I agree; I hate pop, rap, etc. But keep in mind, there is no "right or wrong" type of music. You can have your opinions, but dig deeper. There is tons of great rock music out there. Each generation is inspired by the previous. Learn with what you have. You'll be wishing you did 20 years from now.

Comparing the two genres is like comparing beer and wine; both beverages, or alcoholic drinks, but both are preferred at different occasions and settings.
