If you have a old 60GB and you put it on the xbox then you put the transfer cable onto the new 120GB it comes up saying transfer to console or transfer from console... What one do i select if im wanting my content on the 120GB? :S

@drawingtala If it is the old style 360 then yes easy plug in. If you have a Slim Xbox 360 then these old hard drives won't work with it unfortunately.

I have a question.. can someone just tell me the answer.. My xbox is flashed, but i'm, not banned, because i haven't played on it for like a year even tho i was playing online with backups way before everyone started to get banned (when cod mw2 was released) .. thing is now,, i'm selling my xbox, the person doesn't know it's flashed, can they still play online with ORIGINAL games? Even tho the xbox is flashed? i'm not banned. Also, is there a way someone can find out if the xbox is flashed? tnx
Is it possible transfer data from the 120gb back to the 20gb? I originally had the premium and then got the elite. Now I want to trade in the elite for the xbox s but il lose my saves as I can't get the xbox s at the trade in price unless I swap the elite at the same time
@WyldeGuitar Best thing would be to get a memory stick probably and then transfer the files across from the 120gb to the memoery stick then to the 20gb.
ive got my transfer cable no disk- wondering, i went to my memory settings and then on hard drive with the cable pluged in and it registered that as a memory stick usb but at the bottom it says transfer content- as in to transfer it to the usb, if i clicked it would it would it go to my new 120 gb hardrive or would it just hurt my feelings and leave me in an alley way
@lloydyz1150 Microsoft have recently made some changes to the transfer process. Try that method with a demo or movie file. Then replace your hard drives and see if it did actually transfer. Hopefully it will then it will be easy for you! good luck!

