Just a few questions. How come that one has a compensator on the end of the barrel? I though they did away with the compensator in WWII. And what do I have to do to get to shoot one of those? I'm young and I want to shoot a full automatic weapon at least once before I die. I do have to agree though, the Thompson is the best submachinegun ever and if it weren't for the new Kriss SMG, I'd say "let's make a modern version of it."
that one may not b an original because the one i shot had it and was made in the 80s and you could go to an automatic range or find someone with a class 3 licence liek i did
I have never seen a Thompson that didnt jam like crazy. the fitment between the receiver and the magazine is just too sloppy to be reliable. If that is the finest automatic that guy has ever shot I would suggest the FNH P90. One of the smoothest gun ever made. but thats my opinion. The AK-47 is also another great automatic rifle. lots of muzzle climb and limited range but its a good gun. alot more reliable than the thompson.

No in COD, the Thomson is generally better then the mp40...
I fired two clips of the Mp40... little to no recoil, ZERO jams, and very accurate for a 9mm SMG.
The thomson is heavy , hard to move around, pretty woeful in terms of accuracy, and the one I tried jammed ever 4 or 7 rounds... it was BIBLICALLY jam prone...
repeat that "no in cod" stop right there first cod is no where in this vid second that games is completely inaccurate on guns third get a life and fourth learn in REAL life than some god damn video game Jesus Christ
well the easiest one to explain would be the mp40 and the thompson. the mp 40 uses 9mm bullets(policemen use) and the thompson during ww2 used .45 cal rounds (which can nearly rip a person in half if held still) reply if your want to hear more.
Yes but It IS more realistic if you would play hardcore, regular is to give people a chance. Hardcore, the thompson literally kills them with 1-2 shots depending where you hit em. MP-40 sucks in WaW soo yeah I Can see where you're going with that :/
2. The particular one I had did, of course new ones in 1944 must have had higher reliability (I hope)
3. MP40 was about 1/3 the cost of a thompson... Of course Germany was running low on cash starting circa 1944 (the year the STG44 came out) and hence the low production numbers.
4. 45 ACP is indeed a superior cartridge (it was also more expensive and heavier then 9mm) but shot for shot... I,d rather have a 45 ACP bullet.
fail

This guy is so fat.
Typical Americans!!!
Moreover Stgw44 was the best weapon of war!
Starlichtwarrior 2 years ago
ok um yes the guy is fat, but statistically the average weight of an american ages 30-39 is 179 pounds, which is medium
and yeah, the stg 44 is the basis of all modern assault rifles, best weapon of wwii

No. Just no.
I call bullshit.
The thompson was one of the most reliable weapons on the battlefield. It wasn't heavy unless your weak.
The mp40 was crappy, cheaply made, horrid accuracy, and the thompson was proven to e better.
Thompson=.45ACP
Mp40=9mm

Sorry, hit the limit of characters.
5. The MP40 did have better accuracy, due to the fact that it shot the 9mm parabellum and it's beautiful mechinism.
6. Read more books, and actually shoot guns.
7. Company of Heroes is WAY better to base opinions off of, though I don't recommend it.
kuroganeki 2 years ago
who fucking cars about Cod?
Mw551 2 years ago 4
Ok, to clear this fucking situation up:
1. Call of Duty is NOT realistic.
2. Thompson jammed a lot, but it was easy to unjam it. And no, it did not jam every fucking 4 to 7 rounds, it would jam every clip or 2.
3. MP40 was not cheap. The Germans ran out of MP40's, STG's, and Panzers so the took the allies weapons and tanks
4. Thompson had a .45ACP, which means it had more stopping power, but less penetration then the 9mm Parabellum.
kuroganeki 2 years ago
1. Agreed
2. The particular one I had did, of course new ones in 1944 must have had higher reliability (I hope)

Yes, the 1944's were more reliable.
kuroganeki 2 years ago
if i'm honest, in any combat situation: I would choose the mp40 9 out of 10 times.
But I greatly admire the thompson. Its just it seems better suited to the mob rather then organized warfare.
