Thanks a ton, daniewf! I made a special effort to see your dad several times in the Toronto area and Niagara Falls when I was in high school. He and his mates were creative, original, and I found their music moving and entertaining. I sincerely hope that your dad is well, as well as his collaborators.
just sat thinking of this song.looked it up here and bingo.great job you done here daniewf.i for one like the crackling..reminds me of simpler by gone times when i used to sit listening to my music in my bedroom.Your dad looked like a cool dude..hope he still is. i loved this album..gonna tell my music addict son about it..
By luck I found Garfields name again from the past when I was 14 listening to CFNY. Sought out the music and of course found a few songs on "the youber" This was my favourite. The dudes at 102 obviously loved his stuff and of course deserving. Really moving piece of music and takes me way way back (hurts a bit really). I kept it on my bedroom radio all the time (low all night so only I could hear if I woke up). These songs shaped me. Now the big question; What happened to Garfield French!!??
A few years back, I ran the PA system in our facility. So EVERYBODY had to listen to my music! The youth were outraged. Slowly they asked me about the songs, mostly though about "All Alone Again". When it didn't make it in the rotation for a particular night, they were outraged again! I HAD TO GO BACK TO MY iPOD AND PLAY IT, or they wouldn't leave, happy! 8X one night —sheesh! You know it's really SAD this song is not re-released. Should be in a movie soundtrack. It's a very moving song~
sounds like you recorded with a microphone and old boombox speakers. Nice tune & a good dynamic writer. Saw them at "Armadillo World Headquarters" in about 1979 - 1980. If I can't find "Play it Again Boys", I'll post it...one of my favorites.....thanks
Thanks for posting, I saw them in Montreal, i think 78...thought they were great..still play my vinyl albums occasionally.. been looking for their music on the web, you tube for a while... Anybody have any video (movie clips) from the shows?
This was before my time, I was born in the very late 60's; however, I love their music, especially "Private Affair" and "All Alone Again". They may sound depressing, but they speak to the heart and soul. I sometimes am alone and sometimes drink my wine.
Whatever happened to these guys ... ? I still play my Strange Streets album ... is your Dad still living ? Making Music ? Will there ever be a CD release of old material ?

Hi Daniewf! I saw Garfield perform in Quebec City (or was it Montreal) in the late 70's. His voice is remarkable. I too love this song. Thank you so much for sharing...
