  • The bass response sounds enhanced, Champs have tendency to sound boxy with the 8" speaker.

  • I like the original Champ. I noticed that just prior to the use of the slide, he reached back and switched on some effects pedals. I love truth and truth says if you are pushing a musical product, make known what kind of "helpers" you are using. Doesn't that seem reasonable? As far as Fender products being made in the USA, really? Half of my Fender gear is made in Mexico and/or Asian countries. So, huh?

  • @Doinkusamongus He's not switching on some effects pedals just prior to the use of the slide. He's reaching back and ... putting on the slide.

  • We are spoiled by cheap Chinese labor and suffering from 30 years of repressed wages in the US. At least Fender is trying to keep some production in the US. How many other companies have thrown our fellow Americans under the bus and moved their jobs overseas?

    Sounds pretty good to me.

  • its expensive but wow it sounds good!

  • To each his own. I've yet to hear a demo of this amp that sounds good to me. And I actually WANT to like it! I'll take my NOS BJ over this.

  • funny, i got the same tone with a frontman w/ vox tonelab st

  • I can get a super sonic shipped to my door for that much.

  • sorry, but you could get an ORINGINAL one for cheaper

  • $1000? You can get a Princeton for that much...

  • @MegaDehumanizer ok man whatever. if you like this amp, so you like this amp. if i don't like it, so i don't like it.

  • Comment removed

  • @MegaDehumanizer nice amp but for $2000 it's junk. if you have $2000 to buy an amp, you can find much more better and bigger amp. but if it was $1000 i would definetly buy it.

  • @hendrixbellamy The only reason this amp is £1000 is because clapton uses it to record ect and because it is a well documented clapton amp, they can charge what they want, do U think the clapton signature strat is any different from a std american strat with noiseless pickups in, no way is it

  • @UKToneHunter Actually, the Clapton Signature Strat IS different than the Standard. The Clapton uses a 12db boost on the middle pick up and tremolo section is professionally blocked (filled). But I still hate this particular Champ amp. I like the tone of the "unstoned" one better. The re-issues of the original Champ are very good.

  • this little "thing" is nearly $2,000 in my country and there are so much dumbs who would pay it for this junk for its "fender" logo on it.

  • Sounds great. But don't make the same mistake I did. 5w cranked is still more than loud enough to get evicted.

  • 1000 is a lot for a small amp like this.............but i would pay it.

  • Fender is becoming like Gibson, in that it makes wonderful products that cost about twice as much as they should. Fender is a wonderful name, but it's not worth the premium.

  • @Anitrop Agree there, tho my new Gibson SG Special 60s tribute was perfectly priced, and it's honestly the best guitar I've played (that's for a standard kind of guitar that's suited for my kind of music, any know-it-alls that want to shoot down my opinion).

  • @Psykel Yeah I play the same Sg as you. And it sounds great. i got it from a used guitar shop for an unbelivable price. It really is a great guitar.

  • Can't you make one of these for $200 or so? Let's see... $35 for a 6V6GT power tube, $10 for a 12AX7 preamp tube, $20 for a 5Y3GT recto tube, $50 or so for other electronics if you get nice parts, $75 for a speaker, and then however much you feel like spending on a container. That's $190, hoping my estimation is correct. $1000, even with labor, is a ripoff.

  • @MeaQuidemCancer You also need the chassis, board, and cabinet.

  • its more of a serious guitar collector amp. not a person looking for an amp to buy.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 1000quid! Forget about it fender!

  • They're retailed at about $2k and go for $1000-$1400 used I believe.

  • sounds boxy and solid state!! wheres the warmth???

  • @Frontierblues Give the speaker a couple of weeks and it will be a little less harsh

  • yup just go to weber and build onea their kits, I did and wanna do more

  • I propose a PRS SE One (with a TV Jones), a Champion 600 with a Visual Sound Com/OD in front and a few hundred still in your wallet.

  • Man I don't know how stupid some people can be, but this amp costs less than 200$ to build for Fender. I like Fender amps, but I dont have 1 quid to spend for an amp that i wont be able to gig with.

  • Fender went 2 shiit a long time ago. :(

I agree, if this amp cost $1K, i'd rather hear a fat girl fart than a pretty girl sing at that stupid ass price.

