  • those are some gay ass pushups..

  • @fall0rn Bet you cant even do one

  • Legend has it that the Great Gama of India, who never lost once in 5000 matches, did 2,000 dands each day. he exercise, making it a compound movment hitting all the major muscle groups, including the legs, back, chest, shoulders, arms, hips and abdominals. In addition to this exercise hitting all the major muscle groups, it strengthens and tones the internal organs as well. Doing this exercise increases lung power, improves digestion and as many have discovered, increases sex drive and stamina.

  • not hard at all anymore

  • i broke my dick in my girls asshole doing this

  • This looks so wrong, lol. xD

  • Its called SURYANAMASKARS

  • One problem with the form here: Keep your elbows closer to your sides and feet shoulder width apart

  • I just did 15 of these no problem. its not that hard guys

  • @darkrular31 then you probably did it the wrong way. did you properly get to cobra pose? i doubt it

  • @hershp well i can't see myself so... :/

  • hes not doing it the right way,not even close!!

  • It relaxes different muscles! lower back, upper back, neck etc etc. SO I try this as a warm up

  • I am a Hindu from India...the origin of these push ups dates back to 500-700 BC...i only feel pity that we Indian ourselves forgot these methods of work out and our 60% of new generation is grappling with obesity and ill health...It is regretted

  • @dipak1728 only way to change it is to start yourself and then get more people to work out with you! we're in the same situation here in america! good luck brother!

  • @dipak1728

You could say the whole world. Somewhere along the line, we as society lost our way.

  • Try and do these as slow as you can. Theyy hurt like helllllllllll

  • This is called hindu push-ups?Never heard of them,or done them. But if I had to give it a name I would call them "fucking push-ups".

  • this looks really wrong. lol.

  • i tried them, it's a good exercise, but i still feel like a dog in heat doing it

  • f u alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • He is making a sexual intercourse with the earth. Good luck with that

  • Is That Really A Hindu Push Up???lol

  • That's is downward facing dog pose to upward camel pose in yoga...women do this alot in yoga sorry guys but we own this too

  • @amwest0509 yeah but its done with alot more intensity then dog down / camel :P

  • You're meant to follow your original motion back through, not just lift straight up once youre in the cobra position..

  • @db500092 That's the dive bomber, darling.

  • these are pretty brutal.

  • I have been doing these for two weeks and I can already see the difference, trust me, once you have good form, which only takes a few days, they are a great exercise

  • Anyone know if going back to starting position the same way you extended (a.k.a. reverse hindu push up) a good exercise?

  • Comment removed

  • do i have to be hindu to do these pushups?

  • @DonkeyKong96 yes.

  • @DonkeyKong96 NO.. IT'S JUST THAT Hindu gurus developed this... just like Einstein developed so many things but his theories are used by many..

  • @DonkeyKong96 No, but realize that they are a form of Yoga, which many Christians consider to be idolatry. Check with your pastor before doing these pushups !!

  • I started doing these a few years ago. Trust me; the weird looks you get from the other people at the gym aside, they work. If it wasn't for these style of push ups I would likely never been able to bump up and bench press my own weight.

  • You're missing at the beginning and half-way point. You need to look all the way behind you; and you need to look all the way up.

  • Aren't these dive bomber push ups? I thought hindu was the one where you go up and reverse just like in the video, instead of lifting the hip up and then sitting back.

  • @Onibomb No, these are Hindu pushups. Dive bomber pushups have you go in reverse after the position where you're looking up, making you bend and use your arms to get back to that v position. Hindu push ups require you to keep your arms straight and to use your back to get back to the v position.

  • cant blame hindus, India invented the sex book so im not surprised they shared the same actions......ok joke is over

    Thats looks challenging

  • his feet are way too wide apart. Shows how inflexible he is...

  • YEAH!!! This is what I'm gonna do to my girlfriend tonight...

  • @RichardArendsen nice aim.

