Honestly, that's too drastic of a volume change to apply in real life. You'd be better off using the track mute. Anyway, you're just adjusting the volume in your software. During automation playback, it's very accurate.
@spin467 Not to mention, for some reason, the one(AlTr) in the video is very slow. Mine is no where near that slow. It's just as fast as the Faderport. It works great.
faderport is cool but less mobile ........ it's very nice until you need to find a wall outlet.........while you look for the outlet ..................I'll be mixing with alphatrack powered by usb bus only!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe the fact that the Faderport needs an extra power supply to work in motorized mode has to do with the difference in response. The Faderport may be more accurate, but it NEEDS an extra power supply, it is not enough with the USB connection. I think that there is merit on both sides (portability and ease of use vs accuracy)
i don' belive that, beacuase i can't see the DAW's automation.
you can program in cubase ( for example) with different automation ( with 2 midi controls) it´s easy...., and in this vid u don't see the automation..
But the blue Display is great ;) Also the dark plastic and the GUI-Design. Alphatrack is a great unit get a wonderfull workflow with DAWs without Keyboard or Mouse
It is supposed to show you that the reaction time of the alphatrack is longer than the one of the faderport. The fader is supposed to follow changes/moves of parameters like volume in your software. When the value agressively changes, appareantly the faderport reacts faster than the alphatrack. that is what the video shows.
But I think I'll go for the Alphatrack anyway. more controlers and feedback through the LCD-display, also jog and shuttle
what software do you use?

alphatrack has the features I need, but it does not seem to be as well-built as the faderport and this blue is ugly.. the designer was an idiot!

The Alpha Track is as fast if not faster now, so this test is a waste.

This issue has been addressed already - the new AlphaTracks are on v1.01 on their firmware. They claim they're now even faster than the Faderport
