I love this silly parody movie! It always gives me a roller coaster ride of emotions while watching it!
But one little nitpick -- the ship is said to be too big to enter the Earth's atmosphere, yet we can clearly see it a mere couple miles from the earth's surface, able to see roads and houses with ease, and at that moment, the ship wasn't shattering into a million pieces or burning up.
Like I said, a nitpick, but other than that, it's a fun movie. The actors and the story were all top notch!
I love all the action in this, they dont made parodies like this any more. Smart, funny, feel-good, good acting, even some heart-breaking moments. And let me remind you that this IS a parody, not a normal comady. While the Scary Moves and movies like them are pretty funny, I miss movies that dont treat their veiwers like brain dead monekeys.
@PuertoRican88, the Enterprise seperates the saucer section and engine section. With the Protector, it's just the primary command deck and some engines for landing.
what always got me was at 5:06 sigourney weaver says commander yet is she talking to mathesar or tim allen? cause even after they told the aliens they were just actors.
If you hear what the alien leader says at 3:45 he says something like: "Our ship was ... as big as this (shows size). Haha, a very clever deception indeed!" Witch means they didn't believe the Commander anymore, they don't think they're actors. I just got that, and it's the third time I've seen this now. They believe the Commander just lied to make the bad guy underestimate them and their powers.
i think mach is something that works in atmosphere where there's air and a plane can fly many times faster than the speed of sound. Mach 3 is 3x speed of sound.

Mach 2 is not limited to airplanes. It is simply the Speed of Sound x 2. However it would be a ridiculously slow speed for a spaceeship.