  • @RichardArendsen

You think your pathetic filth is humorous? You probably don't even HAVE a "girlfriend"..so find one, and be respectful to her....rather than befoul the world with your weak and pathetic 12-year-old bullshit..

  • @DarumaXIV what's your problem dickhead. go fuck yourself

  • @RichardArendsen

I have to agree with Daruma on this one.

Respect is dead in today's society and even evolutionarily speaking it doesn't really make much sense.

  • @DarumaXIV Maybe you should go take a couple of deep breaths and rethink your communication strategy here please... its a video about push ups, not a platform for putting others down.

  • @MrMajesticTree I have to agree with Daruma...What's the "tonight I'm gonna do this to my girlfriend" crap? That truly IS some "12 year old bullshit".

  • Its called Surya Namaskar, a Part from Yogasana

  • dude... are u having a boner

  • Youre doing an easier version of them. To get maximum benefit youre supposed to keep your ebows tucked in at your sides, feet together for greater instability and once reaching the exhale point, role back through the same motion to the starting position. Should take about 5 seconds or so to complete one rep. I hated my sifu through each and every one he made us perform of these.

  • just tried these and trust me this is a killer exercise. My shoulders and upper arms are burning like mad. More of this from now on.

  • I always bust out in the gym and start doing these infront of all the ladies.

  • @vexed334 - are the ladies impressed?

  • he needs to tuck his head in more as this will increase upper back and shoulder activation, not bend his knees as this transfers weight to the lower body, and press back and through the muscles he lowered with. viewing from the front, his motion is horrendous.

  • im sorry i know this is really effective pushup but im laughing my butt off

  • now why are these kind of pushups better then the normal ones?

  • @lovitza2

Because it works your entire body and not just your arms/pecs.

It's also an extremely good exercise for your back, provided you stretch properly and use your back to push yourself up, instead of your arms.

This way, you work your arms when going down first, then your back to tilt your head up, and then the reverse movement ends up working the arms and pecs again.

With proper breathing patterns, it makes for a pretty complete exercise...

  • @DaBhaalspawn well by the way it looks im gonna need a personal trainer to do those..they look difficult..

  • @lovitza2

    Believe me, they are.

I never felt so hot in my entire body than when doing this exercise (my arms and pecs are not that strong so that may be a factor).

You don't need a personal trainer, just focus on three steps.

First, get down putting all pressure in your arms (you should now be almost horizontal), then, use YOUR BACK (not your arms, just use them for balance) to tilt your head up, and then focus on moving your butt back to position.

The difficult part is doing many many reps

  • @DaBhaalspawn ty for your help...i got to say they are wierd..:D im still not doing them perfectly..but with a little practice i think i can manage:)

  • @lovitza2

trust me, try them.. you'll die lol . they hurt more because with normal PU's, you just go up down, and only work against gravity on the wat up, whereas with the Hindus, you must control your body the whole way, there's some sorta time under tension kinda element, just google it (Y)

  • @sexuallyawkward yea their harder than supermans

  • does any1 find this sexual in any way or form??

  • What religions are wrong and right? - iuchat . com

  • awsome!

  • A Gtreat exercise to increase your strength.

  • he looks like a human penis

  • I know Indian wrestler do this in akhadas............

  • Your doin em wrong..

  • UPDATE: I can now do 39 in a row! Little by little...

  • Comment removed

  • i did 10 of them and now i want to do more :( But I did them slightly different, after i do the push up i would do a reverse following the same way i came ;x

  • when you get done with one dip and come up you can release your pain with shoutinging O,o nah but really, you're wife will love you after you're a pro at this

  • all hindu excercises look fucking gay as fuck

  • @alexsmeels Go ahead and say that to a person who does a few hundred of em a day and see how you feel afterward. :P

  • @alexsmeels

but looks like the whole world seems to be following em...be it yoga or exercises

  • hey Hindu call it Dand ... Hindu Pehalwaan can do 500- 2000 ...U said dat u ll die afta 50 .. haha

  • These push ups are good exercise for triceps and chest, and hard to do correctly as compared to normal push up.

