And if you're gonna play MSP, make sure you know how to use all 3 characters, not just Mag and Storm. Psylocke can be pretty beastly and I've seen some badass Psylocke players whooping some god-tiers fruity booties.

Quick question, i've always played this game on console with a controller - i know most of the greats play on arcade or with an arcade stick - can these ppl still pull off the same moves on a controller

The moves can still be performed - it's just having to adjust to playing with a stick vice an arcade cabinet. I've made adjustments since then. Read the rest of my responses.

Match-ups:

Cable vs Storm- Cable has a great chance at beating her, because she is open with her hailstorm....

Cable vs Mags- Mags takes it hands down, cause he'll be all in Cable's grill. Cable isnt mobile enough to handle that..

Cable vs Sent- Another match he most likely will win. Sent is slow compared to Cable, and his hvb will expose Sent's "zoomers" (slow reaction time.....).

Cable can be pretty good, but never God-tier-ish....IMAO.....

Yeah...But even though Icepick takes no damage from Cable, he'll most likely slip up, and eat several hvb's. A good defensive Icey could beat em', but most Icey players get too cocky, and eat hvb's.

He takes damage from elec-trap, psimitar, and phy charge. But the viper beam and ahvb wont do damge. I said that in the sense that most likely Cable is using viper beam a lot, for bait. Against Iceman, he would use the same chip tactics w/Sent force etc., but he wont have the pleasure of using vipers or hyper vipers for chip. He will beat Ice most of the time, because Ice is kinda sluggish as far as mobility IMO. And Cable can catch him icebeaming with hvb. I didnt mean hes invincible vs Cable

I was talking about Iceman taking chip damage from Cable, and you clearly didnt read the post. Because you woulve seen that I actually mentioned that Cable's ahvb would catch most Iceman at some point in the game. Dont be a person who uploads vids, but talk retarded. Thats kinda sour for you to be that way with the appreciation of loading MvC2 vids, something a lot of people are very happy you done. Thanks.....

The matches are coming from local katz I meet at the arcade - Some are friends ans what not.

As for the source of video, these matches are recorded on DC via direct PC capture. Using a splitter and Dazzle.

Actually, you're wrong about that. There is one super that can beat Cable's AHVB and people get so annoyed when it happens. That is Cammy's [Killer Bee Assault.] That shit can almost go through anything.

He might not be as good as Cable, but he can truly frustrate him with aerial icebeam chip damage. High and at a distance, that Cable cant effectively counter with ahvb. He has some benefits, but Cable would catch him eventually slipping. Dude, Im pretty good at MvC2, you wont be convinced until I upload some of my combos (which will happen in the near future). Im in the process of either getting a stick, or a webcam. I think I'll get the webcam, so I can shut some of those SRK members up.

i disagree with cable vs storm.. i know storm wins it since she can do pretty much everything mag does as far as offensive pressure. (minus infinite) and has the ability to run away better than any character.

you dont use chip hailstorm vs cable or u get owned just rush and avoid assists.

People who play Iceman have to play very wise, because he has low stamina, and doesnt have much on the offensive side (as far as great combo-ability). While chp damage is great, that alone isnt enough to intimidate an opponent. Against Cable, he will become stagnant, becasuse he fears a whffing icebeam, or the more mobile Cable combo into avhbs. But, you knew that already....so, Im just rehashing what you just said...oops!!!! LOL

Low tier is fun when it's just casual. But if you want to win against top players, you play with the big boys! Cut and Dry.

Not necessarily. You can play mid to top tier, and still win. Its about great defense, great offense, and a understanding of the game. Personally, Cable is NOT God-tier. If your character cant really survive on their own, then they are not God-tier. Cable is assist-based, meaning most of his damage comes from either assist combos, or assist "tempting" (watiing to hvb). I would have cyclops over cable, because he has a better defense, better combos, and better assists.

You'd be surprised to see how bad the pro players can beat average players with below average characters. Ask Justin, Sanford, or anybody in top 20 in the nation to use low tier and you'll be blown away. They have a different understanding of spacial and timing dimensions than most people.... good news is most people can get this through non-stop playing against good comp.

Theyre not cheap, but are kinda gay. Mainly Cable, everyone else fights pretty much fairly. But Cable has no real authentic combos, so he relies on his hvb a lot (maybe 99.9% of the time..) Theyre combos, but in REAL matches (and not combo vids..) pl8rs stick to baiting to hvb.

Yes! This is on the DC console. The sticks were not modified then. No! This is the not Japan thing. We are both AMERICAN players and living here. My friend was out of the Marvel scene for like a year and half before getting back in the groove. That along with playing on someone else stick (mine) was a factor. Japanese HRAP's take some time to get used. Since then, my sticks and buttons have all been swapped out to Sanwa, got a small table and chair and a non-slip mat! My home arcade :)

Yeah! I'm thinking how much longer us grown men will continue the journey of Marvel Madness. It always amazes me till this day that grown men in business suits, "salary man" as they say in Japan, line up and fill the arcades for games that are much older than Marvel - like Street Fighter 2. This game and Third Strike got the whole place packed.

Thanks! As you can tell, we both experienced lot's of random commands. Both sticks are HORI RA which have the turbo buttons on top and an eight button layout. Plan to remove these extra buttons and maybe sum Duct Tape on the others. Great sticks - but not modified in anyway. Not yet! Being in a seated position, like Japanese arcade styles is best for me. So many mistakes. And video doesn't lie.  Damn!
