Yeah, I like it better too. My only guess as to why he recorded it twice is that you can't do a Jim Croce tribute album and not have this song on it.

I wonder if anyone knows why Jerry would record this song twice, five years apart and put it on two albums. I think I like this version better, not that that matters.
