No. This match proves Mayweather is just fast and doesn't have a good strong punch. Why beat an always-open-Hatton in 10 rounds when you can do it in less? When I was an amateur I was at the gym early on a Sat morning. A pro who knew my trainer wanted to do defensive corner work but there was nobody else there so he asked my trainer if i would do it with him.

At the end of the day, he went after his dreams and became world champ. For the record, I'm Black and I'm not a hatton fan. I work a regular 9to 5 like everybody else but I am a former amateur athlete who respects professional athletes because I know its not easy.

No. This match proves Mayweather is just fast and doesn't have a good strong punch. Why beat an always-open-Hatton in 10 rounds when you can do it in less? This is boxing, not a tickling or dancing competition. I'd knock my opponent quickly if I can. This match has to be the match with the most hugs in boxing history.

In the first fight with Mqz pac threw 619 punches, that is not even half of what he did against Clottey.
In the first 2 rounds pac threw 77 and 75 punches, but once Mqz started timing him by round 8 pac was throwing only 30 punches per round.
It is amazing how punch out drops when you are getting tagged.
By round 8 Floyd had Mosley throwing 7 punches per round.

He's had a lot of practice against right handers...how much practice has Mayweather had against southpaws. That to me is the key to the fight. I think Mayweather could win if he can beat the unusual characteristics of the southpaw. Both have good knockout power. I would watch for those uppercuts, and hooks, from Pacquiao.

no doubt mayweather has far superior skills than hatton but the ref wouldnt let hatton fight on the inside. as soon as they got close the ref would break it up or mayweather would get some cheeky elbows in while defending himself. with a different ref this 'could' have gone hattons way. at 3.50 mayweather nearly goes down, i dont think iv seen anyone else do that to him! good fight tho, a typical 'styles make fights' match.

ya but if you look closely hatton missed that jab and floyd's left foot got tripped up by hattons right foot causing floyd to stumble, the ref kept breaking them up because floyd tied ricky up everytime he got close thus making it floyd's fight when they were seperated, the ref in this fight was the same ref that was in the hatton vs castillo fight and he had to constanly warn hatton about the clinching,wrestling, and rabbit punches so the ref wasnt gonna let the same stuff happen in this fight

When a basketball game is close. The team with possession can call a time out and advance the ball half court, to make winning easier. And fans don't complain and say, " it's not exciting, they should of imbounded the ball fullcourt.

i agree....buts it not that simple and black and white. its more complicated, and i cant respond to you simply. all i can say is boxing isnt that type of sport. its a blood and guts sport where theatre counts, sometimes ALOT, any judge will tell you that. excitement and tough fights is what makes the sport thrive. cherry picking and doing just enough to win turns off alot of fans from boxing

lol you're right about Cotto and margarito. But saying Pacquiao has only one punch? That's ancient history. He had one punch against Barrera, Morales and Marquez back in 2003. Did you not notice that two of the three knockdowns in his hatton fight were quick right hooks? When he finally threw his "one" punch, hatton was asleep on the canvas.

what you fail to realize is floyd is the biggest draw in the sport. the biggest draw in the fight means that person gets majority of the fight money. why do u think oscar made way more money than floyd in that fight?becasue oscar is the biggest draw in that fight and in the sport. floyd didnt have a 50/50 with oscar.he had a 60/40 or a 55/45 dont remeber. so askin for a 50/50 to floyd which who is the biggest draw in the sport is basically saying i dont want to fight you. its all buisness first

i realize that, its obvious. but manny pacquiao is the CURRENT #1 lb for lb fighter in the world. you dont retire from a competitive sport and come back to your old rank because your ego says so. the sport moves on without you. floyd wants his title back bad, so he needs to fight pacquiao for that, and paquiao obviously wants the biggest fight possible right now and thats a pacquiao vs mayweather fight.
