Hey you're awesome. I'm only 14 so maybe weird to get advise then..but try using a brush and use atleast 4 hb pencils, 5h hb f 4b and 6b just an example, and get the hair detailed with the 5h, then shade with f and 4b for the real dark parts, then use the eraser for more depht ;) you're great man keep it going!

How do you learn to shade stuff realistically? I can sometimes get a decent line drawing but its cartoony because I cant blend/add those final touches to look real! Also do you ever use grids to get proportions on faces? thanks

I seriously dont know how to explain shading, I just somehow learned it automatically, no I dont use grids or anything else, I draw free handed

Please tell mi how many hours a day you practice? Thanks to recession, and losing my job i started to draw portraits few months ago. But my looks like childs draw compering to jour work! Im impressed!

it's hard to tell, I started to draw these portraits in february and I drew almost everyday for a month and a half to complete this video. I practiced maybe 3-4 hours a day. But now I draw more detailed and larger portraits and it requires more hours, but I dont draw everyday now. But I've been drawing more or less since I was a kid so I didnt just jump into portrait drawings without any kind of drawing experience, thanks for watching :)

thank you!, yeah, lol I also dont know what they are called, yeah I use them but all the first portraits from 0:00 - 3:05 was made without them, there I had to use my fingers to shade, then I discovered these shading "pencils" so I bought them and I now I cant draw without them :D

My favourite is also Jack Black!!! Very very good and I love the way you did the video!! You can tell, with lots of practise that you've gotten better and better as you draw more..I'm expecting even greater portraits down the track when you get even more skilled. Brilliant job!
