In 2001 the majority of poppy farms in the world was not in Afghanistan for the first time in recorded history. After the was on terror began the farmers were free to plant what they wanted without fear of losing their hands to the Taliban if they grew poppy.

The people of Afghanistan turn to growing poppy production because there's no other way to make money. This is a good idea. Its always the suppressing of information that prevents people from seeing a monster for what it is. How many towns are there that don't have radios? How many would it take?
Well, it's hard to know how many towns need radios... this project focuses on only one town - a city called Nawa. Hopefully if this goes well, we can do this project again in other cities.

In 2001 the majority of poppy farms in the world was not in Afghanistan for the first time in recorded history. Because the radio tells of how the Taliban uses poppy profits to fund warfare. If that is what you call real info then you are as misled as this propaganda campaign aims to make others.
If you want to see the truth of this issue, or something you can call 'real info' look up the GNP for Afghanistan for 2000-2001 and combine this data with poppy production that was all but destroyed by the Taliban before the Americans returned. Money does not lie like the radio does.

Spoilers: Afghanistan's GDP is up because the Taliban banned opium production in 1994...which is where the drop in GDP presumably began, according to your own map. The people of Afghanistan turn to growing poppy production because there's no other way to make money. And the "democracy" in Afghanistan is anything but that-it's a corrupt puppet government with no legitimacy.

Oh thank you for restoring at least part of my faith in mankind. The fact that people are able to digest the notion that the Taliban is using money from the opium trade to blow up buildings is a testament to how ignorant they are.
I think everyone who watched this video should turn off their TV for at least a month and only get their news from local feeds and reporters native to the areas that are affected by this new age imperialist and quite fascist mindset.

Well, it's hard to know how many towns need radios... this project focuses on only one town - a city called Nawa. Hopefully if this goes well, we can do this project again in other cities.