  • i call it the dive bomber

  • @earlcamblelover hindu and divebomber are different. hindu involves only one bend of the arms during one rep

  • this is one badass exercise.......do 50 and you'll die the next day

  • That's a surya namaskar. And that's not even a third of it, you think 5 are hard to do? We had to do 10 full versions every 2 hours at a camp i went to. Ouch. Youtube the full version, it's called the That's a surya namaskar. And that's not even a third of it, you think 5 are hard to do? We had to do 10 full versions every 2 hours at a camp i went to. Ouch. Here's the full version if you wanna check it out..

Do one of those in fast motion should take about 20 seconds

  • @kevin042897

    youtube the tut

  • this is good sex preparation :D

  • i can just hear a fart waiting to come out

  • This is harder than it looks. DAMN

  • I can do 23 in a row before my arms get nuked, as of today!

    I just could do 10-12 on December 24 2009!

    Not bad, huh?

I hope to get to the magical 50 on December 24 2010!!!!!

  • Nuked?

    no1 uses this word.... idiot

  • @AxePowerx You just did yourself so that makes you idiot number 2, pendejete!

  • This is one of the best,if not the best exercise for training the upper body.Combine these with pistol squats instead of hindu squats and you really build tremendous power throughout the entire body!

  • hindus rule

  • In addition to this i would also like to mention that though the technique displayed in the above video is correct, the excersice would remain incomplete if not performed with correct breathing (inhalation-exahalation) process. it would also be extremely benefecial if a prior round of chanting 'Aum' is done before starting the excersice. doing so brings the body in resonance with the five elements of earth.

  • dont call it a 'hindu push-up'

its actually called a 'Surya-Namaskar', it is ideally performed during sunrise, the name literally means , 'sun-greeting'.

Ancient Hindu literaturea gives the Sun,the eternal source of life, a very significant place in its philosophy. and it was a important ritual amongs our ancestors to begin the day 'by greeting the sun'..hence the name!

  • azaria... and from you who worship death and murder... look at Pakistan and the killing which is daily.... from Islam! Shanti!

  • so any1 know if this pushup exercises muscles differently from a regular pushup?

  • how's the breathing during this exercise?

  • Comment removed

  • guys whats with the history like were trying to figure how to do this and ur in some nex dimension

  • rofl!

  • lol at the slow motion

  • All those civilizations have stories for how they got their wisdom and knowledge. All of them, no exception, claim that they were bestowed the knowledge from "gods", divine beings, super men, etc.

Can you imagine Bill Gates creating Microsoft and then telling the world "No I didn't make it, the gods honored us with it." ?

That happens globally with all kinds of knowledge - especially the kind they couldn't possibly have, like the Dogon tribe of Africa knowing about binary star systems.

  • you keep watching tv.

  • @TurKdiRty i don't watch television, i read books, and follow evidence. and there is so much evidence, that denying it is an act of ignorance or idiocy.

  • What kind of acid are you on dude?

You watched this video and chose to respond with all this shizzle?!

What the fuck has what you're saying got to do with this video?

  • @idiotzrule it was a response to an earlier comment. It's relevant, because the issue being discussed was why various cultures lay claim to various knowledge. "hindu pushup" implies hindus invented it. see the connection now?

  • Yea, what kind of acid you on?

  • have you ever even taken acid? what's with all your ridiculous negativity?

  • Have I ever even taken acid?! I have asked you twice now, what acid are you on and wont give me a god damn answer!

Now listen you ghastly lounge lizard, you're coming up with all this "negativity" stuff, stop swerving the question and fess up because I wont be asking a third time!

Im starting to get the feeling that a knuckle sandwich is the only thing you'll understand!

    =]

  • The further back you go, the more muddled the history gets. Europeans and Jews getting their knowledge from the Egyptians, while the Chinese got their knowledge from the Indians.

