@suznn47 true on that but I know someone who will be 37 in 2 weeks from this past Thursday who knows all of dean martins songs and can sing and sounds just like if he was Dino himself!
TenStarsplus!!!!! This kind of talent will never be seen again!!!! Not only was he a fantabulous singer, but also a master of stand up comedy, or as he probably would have said- falling down comedy!!!! The drunk act was just that, an act because he never touched alcohol while performing!!!!! RIP Dino Crochetti (Dean Martin's real name) we love and miss you!!!!! Thank you for posting this video!!! Kudos!!!
Bluegsp: HealthCare reform has passed Obama wll always be remembered for this and he will most likely be re-elected. If the economy improves before 2012, he will win by a landslide. The wings have grown and the takeoff is all but inevitable.
This was from the 1965 benefit Concert in St. Louis, with the whole "rat Pack"! It was live from the Kiel Opera House, in St. Louis. Frank & Sammy were here too. Some great sounds from this session!
Tony Martin was another crooner that Dean's making reference to, as if Tony was becoming famous off Dean's last name. Dean makes an Italian joke about Tony, all in good fun.
@mocus1 Tony Martin success actually preceded Dino by several years; he charted first in 1938. When Dino did screen tests in the 40's his agent received a response -already have an Italian crooner named Martin - Guess they didn't recognize talent-Dino had to wait until he teamed with Jerry. Anyway Dean and Tony use to tease each other about their name and singing. Yes all in good fun. You can hear the Martins "competing" with the song Anything You Do on the Martin and Lewis radio show
He did say "I will break his legs" It was a running joke that started i believe on the Colgate Comedy Hour when he was still with Jerry Lewis. Tony Martin was their guest with Joe E Lewis and there was a little scene they did. I believe that was where it started although i can't be 100 per cent sure.
This is a great video. Thanks so much for posting it. Dean is hilarious and talented. From 7:10-7:16 his voice is even sexier than usual and the entire clip is just full of his charisma. I am so jealous that I wasn't around to witness the Rat Pack live...They were and still are phenomenal talents!
this recording is from 20 th june 1965 at the Kiel Opera House, St.Louis...
but what ever and when ever was that recording, is always great to hear sing Dino...to see Dino...and i am really thanksfull he did stayed in this world...Dino forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
