i remember first becoming aware of him while watching patton as a child. i couldn't get over the size and shape of his nose. lol. brilliant actor who's role as the reverend in pollyanna is further proof that this guy had some chops
I'm from the late 80's generation so I essentially missed out on everything big from this guy, but I recall growing up as a kid in the 90's I remember him best for his role as Omar N. Bradly in the 1970 film "Patton". And then looking on imdb it apparently IS his best known role, ha. Funny thing was he actually looked like the real general. He had a good run, it seems. Have a good one, Karl.
David Carradine, Ed McMahon, Michael (of course) Farrah, Billy Mays, and now Carl....that is 6 recent ones...If Billy wasn't famous enough for you...then because of the 3, thing...we got one more to go. Thought I would add my insignificant comment to the group.
People think im related, thats not such a bad thing..

I particularly remember his firey sermon in Pollyanna. Despite what he preached, death came quite gradually for him :)

Nobody can ever replace the great Mike Stone, the greatest fictional LT in San Francisco. That was a great TV series he was on, sad he passed on.

I admire how Michael Douglas never forgot him. He called him his surrogate father, and said he loved him with all of his heart.
