When I saw that Mike's bed was filled with kids I wondered where she'd sleep and then this little picture popped into my head... Sully standing in front of his lean-to with a big fire going. "You can sleep with me, Dr. Mike. I'll keep you warm." And then she sat in the rocking chair. *Sigh*

Unfortunately so many of these Orphan Train children were "adopted" as farm laborers. I can't recall if there were orphan trains in this time period or if it's another example of the writers playing fast and loose with history. In any event, thanks for sharing. :)

I was so curious I read up on it. The writers were correct, these trains ran from the 1850s through the 1930s.

Matthew's hair has changed length a lot in the past couple episodes. It goes from being short to long to short again.

I think after they filmed the episodes they rearranged some of the "filler" episodes where nothing too important happens, maybe that's why Matthew's hair keeps going long then short.
