  • And then people wonder why nascar runs restrictor plates at Daytona/Talladega. I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of speed restriction on ovals for the indy car series next year. It's amazing how quickly this race went from being possibly one of the best races of the season, to one of the worst in history.

  • ovals are meant to kill

  • the last person to die in formula one was Ayrton Senna. that was 1994 blow me.....

  • @saxmanrobg that blew an entire Nation...Ayrton was the best...

  • @otavioandradas Ayrton was the best but he was a bit on the crazy side..an acccident waiting to happen.

  • I never said that no one ever died in f1. Oval racing has proven time and time again to be dangerous. They where traveling at 220mph do you think a wreck at that speed will end good. I love racing, even izod but racing at that speed will only end in tragedy. RIP Dan Weldon I have full respect for him and his family.

  • Dan Wheldon has Passed - 1978-2011 RIP

  • this is why izod should stop racing ovals. look at formula 1 they race technical races never an oval. just cause you can go fast doesn't mean your better. when will american racing wake up.

  • @saxmanrobg I think it's difficult to compare both types of races. Ovals involve tons and tons of adrenaline that F1 doesn't have. I am not discussing safety here, though. There is not question that F1 is way safer. It's a fact: they don't have a wall a few inches from their cars pretty much all the time.

  • @otavioandradas they do in monaco, malaysia, canada..lots of places for hitting a wall in f1..look for the robert kubica accident in montreal .. i was real close in the stands and we heard a huge bang..

  • @klepetar i know what u mean, but the problem with ovals is that it's highest possible risk for the entire race, every second of it. The speed in Monaco is not too high in comparison to ovals. Accidents do happen in both categories, but ovals r super dangerous. Along with the danger, it comes the excitement of the public and the adrenaline of the pilots. Im not defending ovals here, I do think they r too risky, but I am trying to understand why they still race there. Cannot be just the money.

  • @otavioandradas monaco..the prestige..and yes..the money..

  • @saxmanrobg So, no one ever died in an F1 race?

  • Power taken to hospital with back pains.
