  • I should hasten to mention, over here, we also deride success. Unlike the USA, we have a monopoly commision, to stop big brands taking over the market. Hey, it's not their fault you don't want to buy an inferior shirt!

  • Where I come from, the UK, only 30% of the electorate voted. We also have an occupy movement full of people who couldn't tell you any sort of alternative to the system we have now. Correlation? All it shows is that the people who couldn't be bothered in the first place, didn't lift a finger to stop this from happening, and are now protesting about the problems in their own lives are the ones to point the finger at.

  • you look so cuddly lol

  • Lol. Hi. xD" Not quite sure if you mentioned me as someone bad or good, actually. I was a bit afraid I told something bad and now your fangirls/fanboys/whatever will come at me or something. haha.

    wellll welcome back or something

and I don't know how to pronounce my username, because I don't pronounce it. I just don't talk about youtube in RL lol. xD"

  • @sichimeko LOL~ No no. I mentioned you in the video as a GOOD thing. :)

  • @sichimeko btw, the way you pronounce my user name is easy!

    mind - of - x - minus

    :D

  • @mindofxminus why yes it is! it's only confusing because its all squished together and people dont know where it ends and begins LOL :D

  • And as for the corporations, WHO'S LETTING THEM JUMP THROUGH? It's the GOVERNMENT. WHO let BP sign off? The GOVERNMENT. They're the ones who didn't want to lose the money that BP was making, so they wanted to make sure that it would stay afloat in the economy by bailing them out! It's RIDICULOUS. The GOVERNMENT is in the wrong, LETTING the corporations get away with things JUST so THEY can make their money and look how much we're suffering 15 TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT. Thanks US government.

  • @AsobiNimiety Yes, I DO agree with you that the government and our system is in the WRONG. Our system is built in a way where no matter what the people with money have the power. And THAT needs to change. And no, I'm guessing you aren't part of my generation, but I am continually being told that if I graduate from college I will be getting a high paying job. I am not paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to get a job working MINIMUM wage.

  • @AsobiNimiety I don't have to go to college to get that minimum wage job. I don't think the rich will spend any less. Hell, people of the lower income levels still spend money on material items and they barely have enough. I'm sure the rich will keep on spending. To be honest, the recession is BARELY affecting the rich... Okay to be honest, I'm an upper middle class kid and I barely feel the effects of the recession (besides the fact that tuition is rising). People will KEEP on spending $

  • @AsobiNimiety This is a capitalistic country, no MATTER what the higher ups, will find WAYS NO MATTER WHAT to have people keep on spending money. So you don't even have to worry about people not spending less. In theory you would THINK they would be a lot more frugal, but in reality that is not the case. Consumerist Propaganda will make you want to spend $ no matter what your income is.

  • @AsobiNimiety The way our system is at the moment is OBVIOUSLY not working since we are in TRILLIONS in debt. In the end that is what I feel. What we have right now is NOT working. We need to CHANGE to see any CHANGE in the system. I feel that we will keep on arguing back and forth forever because our perception and ideologies are polar opposites. It's difficult to change another person's core beliefs and opinions so I will stop here. Good game, AsobiNimiety. :) Have a good rest of the day.

  • @mindofxminus Hahah, very true! Polar opposites indeed! It was nice debating with you! FINALLY someone who has some sense, isn't ridiculous with their statements AND can back it up! :) I definitely respect that! Let's hope the next President will actually LISTEN to what we say and change things for the better! (: Until then, I will scoff in government's direction haha!

  • ur beautiful

  • ur beautiful

  • And the corporation owners worked their asses off to get where they are! Why should they give their hard-earned money to a bunch of people entitled lazy people who are protesting! Sure we can help the poor, but TAKING the money from people is UNNECESSARY!!!! If people want to help the poor they can DONATE! :D

  • @AsobiNimiety Trust me, loopholes are NOT a mythical thing. The corporations are taking away OUR money, we bail them out with all our tax dollars and do you know what they did? They laid off THOUSANDS of more employees and spent the money on big corporate parties and private jets. Didn't you hear of those scandals? The people who are protesting are NOT lazy, they are standing out in the cold protesting for EVERYONE.

