With the hair shaving, it's a tradition. Like @ASaRLuV said it's a way of letting go. It's a symbolic gift, like taking the "blood of Christ". Same principle. You give money to the church right? You know that the priest isn't literally going "HEY JESUS. THIS IS FOR YOU!" It's just that with everything, someone found a way to capitalize on it.
@AStaRLuV That is awful, in the end, it's all about the money. I believe I have heard they are doing that with kidneys also, stealing them, at least the hair grows out again...
@AStaRLuV no.the reason why they cut their hair is to prove to god that they are not superficial and it's cut in return for a wish or prayer that was fulfilled or in anticipation for a prayer or wish to come true in the future. they are not stupid.they know that god doesn't LITERALLY take their hair.
