In other words it's a symbolic message of how people can change the future when they are in the present (when they want to make the choice) but after that your disitions stick which you till your death.
Basically, the events in the game are a series of events that actually never happened. Locke says that you can't change the future, and that is what the ending means. We are seeing the version of events that were erased due to the life choices that Elliot made and the "erased Elliot" is seeing his past as through it is happening now.
I personally haven't seen much lost myself but you know when there was this blue light when you were in the hatch. That's meant to be the radiation which allows you to change the past. So he probably changed the past to prevent Lisa from diying.

The series is about a group of people in a virtual reality simulation. All of them are successful in real-life and the simulation is their fantasies of being losers shipwrecked on an island.
When you die in the simulation, thats just the person being disconnected. The simulation is sometimes rebooted, which is why events repeat.
The last moment will be the last survivor unhooking and being declared the winner for surviving.
The ending would have been okay if they had an explanation for the ending. Come on, as soon as he leaves the island a time loop sets in, it didn't make any sense
I think this is what happens. Since the compass pointed to the way home but what if that pointed him so far? Since the black smoke didn't kill him, it allowed him to continue on his path. Then when he got the "radiation" from the swan station, he could change the past? So as he leaves he flashes back again and does? I don't know.
i love lost. LOVE IT... this game was total garbage, and i managed to play it to completion... it took all of 5 or 6 hours to beat and get 100% of the achievements. seriously, this game doesn't do the lost mythos any justice what-so-ever... the voice acting SUCKS... the game play SUCKS... the story SUCKS ENOUGH... the only thing remotely interesting was they way they segmented the game into "episodes".
Canon-ending explanation: Elliot got to the edge of the island and the "snowglobe effect" kicked in around the same time the hatch blew up (the game ends right around the ending of Season 2-ish), and it bounced him back to the start of the crash (like the Left Behind-ers when Ben turned the wheel) and into an alternate reality. So it was the island's reward for Elliot finding his way home. (which is also why Locke, bizarrely for him, let Elliot leave... cause the island told him too.)
Non-canon real-life ending explanation: Damon Lindeolf came up with the ending for the game designers (dig around IGN for the source) and it's merely there as a hint that time-travel/alternate realities. Since the game came out in the midst of Season 4, that is actually a pretty cool nod forward for people who got through to the ending. One of the big mysteries of the show revealed if you complete it.
The game was worthless, but its ending impressed the shit out of me, considering the game was released before the flashforwards and all the time warp.

I played through the whole game really only because I'm a fan of the show and I wanted to find all the secrets, yeah the game was horrendus but the ending I thought was a real mindfuck. I don't know how season 6 could possibly live up to the high hopes and expectations that everyone has for the show, I know that it'll be awesome. I don't think I really want to know what the smoke monster is, just leave it a mystery because whatever the explanation would be it wouldn't be good enough.
I've never played the game, but it seems that "Elliot" was leaving the island... and then he woke up back on it. Weird. Maybe that was one of those time shifts that happens in the 5th season. Also, the voice of Locke in this is wayyyy to old, and locke wouldn't say "son"; that also portrays him as old.
now they should make a game that actually goes along with the show like play as the actual lost survivors in the show

In the series the plane crashed, Jack passes out and sees all what was happening in the series, then doesn't regain conciousness... but dies.

I played through the whole game really only because I'm a fan of the show and I wanted to find all the secrets, yeah the game was horrendus but the ending I thought was a real mindfuck. I don't know how season 6 could possibly live up to the high hopes and expectations that everyone has for the show, I know that it'll be awesome. I don't think I really want to know what the smoke monster is, just leave it a mystery because whatever the explanation would be it wouldn't be good enough.

I've never played the game, but it seems that "Elliot" was leaving the island... and then he woke up back on it. Weird. Maybe that was one of those time shifts that happens in the 5th season. Also, the voice of Locke in this is wayyyy to old, and locke wouldn't say "son"; that also portrays him as old.
