I just tried mine and gave me a lot of crazy numbers... said I had 810 whp in my chevelle but 0-60 was over 9 secs and quarter mile was over 16 secs! of course i didnt go when it said green but i know this cars not pumping 810 whp anyway even if it has a 454 in it lol also said i was going 136.99 mph in 1/8 but 93 at 1/4
@cblt2007 yes :) that's because the power output is calculated by the weight of the car including passengers. I entered this value totally wrong before the first run. Second run was correct...
I use it at the drag strip all the time, it's usually accurate within tenths of a second. And it even has a picture of your time slip that looks identicle to a real slip.
As far as running across your living room, do some research on how an accelerometer works or if that's too hard for u read and follow the instuctions
Whats the name of this song? I love the pocket dyno my 2004 camry I4 was rated at 116HP but my car was extremely hot.. Im gonna dyno my civic tomorrow im hoping for 160hp
This may be extremely usefull when remaping a car, because the only thing that matters is the relation between stock vs tuned. Just run the app a few times to get an average stock power, then do the same after the remap and you'll get an ideia of how much bhp you gain, and other interesting data... Awesome to make cpu adjustments without having to pay for a dyno everytime
correct! Make sure you hold it at the least possible vibrations and without altering the iPhone's orientation (in all axes) during the run.... that's it.
IT HAS TO BE ACCURATE. IF NOT, U ARE SAYING THAT THE I POD ISN'T ACCURATE, PERIOD..... BUT WHEN YOU TAP THE i pod SCREEN IT'S RIGHT ON... it's only common sense!
I tried it in my car and its really really accurate but u did it wrong. the device has to be mounted anywhere. dont hold it in your hand. btw, whats that car? seems and sounds to be very slow but ur statistics say something else.
CLS 350 CGI with 300 HP... tried to hold it as calm as I could.... the speedo of the car and the display of the iPhone actually matched all the time...
remember to add in the weight of the car plus the passengers :) it was telling me my probe had like 600 hp o something lol i put the weight in and made a mount out of velcro and it made a more true to life reading (150hpish)
Are you holding it flat on a surface? If not, it doesn't read accurately. I ran a 8 second quarter mile by just tipping my ipod on its side at my desk....

Did you seriously hold it in your hand? It will result in unaccurate results.

how does it turn off when u stop ur run like when can you slow down?
heyitstheo47 2 years ago
@heyitstheo47
it stops as soon as negative acceleration is detected or if you've already covered a quarter mile...

@xrrxrrxrr
yeah... the power output is calculated according to the car's weight, which was adjusted to a lighter car beforehand...

does it work on the ipod touch
2809Nick 2 years ago
yes... should work on it as well... they have the same accelerometer!

you mount it to the dash .. not hold it in your hand.. you will never get accurate results unless the iphone does not move....
zhjiln 2 years ago
it will still move with a car mount from the engine vibration. it doesn't matter either way.

It is acctualy supprisingly accurate..
I did a short 120kph (indicated by the spedo) run and it registered 119.6
It makes the OCCATIONAL mistake, but in general its fantastic :)

dyockey 3 years ago
you have to keep holding it in the same position during the run. everything else doesn't matter.
just keep it in the position you hold it when tapping to start the run.
gerv8 3 years ago
You are right I failed to read the manual..tried it out and it worked great.
