i was under the impression we were talking about the first gen VR6 engines(AAA2.8 128KW, ABV2.9 140KW) that came in the MK3's

they were only delivered with 5 speed gearboxes.

all newer types were with 6 speeds here in europe.

so its not that i dont believe you, i just didnt know what engine was in this golf. i presumed an AAA with an open exhaust for the metallic sounds the newer types produce

anyway... nice work fitting a new type VR6 in an MK2:)