  • @mindofxminus No problem! Politics is always fun to debate about! :D And sure there are some protesters that are out there to protest for their good cause, but the majority of them are ABUSING it and aren't even there to protest! The ridiculous amount of people doing drugs, raping people, and the violating of property is outrageous! It's giving them a bad reputation! No wonder they've got cops arresting them! If they're going to protest, can they do it in a way that's not disrepectful!?

  • @AsobiNimiety Those are all scandals, the drugs and raping. There is news that the cops told newly released prisoners and junkies and other types of peoples like those to go over to Zucotti Park to slander the Occupy Movement. Discredit their message in the public's eyes. Trust me. The system is a very scandalous one.

  • And honestly, I DON'T see how it's that difficult to get a job! I've gotten all the jobs I've applied for and barely TRIED! Sure they're not the most high-paying and they're minimum wage, but hey atleast I have one!! I really do thinks it's not the "get the job" part that's difficult, it's just that people aren't getting the jobs they want! Businesses are suffering as well, it's not just the people looking for jobs! They basically have no choice but to pick and choose who they hire.

  • And it's not the corporations, it doesn't start there. It's the GOVERNMENT taxing so heavily on businesses, that they have to lay off so many people in order to make a profit, which is what ALL businesses do. And they're just trying to enjoy the money they have left by spending it on extravagance, it makes perfect sense to me.

  • @AsobiNimiety The government doesn't really tax heavily on businesses. Or atl east as heavy as THEY could be taxing them. They complain about how the government is always taxing on them, while they're jumping through the tax evading loopholes.

  • @AsobiNimiety They are NOT suppose to be spending OUR BAILOUT MONEY on EXTRAVAGANCE. Our bailout money is suppose to have THEM inject MORE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES into our economy. NOT for them to USE TO SELFISHLY INDULGE. They said, "OH if you dont fucking bail us out the economy is going to collapse". So we bailed them out and watch them use our bailout money for their extravagant parties and private jets. That is wrong.

  • And don't generalize the protesters, there ARE good ones who are honestly good-willed and are trying to protest what they believe, but really the 80% of them are not. All they can think is "LOLOL TAX THE BIG CORPORATIONS MORE I WANT MONEY" without seeing the complications that will arise from that, and how taxing the more wealthy people will not benefit at ALL. Everyone should be taxed equally and fairly.

  • @AsobiNimiety If everyone was taxed equally and fairly we would have SUCH a big gap between the rich and the poor. We should not tax the poor as much as the rich. The poor already have BARELY enough money to scrape by living! We don't want money for solely ourselves. We want the high amounts of profits to be taxed. The CORPORATIONS jump through loopholes to pay less in tax. Did you hear how BP magically got a tax write off of $10 BILLION? AFTER THE FUCKED THE GULF OF MEXICO UP!!!?!? SCANDAL!

  • @mindofxminus And it BAFFLES me, how THOSE students are the ones making up the majority of the protesters. And you don't understand how the system works! A LARGE MAJORITY of the poor are ABUSING the fact that they get so much freedom from taxes! They are taking welfare for granted, and instead using the government money to support their family until they get a job they are LIVING off of it! That is MY tax money, and I have the RIGHT to not have it being abused!

  • Do you not get that taxing the rich more with WEAKEN the economy even more!? That's what the Europeans did and LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO THEIR ECONOMY. They are FAILING even more MISERABLY than US! And our government has the AUDACITY to try and mimic them!? If it didn't work for them, what in their RIGHT fucking mind makes them think it will work for us!? It's RIDICULOUS how stupid the government can be!

  • Taxing the rich EVEN HIGHER THAN THEY ARE ALREADY BEING TAXED (35% are you kidding me!?), will make them spend LESS, and making them spend less will make businesses lose money, and businesses losing money will make them have to lay off people, and now those people are having to spend less, and now businesses are making even LESS money, how are they going to pay their HIGH taxes to the government? THEY CAN'T, and now the government isn't making money so they have to RAISE TAXES EVEN MORE. CYCLE.