But before 4000 BC there's lots of confusion. Indus Valley was one giant kingdom once thought to be 3 separate. Doesn't matter much because all these groups were themselves the inheritors of a far-older tradition seemingly dating back to the last ice age 12000 years ago.

  • @a far-older tradition seemingly dating back to the last ice age 12000 years ago

i havent read anything from any of those cultures that would claim to be from an ancient culture. closest thing i can think of is the rigvedas, but seems to be more of an extension of their own culture rather than a different culture. secondly theres no actual evidence of any civilization existing back that far. if you are getting it from stories, its just conjecture and myths. could have some basis but no evidence

  • @wunksta there's archeological evidence all over the place, but most of it is underwater nowadays due to rising sea levels. egyptian records have king lists that go back at least that far.

the sphinx enclosure has erosion marks that can only be caused by thousands of years of rainfall according to geologists (not egyptologists). Egypt's been dry for 6000+ years.

  • @zapproowsdower

egyptian king lists go back to around 3000bc, far less than 12000 years. were are you getting its older than that?

and even if the sphinx does have water erosion, it would still put its age at the earliest 5000-3000 years ago, and sometime during the green age of egypt

there is no reason to believe the sphinx, or anything related to egypt, sumeria or india is beyond 10,000 years bc let alone any evidence to support any civilization older than that.

  • cool

  • @lasog341 Hindu squats were developed by yogis of india thousands of centuries ago and later on were used by wrestlers in india.Thats why hindu squats or Dands as may be called in Hindi Language.

  • and pushups(Dands means pushups....Baithaks means squats

  • @lasog341 You appear to be a muslim, thats why making fun of hindus.Moron have you ever met Hindus from JAT community of India. They are the forefathers of the Scythians and other warrior tribes of central asia and germanic tribes. They can smash your stinking ass in seconds. And dont start your racial overtones here..

  • sorry mate, you have got it all wrong, the hindu JATS are one of the most powerfull people. These are the same JATS whom alexander had to face and got serious wound and went into coma and lost thousands of his soldiers first time in his campaign as a result abandoned his expansion plans. And as for the sikhs you said they are a race formed to fight the moslem invaders and the Hindus took to this religion and JATS are main core of their population too.

  • actually sikhs were formed to fight tyranny they fought against hindu and muslim rulers that were hurting the hindu and muslim common man...the rajput kings were working with Muslim rulers and fighting along thier side as well

  • u r wrong here buddy the sikh gurus were hindus who formed this sect to fight the muslims tyranny not the hindus, as the strong hindu tribes themselves made this religion to take on the muslims and the most warrior and martial race in hindus was JATS as such they are the baasis of sikh religion.Man i have been to india with an indian friend and they are hindu jats and i found their folks big strong lads.

  • SO buddy go and have your history classes and we can enjoy the HINDU PUSHUPS.

  • My arms were wiped out after... FIVE of them. (gulp). I gotta unwimpify myself by doing them DAILY.

  • @amazingdany UPDATE: after four months, I can proudly say that I can do 33 of them in a row! Ho ho! I set a goal to do 50 of them in a row before Christmas 2010, looks like I'm gonna reach it much sooner! YES!

  • Hmm Normal pushs are harder? I can do more of these than normal pushups so whats the big deal?

  • You should combine them with regular push ups.

The hindu push up works out more parts of your upper body.

  • Now dont start racial bla bla here ,the hindu pushup were developed by hindu yogis evrybody knows that, next u come here and would say yoga was also stolen by the hindu yogis. You appear to be quite anti hindu.CHILL M AN enjoy the pushups.

  • @lasog341

says a guy whose country stole everything from the Hindus and patented it all. I'm talking about America, of course.

  • I have a question about hindu pushups

How important is the feet position? I tried putting my feet at normal pushup position and wide position but i actually get better results when my feet are in normal pushup position than wide

Does this exercise have to be done with feet wide apart?

  • I'm not sure, but when I do it wide at shoulder width it seems easier to rotate your body and put less stress on the joints.

