  • Class...pure and simple.

  • this song is about a girl called Faye who is repeatedly skeptical

    "And Faye doubt again..."

  • @ceridawn yes

  • @ceridawn yes

  • Amazing performance. One of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever written:)

  • I AM JESUS, I AM THE 666 IN REVELATION...

I AM THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH... MAY GOD BLESS YOUR SOULS...

  • Бесноватый.

    Это очень круто.

    Прислушиваться нужно.

  • ...

  • For you to had found this video accidently on your computer in 2007 and me in 2011 by accident after watching the Paris Cafe version, must be destiny

  • This is unreal.

  • Better than the album version!!!

    absolutely heart-throbbing music

  • whats the chord change at around 4 minutes?

  • @curlymolly70 sounds like E major

  • @curlymolly70 its a c over b.

  • His vocals are fucking amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do not speak, just listen and FEEL this song !!

  • wow... you really struck gold man.... thanks for sharing this gem. much appreciated. everytime i listen to this song i feels like sugar ray leonard went 12 rounds with my insides. it is shattering.

  • such a hard song to play and sing to at the same time, and not to make any mistakes is increadable...........shivers

  • Stunning and beautifull.

  • On 1:28, Thom looks like an embryo. Please, don't punch me... if you stop a little, you can see how fragile and vulnerable Thom is. I bet if I hug him, I would break all his bones. :(

I don't say it only on physical appearance, but on the feelings that he express when he sings it loudly.

Every time I see this video, it makes me wanna cry.

  • *shivers*

  • One of a kind...

  • It's weird seeing Jonny without a Telecaster

  • radio head is magical life

  • looks a bit like billy idol... but it sounds better:)

  • SHIVER!

  • sofa king raw

  • The was no "accidently" in the finding of this my friend.

  • it is stunning that someone could knowingly click on this video and consciously select the dislike button as if their expectations went unsatisfied... im 11times confused

  • @VintageJamesT

Well it could be that their subjective opinion differs from your. Not especially weird as Thom's voice is very different from the norm and well it's not for everyone so to say.

  • @swedenxtrem i wasn't implying that everyone must like Radiohead and Thom's voice or that everyone even knows who they are... I was just assuming someone searching for 'Street Spitit Acoustic' would perhaps be aware of the studio version of the song and the band and therefore i am stunned that people would consciously dislike the song/video because they werent impressed with Thom and Johnny's acoustic take on it.. thats all.. but i understand what you're saying as well

  • @VintageJamesT I also get what you are saying. Made much more sense now. Here have an upvote.

  • @VintageJamesT OH and someone who like the studio version does not necesarily like this version. Altough I love it.

  • Fade out...again...

  • Flawless. Thank you.

  • Beauty=Tragedy+Time. The best songs are the ones that look the most deeply in oneself. Only great artists can do that. Thank you Thom

  • I love this song and this is a great performance....

but for some reason, every time I hear the story of Thom saying how much it hurts to sing this song because of all that drama in it's meaning, I get the feeling he threw that idea out there to sit back and enjoy watching all his fanboys repeat his nonsensical ramblings just as a joke. He just seems like that kind of a joker to me.

  • nidoqueen

  • @catcherintheirye awesome

  • It drains me, and it shakes me, and hurts like hell every time I play it, looking out at thousands of people cheering and smiling, oblivious to the tragedy of its meaning, like when you're going to have your dog put down and it's wagging its tail on the way there. That's what they all look like, and it breaks my heart. I wish that song hadn't picked us as its catalysts, and so I don't claim it. It asks too much. I didn't write that song. ~Thom Yorke

  • @Rygel64 where is this quote from

  • @Moggs24 I don't remember who did the original interview, but you can find the full quote if you search wikipedia for "street spirit (fade out)"

  • @Rygel64 that just made me love it even more

  • so much emotion!

  • i listen to it at least once per day... I feel like i Have to, like it's making my day better...and to be honest it does, it makes it more...colorfull...

  • @maikthegreat92 isn't this song about how he believes the devil always wins?? he's said in numerous interviews that singing this is incredibly hard for him. :O that being said...still the greatest thing i've heard.

  • @00Radiohead of course it's difficult, look at the lyrics, it's pure poetry... I think Thom is the only man who can sing this and make you feel what he is singing... masterpeace...

  • I absolutely love Thom's voice. He makes me melt when he sings low but can also cheer me up when I'm down...

  • we are accidents waiting to happen

  • That twelve-string adds so much to this song! The vocals are wonderful, too.

  • i've never seen him singing this song with this amount of passion

  • O.M.G. There are no words in the English language to properly describe this awesomeness of this.

  • MUCH better than the studio version... It's just incredible... it's a miracle...

  • Immerse your fucking souls in love people.

  • man this song is like medium-hard to play along with singing...seriously...try it...its hard with singing! plus the long note breath...damn...

  • que pinche voz!!!!! el primer IMMERSE YOUR SOUL IN LOVE me encanta!!!!

  • @noaddictons Which live?

  • awesome!!

  • Os caras não param de serem bons.