  • @AsobiNimiety You may not realize it now because of the stuff that you've been taught in school or the opinions of your parents. But they are truly trying to end the corruption. They don't want the corporations to just throw money at them. They want a CHANGE in the system. I know it's hard to realize how hard it is living like the people who are actually really affected by the recession, but we must try to be empathetic. There are students who have bachelor degrees that are NOT able to get job

  • @AsobiNimiety There are SO many unemployed people that are constantly looking around for jobs, but there AREN'T MANY jobs left. The big corporations have invested in employees OVERSEAS where they can make a larger profit because they pay way less for the wages for the 3rd world country employees. Buying things from large corporations like Walmart, H&M, Target, Best Buy, etc, are NOT supporting our economy. These corporations use all their profit into overseas investment, not domestic investment

  • @mindofxminus I'm 27 years old and I've had a lot of jobs, not high-paying but hey! I was making money, but I don't feel entitled for more. It's ridiculous how most of the protesters are straight out of college. That's what's so obnoxious about this generation, they feel that since they spent "so much time" in school (2-4 years, so special) that they need compensation in HIGH paying jobs. That's NOT how real life works. You have to WORK UP, you don't just magically get a high-paying job.

  • @AsobiNimiety Many students are led to believe (tricked) into believing that if the go to COLLEGE and get that bachelor's degree, that they would get a high paying job. THAT is what we were told. And it was all a LIE. That is the part that enrages us the most. We are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for college and this is what we get? A minimum wage job? No. And what's worse, most people go BACK to school to get their masters and get themselves into MORE debt because they don't know

  • @mindofxminus Once again, DO NOT GENERALIZE with your "we"s! And no, students are NOT tricked! No one is saying "go to school, and you'll make HIGH PAY", it was ALWAYS "go to school and you'll get a job/ a better job" I've BEEN TO COLLEGE, I KNOW HOW IT WORKS. I went for four years, not because I wanted a high-paying job. MOST of the students that go to college don't even GO for a career, they only go because it looks better on their resume or they want to party!

  • what else they CAN do. I mean sure, even if all students tried applying for those minimum wage jobs, there WOULDN'T be enough to employ them all. The thing is, they ARE working UP the ladder, by going to college. They are following the rules, and the rules fucked them over.

  • @AsobiNimiety So if anything, BUY from mom and pop shops and small businesses because THAT will actually make a difference in helping out the economy because they will support local farmers, employees, and other local businesses. Mhm! I appreciate your comment though! I'm always open for arguments and beliefs on the other side of the spectrum. I definitely know how you feel. I used to have the same mindset as you, I was raised by very republican, business oriented, capitalist mindsets.

  • @AsobiNimiety Again, thanks for your input AsobiNimiety! I hope you're having a great rest of the day. :)

  • It's the government spending the ridiculous amounts of money! They need to cut back!!!!! People going out and buying stuff benefits the economy! 80% of the people protesting the Occupy Wall St barely know what they're doing! Most of them are people right out of college and jobless! Do people not know that they have to WORK for their money!? Don't just sit there and WAIT for people to give you free money, omg. xD

  • @AsobiNimiety It's not that. I don't have a problem with corporations making a ton of money. No, good for them. What I DO have a problem is that the lobbying and the corruption they commit in the political process that just makes everything unfair for everyone. The lobby for regulations that would give them loopholes that would give them the ability to have HUGE tax cuts. The money that THEY had "earned" is not even fully taxed because of all the legal loopholes they jump through.

  • spoken like a true little rich brat wearing mommas fine clothes & talking on daddy's phone account. this is the crap public school teaches.

  • @MsIDIDIT I bet you're the one who's actually the true little rich brat! :) Please, do tell me what is this "crap" that you speak of that public school teaches? • i dont see why participating in black friday is bad ??

  • @246810hiie We need to realize how much we are unnecessarily consuming/buying things. It's a waste of resources and a waste of money at that. Don't buy things that you don't really need. We need to fight overconsumption! :)
