Yes !!! They are still amazing, still genious, still exciting !!! It's very - very nice that this band still exists and givin' concerts !!! I hope I will see them, for the first time in my life, at their AUSTRALIAN TOUR at April 2012 !!! Today we need their music more than ever !!! Because today .... all we are "owners of a lonely hearts" .......
Steve just cannot to a Trevor rabin in any way whatsoever. I am glad they dropped this song for the current tour when I saw them. As for the people moaning about the new singer, May I remind you Jon Anderson was ill and the rest of ther band wanted to go out and play so recruiting a new singer was paramount. I respect their choice.
I was checking this out as i wanted to get tickets to sheffield next week but its dreadful, they should be playing pubs-sad but true - i will be spending my money on IT BITES instead and have lots of change to boot- give it up guys sorry :(
Sad but true, the older all of us get, the more lazy we become, lots of samples, Steve has never put any effort in with Rabin tunes, Howe is a fantastic guitarist but seems to almost delibrately eff up Rabins tunes. As for the singer bloke I think he is very good, but Yes should have had a dignified end after the very different and very listenable Maginification.
The first thing I notice is the heavy use of samples for drums. The guitar solo was interesting.. but let's face it this song was meant to have three (or more) strong voices perform it: Trevor, Jon, Chris +. And even with them it sometimes sounded dicey!
I agree that this particular performance in Orlando is not up to standards. But if you check out some of the 2009 and 2010 performances of the song (posted on Youtube), Benoît David and the bandmates are quite good. David can also pull off some of the other Yes songs, quite well actually. We all miss Jon Anderson but he alone is not Yes.
@ShadesBelow03 its really sad to see this once great band just carry on and spoil what credibility they used to have, it's just like the Spinal Tap movie
Im confused as to why the band has allowed this to happen. I was open to change but change for the better. Compared to past standards set by this band this was pathetic. btw my grandmother can play a better guitar solo than this and shes dead. Im disgusted.
You all think YES was great at their hight;-; just wait till we see them during our future incarnations,--they will be super phenomenal!!! .....wait and see....
Recorded drums and keyboards from the single, what were they thinking? Come on Alan! ...and sorry Steve, but this time you should have left the guitar solo for the keyboards...
MORE COWBELL!!! (sorry can't make the font any bigger...)
its funny to watch this Howe never liked Trevor Rabin ..I saw the Union tour 5-6 times each night Rabin tried to shake howe's hand and he refused each time..now hes playing rabins song...
@rmp1994 Don't know if time & wisdom played into mutual respect, or the politics of realizing that playing the song certainly helps increase ticket sales, but Steve has been playing Owner through the last 2 tours. Steve also played this With Trevor when Trevor guested at the 7/9/2010 Yes show at L.A.'s Greek Theater, and when Trevor sang & played Owner with Yes at the 2004 Trevor Horn Wembley show.
Get the hell over it, people. Jon is gone and he isn't coming back. No one is replaceable in this band. That's been obvious since Peter Banks was given the boot way back in 1970. It's abut the music, not the musicians.
@shammadamma "No one is replaceable." Freudian slip, maybe? Sure, Zeppelin should reform without Page. Townshend doesn't need Daltry. It's just the songs, right? And by the way, this rendition of "Owner" is turgid and flat-out embarrassing.
Benoit David sings more like an opera singer, I don't get why squire would want him in the band at all.

I see what all the fuss is about. This isn't Yes. It's a tribute band called Yup!
Think of it that way and they're not half bad.

Coming soon to the nearest Howard Johnson's lounge...you'll find the band's logo written in between "Free Parking" and "Pizza by the slice!"

Benoit David is good in itself.
I believe that it is necessary to create a new repertoire!
It is impossible to replace Jon Anderson:-(((
