Nice lash up. I've started seeing NS more freq. in NM at the BNSF yard in Belen, NM. I also seen a PNWR SD40-2 from Oregon in a UP AC4400CW consist here too. That was too cool.

Ha-ha! Thanks for the tip, I'd like to make my way to Pocatello one of these days. I'll be revisiting Bozeman and Mullan pass this April, so look forward to some new footage.
nice vid theres only one spot on the line i rail fan and that is at king hill (Idaho) how many trains a day do u get up there on a good day we get but 15-20
dash- 9 got way the hell out there?? out here on the east all we see is ns,csx, and sometimes you'll see a few beat up conrail locos....the scenery where ever this was shot is amazing id love to be an engineer out there!!....peace
Railroads will "share" their locomotives with other railroads so they can meet their power requirements for trains or do "run throughs". They keep track of the power used on their "loaners" on electric meters that are inside the locomotives SIMILIAR to those on your house. The railroads keep track and then loan other locos back to the other railroad to balance the "power bill". Yes, I am generalizing to keep it simple, but I think you get the idea. Hence, you will see "stray power" all over.
Thanks for the footage!....I seen Boseman Pass II and learned something new. When the helpes 'stop' pushing the train the basicaly stop th throttle action and no need to uncouple the air lines. Thanks for showing us!
Always a good, clear picture, especially compared to other people's vid's I have watched. GREAT job! (Love the part where you were racing along beside the train.)
BNSF,NS, and MRL on one train? WTF?

Thanks! I see NS and CSX units through here regularly. Rarely see CN, but always a good mix of power can be seen on the MRL.
