hello sir may i recommend selling this system on ebay and try out one of those 5.1 channel sound bars if you are concerned about space and wiring speakers all over the room.
your setup looks great! i got bose surround system and i think its awesome, exept i have got a passive subwoofer and its not that good, lol, i had to get a seperate active sub instead :D
Sir, I really like your system and how it works for you and I like how its hidden when not in use. The only suggestion I would say is for you to get a dark drape for you window so you can enjoy movies and any time of the day.
I'm sorry that you fell for Bose's advertisement machine. Bose is in a word, crap. For the money you spent, a full 7.1 HTIB would have been accessible. Your room is very nice however, but in my opinion, Bose is for people who are too ignorant and lazy to research for better options.
Wow that looks like a very neat and cozy set up, im liking the fire place alot. My home theater room has a fire place right behind the seating area. Gets hot. Anyways how is that Bose system? I heard they are overprice alot
I am disappointed with the Bose system. The sound is fairly good and the bass is excellent. But, I do not notice any significant surround or "rear speaker" effect from this two-speaker system. And Treble and Bass adjustments are deep in menus and not readily accesible. And it has no other sound output for accessories such as earphones. I have to use another DVD player (not the one in the Bose System) so that I have outputs for both a Bose input and my wireless Sennheiser earphones.
So bose's surround sound technology using 2 speakers doesnt work. Well you could go with a cheaper Home theater in a box. I've tried out some Sony ones and they are pretty good. They have some extra input options. But if you want the best out there, then you should buy a reciever.
I like your system, the firs one with projector, most people use plasma or LCD. I'm the kind of audio enthusiastic that reject Bose in any area. I think they are over priced and over rated. For the money they ask for the system (Usually 1k or more), one can get a really good 5.1 system (Yamaha, Harman Kardon, Onkyo, etc). But for excellent system separate component are always better.
I've always doubted that 2 speakers could make the sound of 5, and J1H2B3 confirm it! No matter what kind of technology they use, 2 jus't can't handle the task of 5. Yes, BOSE has been over rated and surely overpriced!!! You could go to w w w . audioreview . com the review section and find yourself what do most users comment about Bose. But I admit Bose subwoofer is really good.
Saw this video a few years ago but still enjoy how clean this set up looks!

Ah yes, you have spotted the one flaw. But I have a 32" CRT HDTV in another room for daytime viewing -- of which we do very little. Cheers.