Fender is living on borrowed time. Sad.

  • Anyone who compalin about the price on this amp doesn´t know what it is. what you pay for is a tube amp that will rock long after you´re gone. these small amps is built like old amps. that means no modern electrical sirquits that will be busted. you will have to buy/repair a lot of amps if you choose a cheap one and after a while you will have paid the 1000 bucks anyway.

  • sounds like the blackberry bush on a 110F summer day

    i LOVE this sound ! ! !

    !!!!

    !!!!

    !!!!

  • PENDEJO !

  • I'm not comparing you moron, I'm saying , buy something more affordable you jackass, everyone doesn't have a grand to piss away

  • with 1,000 dollar I can buy a twin reverb new!!!!

  • i know a guitar shop, where i can get a fender champ from ´52 for 1000 euro

  • Now if I could just get someone to buy the 5E1 I built for $1000...

  • I just bought one and I love it. The tone is outstanding. I have a strat and an sg with P-90's in it. They both sound good through that little amp. Mic that amp up and use for recording. Ungodly crunch and compression.

  • 1000.00 !!!!!!!!!!! get a G-Dec it's more amp for the money .....duhhhhhhhhh

  • @Bluesbarri dude you cant compare a fucking gdec to a pure tube tone champ damn you are an idiot!

  • How many view? ITS over ninety NINE Thousand!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm sure I could get the wiring diagram and specs and build one nearly as good myself for quite alot less

  • sounds absolutely kickass, i imagine the higher-watt equivalent is the tweed deluxe, but how does this compare to a blackface (say a deluxe reverb) or bassman?

  • Come on, someone says this amp is price at 1 large? Christ they probably built it for less than 300.....................WAKE UP FENDER!

  • a hair too distorted imho

  • Surprising how one amplifier with only a volume knob could actually sound amazing.

  • @AASKICKBUTT

not $1000 amazing. This thing is a fucking rip off. Victoria Amps makes a clone far closer to the original, for less money.

  • ta cereto

  • oh man! listen to that tone, and the tune Shane plays really helps to show it! don't you just love that vintage tube saturation, and that filtertron in the bridge...oh my, i died and gone to heaven!

  • no neck pickup?

  • @ex0ja Don't need a neck pickup when the bridge sounds that good. Just use the tone and volume controls and your fingers to change/color the sound and you've got all you need.

  • @itsonlyrcknroll I don't know jack shit about electric guitars, I just wanted to show my expertise in mentioning the neck pickup was missing :)

  • hes touch a button behind him what is that? is there distortion in that or is all tube power?

  • @MsWildCard He's just picking up his slide. That's all tube champ distortion from the humbucker. Nice playing Shane.

  • @hideawayblues can a normal twin reverb get that sound or only the champ is capable of doing that

  • @MsWildCard You only get that sound when you crank a tube amp to 9 or 10. You can try to crank a Twin Reverb to get that sound but you'll probably lose your hearing, blow out your windows, and have the cops show up.

  • la cabronita...hahahah nice name for a guitar

  • @vmp0001 La Cabronita means little badass in Mexican slang.

  • Agreed with Strat 0 Blues below, WHY the HVY price tag for a small amp? Fender could sell a ton of these great little amps by dropping to a reasonable price tag. I settled for a Champ 600 instead as I may have a King's taste but poor mans pocket book. I viewed another site for a demo and thought the sound demo was far superior than Fender's offerings. This is a great sounding amp where I tried at a local small Fender dealer shop.

  • I never did care for those amps. For that matter, the bassman tweeds either. Too throaty. You can see where Marshall got their sound from in some of those late 50s Fenders. Gimme a blackface tone any day.

  • jesus look at those frets

  • I would marry that guitar...even though it is clearly in used condition

  • @theoriginaldimi it's a brand new gittar that's been relic-ed

  • @stiggyto yeah I know. I wasn't really going to marry it though :-)

  • Why are none of these demo's mic'd? i now its a 5 watt amp, so the carmera can handle the volume but still, wernt these made mainly for studio purposes?

  • Sounds great.....price tag?

