Yes, Islam is a religion of peace and no Islam does not allow forced conversions, MUSLIMS do it anyways. Also, Christians in the later Spanish Empire after the fall of the Ottomans in that area forced Muslims and Jews to convert to Christianity or be banished from Spain. Most left and some stayed due to feeding their families. Those who decided not to convert lived with full freedom when they moved to the Ottoman Empire! This is what Islam teaches, your religion/life is your own!

As a Muslim and an American I can say that Sharia Law is strict and NOT flexible. It's a law that is hard for non-Muslims and some Muslims to live through. Persian ARE great people and very strong, they succeed in anything they go for, but keep in mind that it was the Persians who chose the Islamic Republic when the Shahs were overthrown and for a good reason though you may not see it!

Do you know Iran's history and how/why the Shahs were overthrown? When you learn more about it you'll learn as to how cruel the Shah was and what he did to his own people. Did you know that those of the women who wore hijabs they were forced to take it off under the Shah's rule, and those who opposed this rule, like the imams and people from the mosques, were killed by troops in the mosques. Shah used his power to increase his wealth and killed thousands of poor Iranians as a result!

I am not saying that Muslims are angels, because they're not, they're humans just like Christians, Jews, Hindus, etc... Islam is as peaceful of a religion as any other religion. Though you may see it as one sick religion, I'm telling you to not judge the religion by its followers but the followers by the religion. Instead of the fanatics who burn Qur'an each year in America, open and read the Qur'an for once and then you can judge, but until then, read it!

Also, before you read the Qur'an, which I really don't know if you will or not, but if you do, erase all the crap you saw on movies, shows, and media from the west and after reading the Qur'an, judge what's right and what's wrong- simple as that! Many priests have converted to Islam just by reading the Qur'an and finding out its TRUE meaning. I'm saying that if they decide to take out Islamic Republic, they should do it only for the intention of having a nation equal to Muslims and non-Muslims- a DEMOCRACY- and that it shouldn't be a nation that'll completely take out one's religion in place of finding freedom- which in actuality will bring up a whole new world of hatred and oppression!