hey dazz im getting the new xbox 360 slim and need to transfer my data from my 360 hdd to my pc/external hdd do you know what i need or how to do it please pm me back thanks
@belziba3141 Hey. Well you can transfer data from your old 360 hdd to your new slim 360 hdd with a transfer cable. They are being sold in shops now for around $20
Hey Dazz, I'm sure people have asked this before but I'm just wondering what if I have a 20gb hard drive and a 256mb card and want to transfer ALL the data to one 120gb hard drive. What would I do in this case?
@Vercungatorix You'd do the transfer as I did 20GB to 120GB. Then you'll have the 120gb on the Xbox. Then once that is done, plug your 256mb card into your console. Go to the dashboard, settings, memory and just choose each file on the memory card and you can copy it to hard drive. Simple.
@BoTheBuddah90 You can format only 16 GB of the drive to use with the Xbox 360, even if the USB drive is larger, so if you have more than 16 GB of data you need the cable anyway :-D
Actually, this has turned into a nightmare for me. everytime I put the xfer cable in, I get a menu to start transferring individual files, as if its running the new USB transfer update. Apparently, it thinks my new drive is a huge USB device. I try to run the transfer software that came with it, but it will not load any custom software migraton program like shown on your video. the console transfer option that you can find under system options-memory-device options-transfer takes over
I asked this on the other vid too, but since this is the Q&A. Do you need to also use the Liscense Transfer tool? In order to play all content offline? I.E. the proprietary tool from Microsoft they only let you use 1 time a year to swap data between consoles. console emphasized here. DRM stuff. the FAQ says its not needed on a HD upgrade when done with the CD/cable kit, but I not trust that FAQ.
if i bought the 250gig and did the whole transfer from my 60gig. will it work the same way if i transfer 20gig to 60gig using the same software and transfer adapter from the package that came in with the 250gig?
There may be a compatibility issue. Some of the newer kits work with both types of harddrive whereas the original kit did not. Unfortunately its a matter of chance.
the video helped with some questions i had. but i still have a few and i wonder if you can help.i know the transfer kit transfers everything but is it possible anyway to just get my game saves instead of my brothers??? because my stuff is still on his so i don't know if its possible to just get my stuff and leave his on it or not. but like if i delete his account and items will it delete his games saved???
Unfortunately you cant choose. Yes it would delete his saves and put them on your drive. What you'd have to do is get a memory card and then only copy your game saves across. That is the only solution.
i got a question say that u dont have a xbox and u made a acc thing on ur frinds 360 on mw2 can u transfer the acc to your xbox 360 with a memory card?>
yes on the elite you can recover your gamertag which copies across your achievement data. You can redownload all the stuff but the only thing you'll still need to transfer over are the game saves. You'll need a memory card for that/use the data transfer cable.
not a microsoft transfer kit ... search out transfer xbox 360 with kit bought on ebay; take CD & put into your PC ... I believe it uses the PC and not the xbox unit for the transfer
Nice videos. I don't think my question is in the answers video. Is there a cable to transfer the xbox 360 data on the pc to make backups? And when I need them on the 360's hard drive, I will take them back from my pc? I hope you understand my question. Thanks
It is possible to transfer xbox 360 data to the pc and make backups. Check amazon for 'Datal 360 Xport' and have a look. I have no experience in it, but I hear it works well. Thanks!
I have a 1.5tb seagate external hard drive, should that instantly work plugging it in, also should it delete any files already on it? I fear i will have to format it destroying my many hd dvd rips =(
Remember you can't use an external drive to save Xbox 360 game data at all. If you're talking about watching videos off it yes it will work instantly (NTFS/FAT 32) and it won't delete any files off it.
i gots a question, idk if you know cuz u got the official one, but on the ones off ebay that are not the same, EX: have to transfer via computer not xbox. Do you know if there is a way to transfer all the downloads EX videos, game demos etc. Or do you have to download those all?
Many of the ones on eBay are the official ones as well. I do know what you mean though as well but it is more troublesome that way. I imagine on those ones via the computer you can probably select which stuff to copy off but unfortunately that's as much as I can help. sorry!
Cheers M8 but can I transfer all my stuff from my 60 to a 120 or does it have to be a 20 - 120 message me on xbox XPatwyne JonesX as well as on here plz thanks mate
You can do a 60gb to 120gb transfer. I believe it requires a different cable though although it is the same process so contacting Microsoft and they'll help you.
ok i got an arcade and i want to like transfer my gamer profile, save games demo and shit to my new 60 gb hard driver. but heres the problem the damn memory unit is storred inside my xbox 360 arcade and i really wnna keep all my stuff can i do like the transfer with a 60 gb starter kit with the memory unit storred inside my xbox?
If you just plug in you 60gb hard rive. Then go to the settings and memory and select the game saves. There should be an option to copy to hard drive. Really simple!
i got another question if i transfer my data on the new hard drive does it also transfer xbox update like normal xbox saved games? because i do like to play my old xbox games and if i was wondering i can still play old xbox games without updating them again
I am getting a 360 elite for xmas and was just wondering. i have a 256mb card from my xbox arcade and discovered that i can copy my game saves, gamer profile etc. if i copy it back to my new xbox, will it work as normal
Hello, i have a problem. I ordered starter pack with 60Gb hard drive. If i just plug in my 60gb there and recover gamertag will i have all my achievements and rankings in there 60gb? I know that i cant get my saved games there but for example. I have completed Halo 3 Odst on legendary. That means i have 60gb hard drive and gamertag wich shows that i have completed it, but in game i can't play all missions ect ect? What about Cod 4 i cant play on veteran but i have the achievement to do so?
If you recover your gamertag the only thing it will do is get your achievments and gamertag. From what I believe yes in game it will seem like you've never played it before.
sorry to bother again, i wanna upgrade from the internal 256mb to a 20gb hard drive, with that do you just plug the hard drive in? as there is obviously nothing to connect it to to transfer
do you have to unplug your wireless adaptor to put the usb in for the transfer cable? and if so when you plug it back in will your internet settings be messed up or will it just connect straight to xbox live? thanks!
After you have brought the Elite. Contact Microsoft for a free transfer kit and then you can use that to get your old data off your console onto your new hard drive. Or you can just plug you old hard drive into your new console.
On the video of you transfering data between one hard drive to the other, you said "Let's stick the 120gig back in" (you put the 120gb back on the console).
A bit later, you said, "...it goes into the back of the 120gig" (when you attatched the cable onto a hard drive).
lol. depending on where you are in the process. you first have the 20gb in the console and the cable attached to the 120gb. then when the process is finished you replace the 20gb with the 120gb into the console. hope that helps.
my hard drive says hdd so it has 20gb or 60 because i might buy a 120gb drive and how can i transfer my stuff to the new one and where can i get the disk or whatever it is to do this stuff.
Yes you could transfer his stuff be he would still not be able to on Xbox Live if he has been banned. Also if your console was modded then you cannot use the transfer pack to copy everything across.
Please respond. When i put my disc in it says "please put this disc in your xbox 360?" How come it says that? Everything is hook up except my accessories.
Just make sure your following the instructions exactly. Watch my video on how to do it as well. If neither of those work and you got it from a shop ask for a refund and get another one.
I bought my disc off of ebay from someone on Hong Kong, and the entire disc is in Chinese, and apparently I have to use my computer. Should I just call microsoft and get a proper Transfer kit ordered?
I seem to be able to get it working. You dont have to use your computer if you got the Transfer Kit with a new 120GB hard drive. However, since I got it off of ebay, I am required to use my computer. But thanks for your help! :-)
Hi, I have three gamertags on my 20gb is their a way to keep two of them on my 20gb and transfer only one to my 120gb.
I was thinking the way would be to transfer the two gamertags and the associated game saves onto a memory card then delete them from the 20gb transfer the remaining gamertag over to the 120gb then reinstall the other two back to the 20gb, would that work. Thanks.
dazz, i heard you have to put all your stuff onto your PC, and then onto your new Hardrive, i guess this isnt true, but i saw some transfer cable kits on ebay that said you can only do it that way? also, in your video, in the instructions on the screen, it said something like "now insert your 120gb HD" so... that would seem like the transfer software is only compatible with a 120GB? i want to get a 60GB hardrive, and i can get an entire transfer kit for free from micrsoft you say? thanks
You don't put your stuff on the pc. They are unofficial transfer kits for mainly modders to use the pc first. Yes you can use the 60gb but the cable can differ. You can request one free from Microsoft yes if you get a 60gb or get an elite console with a 120gb drive.
My console keeps saying my new 250GB hard drive is a 16GB flash drive, what do I do????

