Hec, you are even allowed to attempt to recreate the signals you saw and draw them on a piece of paper. No rule prevents a team from hiring someone to do nothing but watch opposing coaches for their signals...But, there IS a very clear rule preventing the use of cameras (motion or still) to tape opposing signals. The Pats should have followed the rules the the rest of the league
