  • and the college thing... theyre already in competition, if you take out public colleges, that actually leaves less competition. in addition, the point you made at the end sounds nice, but remember the articles of confederation? that led to anrchy like shays rebellion. some bureaucracy's are good, like the CIA

  • @lilcheap2 The CIA is a monstrosity that should be shut down and its employees tried for treason. Shays Rebellion was a good rebellion and the suppression of the rebels was tyrannical. Did you know that the government stole not only all their property, but homes as well making paupers out of thousands of commoners, all to pay debts to foreign governments, instead of standing up and telling the foreign governments they'd have to wait, those bastards reverted to Statists and robbed the people.

  • i feel what your saying believe me, im a huge fan of small government. but your views seem a little extreme. i mean, i like the idea of the gold standard, but the FED does a pretty good job of further reducing the federal government's power, not expanding it. the FBI may be a little superfluous, but i dont know many people who would argue that it does more harm than good, ya know?

  • I agree. The imature needs to really live. I'll take my pension elsewhere as well as other Federal Civil Clergy. I am no politician and thats not my job. A good lesson you will suffer for the Federal Bureaucracy is that of spain, and this war without Federal Bureaucracy will be lost in the USA. The wrong is the public that demands a drug

  • I'm sure glad that the FCC is around to make sure that a conglomeration of hyper wealthy Arab states can't come in and buy the internet . Go free market go!

  • You lie almost as well as Obama... how do you think those Arab states became wealthy? Because special interests in our own government prevented our own businesses from providing our country with oil. We haven't built a refinery since the 70s and there hasn't been any offshore drilling in California or Florida (two of the largest reservoirs in the US) in over 2 decades. Big Government, the FCC and the rest of you Fascist bastards can go to hell.

  • So.. as stock market and financial sector became a larger portion of the us economy, and was making good money following deregulation, it seemed so good The catch was.. during this time less US products (manufacturing) were actually being produced! The profits generated during the boom were infact not "real productivity" but millions of IOU's

(home buyer loans) that without a manufacturing base to pay for were infact worth nothing... anyways hows the weather dude? its beautiful day here!

  • What deregulation??? There was never any deregulation!!! Just because some idiot talking head tells you there is deregulation you believe them? It was all sleight of hand. There has been heavy handed regulation ever since the 1930s that has favored those the politicians wanted it to favor. The booms and busts have not been real... not entirely that is. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac... government shadow agencies. There is a incestuous relationship with the GMOs and the Government.

  • A) the boom of 1995-2005 led to the manifestation of unrealistic financial philosophical aspirations. the eventual deregulation of finance law of the bush years (inspired in part by hayekian -raynd style philosophy) then led to the sub prime disaster... (everyone owning there own home is a great idea in theory, and solidifies societal faith in capitalism) however in the mid bush yrs the US became too heavily dependant on the financial sector manufacturing waned and china boomed.houseofcards

  • First, Austrian Economics has been proven every single time it has been tried. Everything you just said never happened. Deregulation never happened. There were more regulations during the Bush years than during the Clinton years. Regulations have only ever increased in 70 years. The sub-prime mess is directly attributable to the Community Reinvestment Act and congressmen like Barney Frank and all the Democrats. The lie has been that capitalism and the free markets failed. Socialism has failed.

  • A) at June 14, 2009 you say "it looks like were headed another great depression" bit late there... by about 2 years.

B)"Eliminate all Federal Bureaucracies" is for anarcho hunter gatherers, enjoy the caveman life style...it suits you. (while you have no fbi etc we sensible organized nations will take advantage invade and nuke you... with inside operatives)

    C) read some economics books, its not keynes its hayekian economics that crashed the world markets. bit late there... by about 200 years.

  • A) Would never have happened if taxes had been lowered to 10% across the board and capital gains lowered to 5%. We'd be in an economic boom like has never been seen.

    B) Ad Hominem attacks prove how little of an argument you actually have. My points are valid. Yours are not!

    C) You really don't get economics do you? But then, your kind never does. Its your hubris. Its innate in your kind.

Oh, and anarcho hunter gatherers? Really, is that the best you can do?

  • The FED should be the first to go. Silver and Gold all the way.

  • While I agree that the Federal Reserve must go... you do know it is not a Federal Bureaucracy right? It does not even belong to the US Government. It is a private entity. I'm just talking about the bureacracies that are 100% owned and run by our Gov like the ATF and such... the BATFE must be eliminated just like all other bloated unconstitutional federal bureaucracies.

  • Yes I am aware the FED is Private and currently accountable to nobody but themselves. This IMO makes them even more of a concern. The reason we have inflation/deflation is because of the FED.

  • So while it is an issue of equal importance, it is a different issue from what I am saying here. I'm talking about abolishing all Federal Bureaucracies as unconstitutional constructs and reducing the size of our government by 90%. Wouldn't it be nice to see a budget of only 55 billion for the whole Federal Government? It will come. Because if it does not, war will come.

  • I agree with that as well...

  • The edit page is way buggy, I had tons of tags when I uploaded... and a nice long discription... all of which dissapeared. Now if I try and cut and paste my tags, it tells me I have no tags, so I have to enter in tags three or four at a time and save.
