  • Very cool! Any pictures where it ended up being used?

  • I built them out of wood, but had originally planned on using Aircraft aluminum...Budget wouldn't allow. Bike cables kept snapping under the immense stress...I had 2 use garage door cable and create an elaborate pulley system on the arm and inside the finger channels 2 multiply the force from the finger controls....There was a lot of math. I used my hand as a template and multiplied everything by 4...4 times the size=4 times the force needed......

  • I was paid 2 design and build the hand. I built 2.....38 inches from base of palm to the tip of the middle finger, 11ft 5 with the arm attached. Fully opposable thumb -free floating mech w/ full range of motion. my design......Rumbaldi built the 79 giant kong hand....I studied his work. I believe my thumb design was an improvement....fingers could be controlled individually or in groups....Most of the theme park hands only work in groups. It worked more freely when mounted on a large gimble.

  • o look what i came across from doing random searches for animatronics and puppets you silly bastard : ) love Harv

  • how did you make that anyway?

  • excellent work guys, when its covered awesome!

  • This is way too cool!! I need to build myself one of these. FYI, there are YouTube videos showing the construction of an animatronic King Kong hand similar to this. Worth looking at...