  • Heya,

Doing them with your feet at different positions is actually just variations on the same exercise (wide vs narrow).

The "standard" way i've heard of is to put them a little more than shoulder width apart - about as much as this guy does them. Check it out when he shows you the "from the front" view and you can try and do it in a mirror to get the same width if you want to.

  • Thanks a lot, i'll take these tips into consideration

  • We call these "Praying Monkeys". They're used a lot at parkour jams and sessions for conditioning. If you do too many at once you'll liquefy your arms though.

  • these were recommended to me by a friend. He said it tore his upper body apart haha and now I can see why. I'm so gonna try this!

  • gay

  • It looks as if he's omitting part of the actual pushup. At least according to the way I learned it.

  • Hindu pushups? More like the babymaker.

  • @zoobtoob Well there are over a billion Indians...... :p

  • @zoobtoob LUL

  • Has anyone else noticed how much easier passing waste (shitting) becomes when hindu pushups are performed regularly?

  • LOL

  • Ha! Is that a 'yes'? lol

  • @TenderTrap86

You serious? I need to try it then...

  • Yeah, it does that for me at least. I heard a lot about colon cleansing and after someone does it they have nice long, thick, curvy terds (sorry lol). That's what happens to me. After I get off the toilet in the midst of doing these over a few days. or just one day sometimes, I feel empty. It also doesn't take long, so you don't need reading material. I get on and I get off. PS I also notice that it smells like shit should, but it's never foul smelling. Try it, maybe it'll do the same for you.

  • The long, thick and curvy turds sounds good. It's been a while since I've seen mine so I don't really know how it looks, last I saw it it was a bunch of big and chunky pieces. But that was when I used to be able to excrete without problems. Nowadays it takes me 20 to 30 minutes sitting to properly finish up so I reckon I'll try it.

    Thanks for the tip.

  • Remember to really put your hips into it.

  • the first time i did this i fell flat on my face. It's harder than it looks.

  • @vettefreak90 yo i scraped my chin

  • weakling

  • no joke. I seriously need to get back in shape.

  • Well then you should do lots of these

  • nice garden

  • i think i'm doing it wrong, my shoulders hurt and pop everytime lol

  • heavyweights-ben stiller

  • that it's actually a good exercise a little bit harder then a reagular push up but good!!!

  • You idiot. I said BRAIN defect, which you surely must have. And why do reply at least 4-6 times to everything? One comment at this level of stupidity is far more then enough.

  • Just switched over from conventional push ups to these recently; this morning was my first full set. I can do 100 regular push ups with no problem, but THESE? Let's just say it's going to take a while to build up to 100, lol!

  • i thought your feet shouldn't be wider apart than your shoulders? is this guy doing it wrong or did I leanr it wrong?

  • They should be in line, that is how I do it.

  • thats only half the exercise because your only going forward if you really want full developement you have to go forward and then backward - back is usually twice as hard!

  • That is how they do it in Punjab! Sikh men do 5000 reps.

  • ya :P thtz y they all r fat.......no1 has ever come from india for mr.olympia

  • I have to try these hindu things.. it must be quite hard.. but I must admit they do look funny, lol

  • They are actually called 'hindu pushups' because the excercise itself was created in India. I am sure they are called something else somewhere, but 'hindu pushup' seems to be the name most people know them by.

  • I call that one the heave ho, dunno bout the rest of you. lol

  • itz hilarious.........letz check out the muscles u make even after 1000 reps of it..........0% :P

thtz y all u hindus r mostly fat...use dumbbells or american style pushups.......stupids

  • No. You are a fucking redneck. You see only Hindus of high caste. Also muscles can't be measured in percentages. Do you perhaps have a mental defect?

  • Comment removed

  • n listen u dumbass....stop swearing...

  • listen to this fool swearing while he's telling someone else not to.

  • u guys r still talking....:P chill out ..ok ur pushups suck ....a little ....