  • He can take as many breaths as he'd like in my book, HE'S FUCKEN BRILLIANTLY BEAUTIFUL! This song is no easy task for sure, and his creation so be it. HANDLE YOUR BUSINESS THOM LIKE ONLY YOU CAN!

  • This song is yummy, as is all Radiohead music

  • i dont think i've EVER heard anything quite as quintessentially amazing as this...

  • Breath in Thom .. breathe in for Gods sake

  • No words... I dont know how, its just make me sad, makes me nostalgic, I love this song.. and his final message.. Inmerse your soul in love, no words to describe my admiration to Radiohead, it just makes my imagination flies at full speed, thanks for this pure art.

  • i can't believe johnny's sitting down...

  • Beautiful.

  • this is a real talent

  • this painfully good

  • Absolutely stunning,Thoms voice gives me the shivers.

  • @noaddictions?

hear the song once more and you yesaddictions ;)

  • 10 people dislike seeing what this "talent" thing is about.

See they're holding instruments called guitars. That sound coming out of his mouth is called his (real) singing voice.

Lesson over for tonight, we'll reconvene tomorrow where I'll show you just why putting some pretty boys together doesn't make them a band. Homework is listen to actual real music until your ears bleed.

    Class dismissed.

  • 10 dislike, but i see only the green ;)

  • If an alien landed in my back garden and asked me "what is music?", I would show him this video.

  • @DriveIn84 ..or surfing with the aliens - joe sat.

  • @DriveIn84 no dought this is truly beutiful music...

  • @mcleesdon

    dought lol

  • @DriveIn84 dude yeah i think i would too

  • @DriveIn84 I would slap him very hard and ask him "are you fucking kidding me?, what planet are you from???"

  • 10 people like rebecca black...

  • @meump - I think you're being a tad generous there.

  • I'm moved to tears. This is great talent, and what goes far beyond talent. Only Thom Yorke could deliver this song with such impact . In every live vid I've seen of this song, I can see what it's doing to him—as much (and perhaps more) than listeners. How could people sway and cheer while this is playing? They must be stone deaf or hopelessly wasted.

  • @babooshkalika I know it doesn't make sense when people clap, cheer, and yell. It's pain for him to go play through this song.

  • ...and that ladies and gentlemen, is how you write a song that impacts the human heart.

Wow...just fucking wow...depth you can't teach. No music lesson in the world will teach someone how to cut through other's souls with that much vividness.

You either are born knowing how to reach people on this level, or you're not, and Radiohead do it on a level unlike anything I've ever heard.

  • 'Street Spirit' is our purest song, but I didn't write it. It wrote itself. We were just its messengers; its biological catalysts. Its core is a complete mystery to me, and, you know, I wouldn't ever try to write something that hopeless. All of our saddest songs have somewhere in them at least a glimmer of resolve"

Thom Yorke on Street Spirit (Fade Out)

  • @makidtrej I completely understand what Thom is saying. I'm a poet and I feel that my life in it's entirety writes my poems I just try to use soulful and profound word sequences to capture the message. I absoutely detest reading my work aloud and when I've had to do so I have to completely disconnect from all emotion from the piece as it's my soul exposed on paper and I couldn't do it if I remained attached

  • This gives me chills.

  • superduperhigher......eargasm.....!!!!

  • that is the bar music people! and no one is even close!

  • Pure F@CKING GENIUS.....period.

  • Best band Eva!!

  • Fuckin Amazing!!!! ;)

  • Best live version of this song ever. Hands down.

  • his voice..

  • what a voice

  • Me like...Me like very much!

  • Oh my gosh. His voice... it amazes me. What talent.

  • YORKE FOR PRESIDENT, BITCHES

  • For the very first time I seriously think 9 people missed the like button. FOR REAL

  • 2:33 how does he change his voice like that???!!!

  • my ears came and I had a brain baby....gonna name it thommy

  • Who the fuck dislikes this? My guess is Radiohead fans who bitch that anything pre Kid A was top 40 pop music and only true music fans appreciate the post OK Computer stuff more than pre OK Computer stuff.

  • @Hallucination Anyone who thinks that this is mainstream has other stuff to worry about. I've never come across a Radiohead fan who hates The Bends and OKC so I think any who do are in a minority (Pablo Honey is another story). I do however think that many Radiohead fans are ironically close minded, but whatever makes 'em happy, whatever they want.

  • I listened this song 4563 times in the last 5 minutes

  • 9 people have faded out :)

  • .. wow very good

  • i just orgasmed

  • did anyone else search this after seeing the speed painting of thom yorke?

  • I Think My Soul has been touched...

  • He says that when he sings this song he can't actually think about it or else he would break down in sadness. He has to block out all emotion in the moment of performance. He says that he didn't even create the song and that it created it self. He feels that the song is something he would never create, because it a tunnel without light. Theres no hope at the end.

  • @lazomba He also has to sing it inside of vacuum, or else anyone within earshot of it will be tranported to a magical musical dimension for 4 minutes and 20 seconds.

  • @beninatorskater Dang it! I wish you had told me that sooner. It's too late for me. Save your self......