i just bought a transfer cable and when i put in this disc it comes up with mixed media disc i want to transfer from 20gig to 250gig how do i do it ?
TheMonkeyboy1990 2 years ago
It shouldn't come up like that. Return it and get a new one possibly or phone Microsoft.
dazz4590 2 years ago
not a microsoft transfer kit ... search out transfer xbox 360 with kit bought on ebay; take CD & put into your PC ... I believe it uses the PC and not the xbox unit for the transfer
supercrazydave 2 years ago
hi will a 60gb WDbev hard drive work if so how please thanks
HPKWI 2 years ago
No it won't. Only official Xbox drives will work to save data.
dazz4590 2 years ago
Nice videos. I don't think my question is in the answers video. Is there a cable to transfer the xbox 360 data on the pc to make backups? And when I need them on the 360's hard drive, I will take them back from my pc? I hope you understand my question. Thanks
lancerevogolfmk1 2 years ago
It is possible to transfer xbox 360 data to the pc and make backups. Check amazon for 'Datal 360 Xport' and have a look. I have no experience in it, but I hear it works well. Thanks!

I have a 1.5tb seagate external hard drive, should that instantly work plugging it in, also should it delete any files already on it? I fear i will have to format it destroying my many hd dvd rips =(
Sims3Fallout3 2 years ago
Remember you can't use an external drive to save Xbox 360 game data at all. If you're talking about watching videos off it yes it will work instantly (NTFS/FAT 32) and it won't delete any files off it.
dazz4590 2 years ago
i gots a question, idk if you know cuz u got the official one, but on the ones off ebay that are not the same, EX: have to transfer via computer not xbox. Do you know if there is a way to transfer all the downloads EX videos, game demos etc. Or do you have to download those all?
TheBigHurtIV 2 years ago
Many of the ones on eBay are the official ones as well. I do know what you mean though as well but it is more troublesome that way. I imagine on those ones via the computer you can probably select which stuff to copy off but unfortunately that's as much as I can help. sorry!
dazz4590 2 years ago
Can you play offline?
Elm117 2 years ago
You mean play games offline?? Yes of course
dazz4590 2 years ago
Thanks Daz
The cable is no longer free from Microsoft.
Just ordered one and it comes in at £11.64
Just upgraded my Xbox360 to a limited edition Xbox360 Elite 250GB. Bit P***ed off though that I need to cough up more money for the cable.
Thanks for your posting. Know what I need to do when it arrives.

