He also doesnt have as powerful a scream as he used to (listen to Comatose). I think these are all biproducts of his smoking habit. Any aged Eddie Vedder is my favorite vocalist, ever, but early 90's Eddie is slightly better than now Eddie. Still love him though :D

@stingum: Well the mic is plugged and the guitars are plugged, but only amplified, and they are using truly acoustic instruments. But since MTV unplugged is both an acoustuic set and a live show, some level of amplification is needed. Nirvana took it a step further and used distortion pedals, and Bruce Springtseen just said fuckit and used electric instruments on MTV unplugged, so PJ is one of the few bands to stick to it. They did an (I believe) true acoustic set at Tower Records in 92