  • I sang this song with an acoustic guitar in front of my school (6-700ppl) and almost everyone who knew the song said, that they liked it more than the original.

...damn.. what ignorant deafs. This is uncoverable, as almost all Radiohead songs. Perfect :)

  • He can kick the asses of EVERY singer in the music industry right now and the so-cal singers on american idol!!

  • What a fantastic performance of this song! I remember reading somewhere that Thom dislikes it when people act so excited when this song is played, as he feels it's one of the saddest, most heartfelt songs he's ever written. I wonder if something happened at this point in time to allow him to pour such a huge amount of emotion into the performance.

  • @SydMorrison He actually has to block out everything to sing this song or else he'll break down and cry. He doesn't know where the song came from and he says he didn't write, but that it wrote it self.

  • shivers

  • This is my favorite song from Radiohead

  • his voice gives me more pleasure than any girl ive been with...

  • @TheDarkDimensions Your comment is really powerful. This music makes me cry and your comment struck a cord in me. Sometimes everything seems really small and sad and it's like his voice is telling the whole world my deepest fears and secrets.

  • @TheDarkDimensions He's good but not that good lol.

  • every time someone mentions how many people dislike a video in a witty way, everyone likes wut the say. A bit of irony in that. Great song none the less

  • 100% win

  • one of the best songs in the world ! definitely !

  • My favourite RH song. I've never seen Thom performing it like this. Thanks for the vid!!!

  • i'd rather watch this live than have sex with megan fox,and i'm straight

  • Thom says he takes himself of the emotion in this song whenever they play it live because he wouldn't be able to cope but this performance here with no crowd and possibly many takes I think he's not holding back at all. Oustanding

  • of all the good things that england has to offer, rh is best

  • fuckin great beaufiful song¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • For people who have everything, they have the world. For people who have nothing, I hope they have Radiohead.

  • need a group hug!

  • haha learning to play this song is a nightmare trying to start practising but once you get into it it's just a case of learning not to muffle the strings lol

  • This song makes my eyes cryin', soul bleeding and heart tearing on two halfs but anyway I can't stop listeing it. Someone wrote here "...what a beautifuly hopeless song" Well he was fucking right. Right now I'm fighting with my fuckin' tears too. Love Radiohead!!!

  • how is this session titled?

  • where is the fake plastic trees perfomance from this session?..it was absolutely great!: /

  • 3:00-4:00 He takes like 3 breaths. WTF Thom?

  • @mlsgearon he's probably also a deepest sea diver on the quiet I think

  • @mlsgearon this is quite intriguing (and impressive), the technique he masterizes to keep this long high note. I used to sing this song, everything's ok but the breath. It's about the same with Chris Isaak, on the song "Dancing" for example (live version). Must be in the way of projecting the sound somehow, in order to economize a lot of air. Or if not, I don't know, what kind of lungs do they have?? iron lungs? :)

  • @mlsgearon actually 5 isn't he?? is just that the last 2 are for the "immerse" part... but still amazing!! damn!!

  • @mlsgearon 5 dude

  • @mlsgearon Um, do you think that he doesn't take breaths in the studio version? The man has pipes but of course he does. You can't hear them because of studio magic, silly person. :P

  • im a oasis fan and i think theese are way better then them i mean every song is fuking great

  • i do so love good music!

  • Maestro.....este hombre es un genio.

  • Thom's voice was amazing in the 90s. GOD DAMN THIS IS GOOD!

  • @shizbie93 you'd have to be dead not to get goosebumps listening to this song.

  • Supreme

  • El mejor acústico de la historia de la música...

  • How can anyone dislike this!?

It's like saying you dislike life itself..

  • now normally a beautiful song like this, I'd say no to covering, but I heard The Darkness' cover of it, and probably because it's a different genre, it kinda works in a strange way

  • @amsterjan1 funny you mention Jeff Buckley, which I love too, I've read once what Thom said about Jeff. He said if it wasn't for Jeff I wouldn't have the courage to sing so much in falsetto...

  • W O W

  • Oh God,this hurts.....

  • This song may sound like it's about hopelessness, but the ending reminds us all of the one thing that gives us all salvation. If we don't have love in our hearts for SOMETHING then that black hole will swallow us all in the end.

'Immerse your soul in love'.........before it's too late.

  • @Steveypoos there is nothing about immersing your soul in love in this song lol

  • love for oneanother will grant us hope

  • "Street Spirits (Fade Out)" was the song that made me a Radiohead fanatic, and this acoustic renditon is a testament of Thom Yorke's overlooked harmonic quality in his voice and connection of the song's theme. Any reason on this band not being more revered for its obvious talent is beyond me.

  • That's how you pour your soul into a song.

  • does anyone have the performance of Fake Plastic Trees from this session? Also probably the best version of the song, but the youtube video has been taken down : (

  • soulfull

  • shivers... every... single... time

  • i love it....

  • One of the most flawless performances I have ever seen.

Thom Yorke means what he is singing about.

Please do NOT blow us all up.

    Immerse your soul in love.