Cheers M8 but can I transfer all my stuff from my 60 to a 120 or does it have to be a 20 - 120 message me on xbox XPatwyne JonesX as well as on here plz thanks mate
BEEN1EMAN 2 years ago
You can do a 60gb to 120gb transfer. I believe it requires a different cable though although it is the same process so contacting Microsoft and they'll help you.
dazz4590 2 years ago
I have just got the transfer kit from ebay and whrn i set it up and put the disc in it only says mixed meadiea disc so how can i fix it?
ashcheif 2 years ago

dazz4590 2 years ago
is your xbox faster with the 120GB HDD or is it the same speed as if you still had the old 20GB HDD?
masonwolfe25 2 years ago
Same speed on the dashboard. But if you copy the 360 games to the hard drive it does make the majority of them load faster.
dazz4590 2 years ago
ok i got an arcade and i want to like transfer my gamer profile, save games demo and shit to my new 60 gb hard driver. but heres the problem the damn memory unit is storred inside my xbox 360 arcade and i really wnna keep all my stuff can i do like the transfer with a 60 gb starter kit with the memory unit storred inside my xbox?
toney2444 2 years ago
If you just plug in you 60gb hard rive. Then go to the settings and memory and select the game saves. There should be an option to copy to hard drive. Really simple!
dazz4590 2 years ago

i got another question if i transfer my data on the new hard drive does it also transfer xbox update like normal xbox saved games? because i do like to play my old xbox games and if i was wondering i can still play old xbox games without updating them again
cocoadile 2 years ago
You may have to re-update some of your old xbox games, for instance I had to download the Halo 2 map packs again after I first did it.
dazz4590 2 years ago
with a 20 gb hard drive
vikman43 2 years ago
you don't need a hard drive to play mw2 so yes
dazz4590 2 years ago

Hello, i have a problem. I ordered starter pack with 60Gb hard drive. If i just plug in my 60gb there and recover gamertag will i have all my achievements and rankings in there 60gb? I know that i cant get my saved games there but for example. I have completed Halo 3 Odst on legendary. That means i have 60gb hard drive and gamertag wich shows that i have completed it, but in game i can't play all missions ect ect? What about Cod 4 i cant play on veteran but i have the achievement to do so?
maatelintaateli 2 years ago
If you recover your gamertag the only thing it will do is get your achievments and gamertag. From what I believe yes in game it will seem like you've never played it before.
dazz4590 2 years ago
hey daz does my gamertag transfer over or do i have to recover it in the new hd
joeythedawg 2 years ago
it does transfer your gamertag
dazz4590 2 years ago
I got the transfer kit but my disc is deffective. Anyone got the software I need to start the transfer? (And directions would be nice!)
yoshometsuxboxlive 2 years ago
sorry to bother again, i wanna upgrade from the internal 256mb to a 20gb hard drive, with that do you just plug the hard drive in? as there is obviously nothing to connect it to to transfer
slashisgod875 2 years ago
Correct. No need to transfer anything.
dazz4590 2 years ago
i was wondering if i could have that T shirt your wearing? do i need a hdd to transfer that over
mrrap4food 2 years ago
do you have to unplug your wireless adaptor to put the usb in for the transfer cable? and if so when you plug it back in will your internet settings be messed up or will it just connect straight to xbox live? thanks!
slashisgod875 2 years ago
It is advised to unplug all usb devices during the transfer. When you plug it back in the settings should be saved and it should connect.
dazz4590 2 years ago
when u contact microsoft for the free transfer kit, do they come with the transfer disc as well or just the cable only?
blackgunner2 2 years ago
They send the disc as well.
dazz4590 2 years ago
ok my xbox 360 died today, i plan on getting a new xbox 360 elite, how do i transfer the data if my original console is dead?
TegMystery 2 years ago
After you have brought the Elite. Contact Microsoft for a free transfer kit and then you can use that to get your old data off your console onto your new hard drive. Or you can just plug you old hard drive into your new console.
dazz4590 2 years ago
yeah i figured that, i just wanted someone to confirm, thanks alot
TegMystery 2 years ago
Where'd you get the hard drive from?
Just joking.
On the video of you transfering data between one hard drive to the other, you said "Let's stick the 120gig back in" (you put the 120gb back on the console).
A bit later, you said, "...it goes into the back of the 120gig" (when you attatched the cable onto a hard drive).
Which hard drive goes where?
Versettie 2 years ago
lol. depending on where you are in the process. you first have the 20gb in the console and the cable attached to the 120gb. then when the process is finished you replace the 20gb with the 120gb into the console. hope that helps.
dazz4590 2 years ago
my hard drive says hdd so it has 20gb or 60 because i might buy a 120gb drive and how can i transfer my stuff to the new one and where can i get the disk or whatever it is to do this stuff.
cocoadile 2 years ago
Watch both of my videos. Very simple. Buy the new 120gb drive from an electronics store or Amazon.
dazz4590 2 years ago
my transfer disc dosen't work so how do i transfer my memory to my 120GB hard drive
JohnBailey172 2 years ago