    Keep freekin dreamin'

  • increible sonido

  • you know when the video started, i thought for a sec that it was an expert village guy, but when he actually played, it was like :o expert village is good now?? :P ohh this isn't expert village! it's actually people who know what they're doing! *breath of fresh air*!!

  • The guitar is a fender Carbonita with a single tv jones pick up and grease bucket wiring witha treble bleed roll off.

  • dang what kind of pickup is that it sounds pretty good.

  • Stoned?

  • I think its supposed to sound like the rolling stones at the beginning

  • @EPICFAILSAM ......duh...... lol

  • aparently its hard to convey sarcasm in text lol.

  • Sounds like it might need to be broken in a little more. Raspy.

  • Or get a 5f1 clone kit for half the price. I bought mine already built for $300 off eBay.

  • A lot of the tone comes from the guitar also. This particular guitar sounds great through this amp. I've heard many that dont. Cool amp, not quite the tone of a real one. Youd think with todays technology they could exactly duplicate that real vintage tone. Why cant they make a 50's amp in 2009 ? Christ, weve been to the Moon and Mars. Is paper that much more expensive than plastic ? Wheres Lupe ?

  • thousand bucks for that? I'll get a Carvin instead!!!!!!

  • Sure is expensive if $1000 is the ticket. I'd rather build one from a Torres Engineering kit for half that cost - and it would be hand wired in the old style way. Too many people in the distribution chain to make an amp like this price competitive. I'll stick with my 1982 Deluxe in the meantime and if that crokes I'll get a Rivera - same designer as my old Fender.

  • I wonder if I can turn up the juice on my Vox 15 watt Cambridge and get that sound?

  • this amp is the biggest rip off. I'm gonna get a Vox ac4tv because its $750 cheaper

  • Try a Cornford...

  • what tune? what TELE is that?

  • They can't play whole tunes because of copright. There was a couple of old Rolling Stones bits in there: Brown Sugar, Honky Tonk Woman, but I didn't recognise the blues bit. Sounds good but, eh?

  • the tunes don't matter so much. Great tone.

  • Yup...$1000 for that 57" Champ RI. Too steep for me. A good alternative is the Vox AC4TV all tube Combo. $199 at GC. Great sounding amp also, at a more realistic price.

  • Still not a handwired fender. 'realistic' tends to only come up with people not interested in buying pro gear.

I'd spend my money on something non-fender but this would be a GREAT amp for small gigs, recording, and at home.

  • OR just buy a Silverface Champ for $300. Even a Blackface will be half the price of this reissue.

  • This is truly an awesome tone, just what I'm looking for. But I'd buy it from a replica manufacturer for hundreds less than what Fender wants. A grand is too much.

  • Sounds cool - $1,000 cool? Nope. Sorry, Fender.

  • this costs a thousand!!!!!???

Sorry but that's rediculous. I can make one for less than that.

  • @promagnum if you think thats ridiculous, that single pickup guitar is $3000

  • @promagnum

If you think that's ridiculous then I wonder what you think about the three grand single pickup guitar hes playing.

  • @promagnum damn straight. I'll drink to that

  • @aquasloth You only say that because it's 5 watts. :/

  • that sounds amaszing!!!! i want one so bad! it also sounds like the black crowes rich robinson

  • Wow.Thats it--THE SOUND-the one and only real Keef dirty honky rocknroll tone.

  • I have a feeling that alot of that break up is the speaker distorting. But o well, it still sounds hella good!!!

  • Hell yeah, that's what I'm talking about!

  • Open G

  • The HD is amazing.

  • nice! what song is that?

  • Does Cabronita mean "Little goat?"

  • Well it sounds more like "little mean bitch" in Spanish, but the correct spelling would be "cabroncita", from "cabrón", but it may be another thing anyway.

  • It can mean a number of things, but in this context, considering the make-up of the guitar being a Tele-style guitar with TV Jones pickups and its description of being "mean", it creators would intend to use the word as referring to a "bastard".

  • i love that guitar:) even though it sports a humbucker:(

  • I'll bet it will still twang if asked to!!

  • Sweet slide, and thats a killer tuning as well. Rock on with the short and sweet vintage Fender clips. Dreams are free ;-)

  • The Cabronita in red and white looks fantastic!

  • love that amp

  • i want that champ and the la cabronita!

  • wow, that was awesome!
