@skudaarkaat1 Survivors say that the Korean guards were more brutal than the Japanese. And don't single the Japanese or Asians in general out for their inhumanity to man, it's a failure of all races and creeds.
@GhostofCicero That may be treu, but the Koreans that I fought with in VietNam were the greatest, friendliest, most trustworthy soldirs I'd ever been with (besides the Australians) and they hated the VietCong worse than we did, and had little nice to say about the japs. The Japanese killed (murdered) 3 times more innocents that Hitler did, yet they have NEVER apologized to ANYONE, and they started the war!
@skudaarkaat1 No doubt, and lucky they were on your side at the time. There's no defense for what the Japanese did during WWII. Just as there's no defense for the U.S. firebombing of Japanese cities and the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians. Or the British destruction of Dresden. War brings out the very worst in man. Thanks for your service. Former Marine Gulf War vet here myself.
@CSATexan You think American troops have never killed anyone that surrendered or tried to surrender? What about the tens of thousands of Japanese civilians that were killed in U.S. firebombing raids? What I'm talking about is mans ability to dehumanize each other and commit unspeakable acts against one another. No race or culture is exempt from this.
@CSATexan at the end in Europe eisenhower put almost 1 million surrendered German soldiers in a 4,400 acres field with a fence and guards, he gave them no food or water, he ordered the women and children trying to throw food over the fence to be shot on sight. this is the biggest war crime in all history.
Are you forgetting what the Germans did to over 2 million Russian POWs?
You're glad we didnt give those Germans the treatment the Japs got on Iwo. Only a 120 survived.
The Germans who surrendered to the Americans were still glad they werent handed over to the Russians for revenge. It is a crime that we saved them from vengeance.
No Germany did not murder American Prisoners of war wholesale
