The figure on bottom left shows contours of vorticity in and around the developing 3D turbulent vortex ring. On the lower right you have a planar slice through the vortex ring, again showing contours of vorticity. In the top figure you see contours of pressure, showing how the sound originates in the vortex ring (sitting at the center of the annulus) and is then radiated outwards.
