I don't think her stage presence is perfect-more to the opposite way, it doesn't fit the feeling those songs are supposed to transmite. She's got a good stage presence as long as you don't hear the music she's related to, and she would do fine in another style, but I don't see her fitting in Tristania (at least, the old sound which I love)
She is entertaining and she moves a lot something Vibeke almost never did...Vibeke could dance sometimes but she was still standing still having her legs att the same spot durring the entire concert and that is really boring no mater of beautiful your voice is etc...Mary is heartfull she always talks and hang out with the fans which is something a artist should do...So Mary is perfect however her voice needs training if she is going to please old Tristania fans..
I don't agree, for me, Vibeke's attitude on stage was just the best possible compliment to Tristania's music. She gave it all the mysticism and elegance the band had. Of course, an attitude like Mary's is more dynamic and entertaining if you want to consider it, but doesn't have anything to do with the music sounding behind, leading to be something out of place. She's a good performer, but doesn't give the "Tristania" so gothic, introspective feeling Vibeke always gave, I'm sorry.
Sure Vibeke gives of a feeling of gothic and darkness which created an atmosphare of epic which kinda is the soul of Tristania but I got tired of it while seeing Vibeke doing the same thing during a 1.5 hour concert..No interfearing with the crowd or what so ever made the concerts boring after a while...I understand what you mean but if you have been on a Tristania concert with VIbeke you will understand what I mean...Dont get me wrong I love and treasure Vibeke.

When did Vibeke ever contribute to the songwriting? In 10 whole years; not a single contribution. Marys already written songs and lyrics for the band. PLUS, she has a university degree. @youresickable dont you screw whit vibeke, there is a lot of things that make a person a real singer but the most important thing is obviusly the voice and mary do not have the half of the voice that vibeke used to had, so there is another example, annete olzon do not fill the hole that tarja left behind in nigtwish, is just the same thing and see the things by other side, tristania right now is like evanescence and the music that they play is not even close to the style that they had before

I never got tired of Vibeke's performance, her dancing was great! I miss her so much, this woman's style doesn't fit with Tristania's song. This is sad... for me :P

The new singer has obvisously got a beautiful voice and lot of talent but I wonder why they don't think about letting her sing a little bit more, there are a lot of parts in this song where she could sing...or maybe she's not a singer, just a dancer as fantomex7 said!!

But I will confess Mary do a better job than Vibeke on turing on the audience! Her stage energy is perfect and she moves around everytime and it doesn't get boring even tho her vocals are off

I don't think her stage presence is perfect-more to the opposite way, it doesn't fit the feeling those songs are supposed to transmite. She's got a good stage presence as long as you don't hear the music she's related to, and she would do fine in another style, but I don't see her fitting in Tristania (at least, the old sound which I love)

She is entertaining and she moves a lot something Vibeke almost never did...Vibeke could dance sometimes but she was still standing still having her legs att the same spot durring the entire concert and that is really boring no mater of beautiful your voice is etc...Mary is heartfull she always talks and hang out with the fans which is something a artist should do...So Mary is perfect however her voice needs training if she is going to please old Tristania fans..

I don't agree, for me, Vibeke's attitude on stage was just the best possible compliment to Tristania's music. She gave it all the mysticism and elegance the band had. Of course, an attitude like Mary's is more dynamic and entertaining if you want to consider it, but doesn't have anything to do with the music sounding behind, leading to be something out of place. She's a good performer, but doesn't give the "Tristania" so gothic, introspective feeling Vibeke always gave, I'm sorry.

Sure Vibeke gives of a feeling of gothic and darkness which created an atmosphare of epic which kinda is the soul of Tristania but I got tired of it while seeing Vibeke doing the same thing during a 1.5 hour concert..No interfearing with the crowd or what so ever made the concerts boring after a while...I understand what you mean but if you have been on a Tristania concert with VIbeke you will understand what I mean...Dont get me wrong I love and treasure Vibeke.

Maybe they didn't want to choose a classically trained singer because they thought that Vibeke is so good that she shouldn't be replaced by anyone? Hehe :D Or maybe they're just out of their mind. I don't know, Tristania doesn't sound as great as before. Mary can sing well on her own but she definitely does not fit in the band.

Mary's a good singer and I like her voice, but her style does not fit the band at all. In other words, she's too... "happy" for these sad, gothic songs. O_o Østen goes all serious and she's jumping from one place to another, lol. I think Tristania should have looked for a different singer.
One more thing: please, there's no need for such rude comments about her like I've read. Calling her "whore", "piece of sh1t" or "stupid b1tch" won't solve nothing. Let's be adults and criticize properly.