dazz4590 2 years ago
hi could u help, my sons console has just been banned if we bought a new console can he transfer all his maps and stuff from old to new harddrive
TheDickdale 2 years ago
Yes you could transfer his stuff be he would still not be able to on Xbox Live if he has been banned. Also if your console was modded then you cannot use the transfer pack to copy everything across.
dazz4590 2 years ago
can you give me the link to the site where you had buyed the 120 GB Hard Drive from and where in the world a you from

YEEE YESTERDAY i did upgrade my old xbox hard drive 20gb to 120gb nice!!!!!
GameCorporations 2 years ago
hey umm when you upgraded your 20 gb to 120 gb what if it gets low? please respond
Eminem841547 2 years ago
well you delete some excess demos you don't need anymore. soon you will be able to upgrade to a bigger drive.
dazz4590 2 years ago
what?!!?!?!!? please explain easier.. like you mean like you only got 2 gbs left just delete some stuff until you get 20 gb??? please explain easier
Eminem841547 2 years ago
I don't understand your question. Have you watched both of my videos including the actual video where I step by step upgrade the xbox drives?
If you have a small amount of space in a drive then you delete excess stuff you don't need obviously to get free space.
dazz4590 2 years ago
Please respond. When i put my disc in it says "please put this disc in your xbox 360?" How come it says that? Everything is hook up except my accessories.
imtogodly124 2 years ago
Just make sure your following the instructions exactly. Watch my video on how to do it as well. If neither of those work and you got it from a shop ask for a refund and get another one.
dazz4590 2 years ago
I bought my disc off of ebay from someone on Hong Kong, and the entire disc is in Chinese, and apparently I have to use my computer. Should I just call microsoft and get a proper Transfer kit ordered?
hug66 2 years ago
Yes. You shouldn't need your computer at all
dazz4590 2 years ago

Thanks.
MrDabas 2 years ago
Yes that sounds correct
dazz4590 2 years ago
when are you getting a hair cut? lol jk
LaughYourAss 2 years ago
oh, i also heard that theres something you can get that allows you to use two hardrives at the same time?!?!
dpq06 2 years ago
Not that I know. It may be possible if you've modded your console though.
dazz4590 2 years ago
dazz, i heard you have to put all your stuff onto your PC, and then onto your new Hardrive, i guess this isnt true, but i saw some transfer cable kits on ebay that said you can only do it that way? also, in your video, in the instructions on the screen, it said something like "now insert your 120gb HD" so... that would seem like the transfer software is only compatible with a 120GB? i want to get a 60GB hardrive, and i can get an entire transfer kit for free from micrsoft you say? thanks
dpq06 2 years ago
You don't put your stuff on the pc. They are unofficial transfer kits for mainly modders to use the pc first. Yes you can use the 60gb but the cable can differ. You can request one free from Microsoft yes if you get a 60gb or get an elite console with a 120gb drive.
