  • i hate these trains on the Gospel Oak - Barking line they are soooo slow. They need the elctric ones.

  • In 2013 the Marston vale line will go from Bedford to platform 1a at Milton Keynes central

  • London midland should get two of them and replace the class 153 and class 150 on the Marston vale line

  • @likeplaneboy, Ages ago.

  • when did they come into service?

  • shame they dont go where i live, nuneaton.

  • now that is rare, the london overground trains that go the most north go too watford junction, and why is it in bedford

  • @bennyboymad99 It was rare at the time, it just being a 172, never seen 1 of them before. It was at bedford test running down the bletchley to Bedford line, because they're re-placing the london midland 150's that do that route soon.

  • i dont understand why people dont like this train. i dont care what people say the 172 is the most advanced train on british railway!

  • Is the Snow Hill line still having these trains this year? I can't stand the current trains we have on the Worcester - Birmingham Line! :(

  • do they go through milton keynes??

  • @zootee56 No, it joins the WCML just to the north of Bletchley train station.

  • @rachaelmatt they only built 8 172s for london overground

  • Cool, it would be good seeing these at Bedford, what is the Bletchley service 1 every hour?

  • I cant wait for those 172's to be in service. I thought it would look different though.

    Well Done!

  • They look awesome, great video :) +Fav.

  • These trains are scheduled to run the Barking - Gospel Oak services for London Overground. Its a bit strange that it should be at Bedford, was probably being stabled overnight at the TMD.

  • @rorymacve It wasn't being stored it was test running the Bletchley to Bedford line, cuz when LM get them thats whats going to be doing that service

  • @rachaelmatt london midland are going to have 172's?

  • @badboiant29 All the 150's are going to be replaced with them

  • @rachaelmatt do you know when?

  • @badboiant29 No I dont :( My dad is a LM driver, thats why I manage to get out and about alot, I will ask him to enquire.

  • @rachaelmatt If you can find out that's great! You know London midland is my fav company XD I live in wolverhampton so I see alot plus I frequently use the Birmingham New street-Liverpool Lime street to see family. Do you know what route its going to be placed on? If you can find that out aswell :D.

  • @badboiant29 The 172's were supposed to be delivered to L.M for July this year but were now looking at early next year. When they come into service they will be running on the Snow Hill lines and will replace all the 150's that currently work that line. I work at Snow Hill station and can't wait for these to be brought into service as at the moment everytime a 150 departs i get attacked by a cloud of diesel smoke, not healthy at all!

    Hope this helps!

  • @dancogswell89 will it be turned into 3rd rail this route

  • @badboiant29 None of the lines are changing to 3rd rail... Its diesel!

  • @rachaelmatt doesn't sound like diesel when it departs

  • @badboiant29 -- It does, or at least I don't feel it like electric.

  • brilliant! sounds different

  • wow at bedford aswell thats cool well done :)

  • engine sounds abit like 175/180 and 185 mixed up together and its the most powerful turbostar ever made

  • Amazing vid m8! Those class 172's look smashing! =-D

  • @simpletimes222 But its the first at Bedford!

  • was this actually in service? great vid btw :D

  • @Electrostar377 No, the inside was still, covered in plastic and stuff, it was totally empty.

  • @rachaelmatt Oh right ok lol :)

  • Nice vid, but i prefer the 168/170 and 171 engines! Did you get a look inside at all? Are they like 378's or are they normal?

  • @CeTrains They have 2+2 seating like other turbostars!

  • @MrGriser no they have 3+2 seating

  • @Charlesn132 That's not what I've heard, I heard they will have less seats than the150s!

  • @MrGriser i got mixed up with another train i saw a picture of the lo 172s and it appears to have 2+2 seating sorry about that

  • @MrGriser yes they do have less seating in favour of more standing space

  • Fantastic vid 5*

  • Excellent Catch well done

The engine is different I reconise that noise on a different train but can't quite remeber
