@DogWalkingTall It's so funny when stupid people can't back up their arguments with logic, and just resort to insults instead of re-evaluation their arguments. :)
@DogWalkingTall Lol, what, exactly is "shit" in that comment? When people respond like that it generally acknowledges that they have nothing [intelligent] to say, and have no idea what they are talking about. :)
@FreedomForOrcas I don't see how breeding an animal to be eaten is any more ethical than hunting a free animal. Either you don't eat animals/meat or you do, be it for ethical reasons or otherwise - I just don't see how one can justify killing one and not the other when both are equally capable of feeling fear.
No, it isn't in the thousands. Records for the last 300 years show that the average number of whales killed a year is 857.67, and in the last 9 years it is 573.11. It's not even a 1000.
@DogWalkingTall In the last 9 years the average number of whales killed each year is 573. Besides, you don't get sick from eating pilot whale meat. When you do a risk-benefit analysis, some of the benefits of eating the meat, like high content of vitamins and minerals, outweigh some of the negative side effects. We actually don't see any obvious damaging effects of eating pilot whales. The effects that were found were found through a 20 year study.
@Einarjonsson77 - lol, its funny that you accuse me of doing that when I am not in fact Australian at all. Nice job looking like a complete douche. HAHAHAHA. I'm actually Welsh. FAIL.
@FreedomForOrcas It's funny that you accuse all Faroese for killing whales when in fact only a small minority does, and you defend yourself against the ecological damage Australians have done in the past by saying you are Welsh. If you have forgotten, most Australians are from Great Britain, and I dare say that Britons have damaged the world more than any other people have EVER in the history of the human race. Focus on your own problems first - there is more to be accomplished in your home.
@Lemonz1989 - First of all, learn your British history you fuck. The Welsh are not part of the Britons, because they were in fact invaded by England. So suck on that. Go back to school little kid.
@FreedomForOrcas Ha! I, as opposed to you looked it up right before writing it. "The British (also known as Britons, informally Brits, or archaically Britishers) are citizens of the United Kingdom, of the Isle of Man, any of the Channel Islands, or of any of the British overseas territories, and their descendants." Last I checked Wales was a part of the United Kingdom and more importantly Great Britain. The Welsh language is in the Brythonic branch of the Celtic languages. :)
@FreedomForOrcas Also, Wales was almost exclusively Briton in the 6th century. :) "By the end of the 1st millennium, the Anglo-Saxons and Gaels had conquered most of the British territory in Britain, and the language and culture of the native Britons had largely been extinguished, remaining only in Wales, Cornwall, parts of Cumbria and Eastern Galloway."
I'm the kid? I'm not the one telling others to "suck" on things and calling them "fucks", and I'm already in school, thank you very much.
@Lemonz1989 - Yes. You basically repeated what I said. Note the word "CONQUERED". The Welsh and English hate each other. Where did you get your cute little quote, Wikipedia?
My family heritage is in Wales, I think I would know buddy.
@FreedomForOrcas I didn't repeat what you said. You said Welsh weren't Britons, when every source I've checked out says they are. And yes, that quote is from wikipedia, but I made sure it was sourced, and I didn't read it exclusively from wikipedia. I checked multiple sources. Britons aren't only "English", they were all the celtic people living in southern Great Britan or "Britonia" which includes Wales. So even if they were invaded, doesn't make them any less of a Briton.
@FreedomForOrcas Also the fact that the Welsh speak a Brythonic language, makes them Britons. It's the same with me. Denmark took over the Faroe Islands, but that doesn't make me less Faroese.
Also, you ignored my point when I said that you could get more pay off by using the time and energy you use insulting Faroese people, by actually helping your native ecology. There is more work to do, and you won't get Faroese people to stop killing whales by insulting them. You have to be diplomatic.
@Lemonz1989 - Mate, what point are you trying to prove here? I left this comment like months ago. I don't even care anymore. So just shut it and leave.
And by the way, I never insulted "Faroese people", I left my first comment expressing my disappointment that a group of people on the island slaughter whales - something which I disagree with. Now kindly fuck off.
@FreedomForOrcas That depends on how you insult them back, but in the way you did it, then no. However, you can't expect not to be insulted when you leave a comment like that on a sensitive subject like this - especially when this video has nothing to do with whales, which just makes it a provocation.
@DogWalkingTall ha ha that was only the end of the comment. the question was (as you will see if you reread the comment) "Ok so you regard human life less than the life of animals?"
And quite frankly I don't think a person that uses your kind of language is in the position of being offended by my comment - if in doubt reread everything you wrote for this video.
ps. my questions still stand. They are simple, and I can't see any reason for you not answering them.

@DogWalkingTall dude! that was not a reply to my question - so I am still expecting that from you.....In regards to your question: I am a 27 year old double degree graduate, who believes in justice and harmony. (I don´t consider myself infantile, retarded, nor a moron).
Most of all I find it important to back up my beliefs with facts and logics. Human emotions may be forces of nature, but goals have to be based on something more profound and sustainable.
Don't sound like a place to get away from the insanities of the rest of the world when your killing and consuming Pilot Whales that have high toxin levels. That's insane. Sounds like you all have no regard for nature and are going to diminish your natural resources as every one else has done. Promises to encourage more people to live there than the island can sustain will bring you to the living conditions of the rest of the world.
@KristinaTJ94 - HAHAHAHA. They don't suffer? Despite the fact that their necks are sliced open and they are left writhing in bloody red water. Did you know these creatures are self-aware? So when you are out there, torturing those animals to death, they are fully aware of the situation, and they know what is about to happen to them. They are self-aware, intelligent and sentient beings.
Also "there would be too many" is a pathetic excuse.
@FreedomForOrcas I would love to know what you base all your assertions on....I could almost believe you were a whale! please make an effort to understand the situation fully before you use that many superlatives!
@FreedomForOrcas No I am just wondering what is so special about whales which singles them from all other living beings....I would really like to know.
@snorri123 - Nothing. I think all living beings are amazing and deserve respect. Every creature feels pain, every creature has the right to live their lives without human interference.
@FreedomForOrcas The "they are self-aware" argument doesn't really cut it to make whales deserve life more than other animals. The emotions they feel don't become stronger because they are self-aware. Fear is one of the most basic emotions, or survival mechanism, in nature. All creature that are able to experience fear, self aware or not, should be treated with the utmost care to reduce their stress before killing them.
@FreedomForOrcas Oh, I also forgot to say that with them being self-aware, might actually help to reduce their fear, due to them rationalizing the situation, compared to animals that have no idea of what is going on and are in a frantic panic due to someone touching or approaching them. This hasn't been tested, but seen from a human perspective it could be a possibility, could it not?
Im From The Faroe Islands, and i say go there i love my country, it has amazing nature. :)
