  • I point to this era in both WWF and NWA when ppl complain about PG-13. It's not the rating. It's the execution of story lines.

  • I just don't see how the NWA was successful when their shows had what looks to be 100 people.

  • @RyanPelley1 It's a tv studio taping!

  • @RyanPelley1 I do believe this is the Saturday morning show. They had live events with "real" crowds.

  • That Gordbuster is SICK!!! Totally ILL!!! All that was missing is a stout DDT..

  • Wrestling kicked ass back then !! I miss watching the 4 horseman !! They use to take out everybody no matter how big u were !!

  • This stuff is so classic

  • David Crockett needs to chill out.

  • wrestling..used to be soooo cool and fun

  • sick gordbuster...by aa!!!

  • shoe..by jj..lol

  • The Horsemen kicked the Road Warrior's butts but they got their asses handed to them by the NWO.

  • @donn409 please, child. Different era, not the same horsemen. Get real.

  • @don417 Flair and Anderson were the main guys in the Horsemen then and they were the same guys the NWO destroyed years later. They were the same Horsemen. How's that for real?

  • You can see that The Rock got his style from Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes.

  • Now this was/is Wrestling.

  • The Horseman whipped somebodies ass every week...This is when wrestling was at the top of the game. "Four"

  • Comment removed

  • I think this is the greatest horsemen attack ever.

The Road Warriors were being shown as the ultimate tough

    guys.

I mean how many more times can you ambush Dusty?

  • The Rock did the Flair slap. You see where the rock got it from! WOOOOO

  • i remember this like it was yesterday. they were hyping hawk wrestling flair all summer during the great american bash. i was a completely torn preteen. :) loved the horsemen and was a warrior fan since i first saw them in a wrestling magazine. the wwe could learn a lesson or two from this. back then the great american bash lasted all summer long.

  • There was an incident at my family reunion 5 years ago that was just like this. I never knew that my grandparents could execute the Spike Piledriver. My cousin never tried to steal someone's food ever again. The gourdbuster on my 8 year old niece was a bit much, though.

  • @SilentGunman Spare the rod..

  • C'mon...how dumb is Hawk? Didn't he see this coming?

Still, back then any confrontation that ended in the Road Warriors laid out was pretty rare...

  • well, FOUR on TWO, i guess it really doesn't matter how much you lift , sure.

  • This is what happens when you take on the Four Horsemen without the Mulkey Brothers for backup.

  • awsome!

  • That was a sick Gourdbuster.

  • i remember that show i was therethat was so great to watch

  • Flair was always the Champion, always had the belt back than.

  • Great rivalry here between the two best Tag Teams of their era

  • Animal shoulda "no sold" that pile driver. That woulda been the shit!!!

  • You ever watch them animal shows, horsemen looked like 4 lions, taking down a buffalo

  • What the hell did JJ Dillon have in that shoe? One know to the back of the neck of Paul Ellering and he was out! LOL

  • well, it was normally Horsemen 4 on one. or maybe 4 on 2. tough to lose a fight when you outnumber the other guys..like gangs. yeah, gangs.

  • Not too bright of Hawk to come into the ring by himself. Horsemen beat the crap out of him. Animal and Paul were just a little bit late. Guess they thought the Horsemen were going to play nice.

    Go Horsemen!

  • WOW the Horsemen were viscious!

  • This is how its done....HORSEMEN STYLE!!!!

  • Animal took the best bump I ever saw...

  • You ever notice that Ole was always the 'smart' one...the guy who would get the attack in that would give the Horsemen an advantage?

  • Man that Gordbuster was close. Hawks momentum was sure going the wrong way there. That aside, these were the glory days of wrestling here.

  • The two dislikes are Tony Zane and that girl in the croud.

  • CLASSIC THE HORSEMAN WASNT TO BE PLAYED WIT

  • It don't get much better then this! The Horsemen look like a pride of lions taking down a Buffalo.

  • man, back in the day - a piledriver on the concrete floor was the the atomic bomb of wrestling. that was only for serious execution style attacks. do / never / test anyone who used a piledriver as finishing move.

  • I certainly remember when this webt down. Flair's match with Tony Zane was to have been the last match on the program that night with TV time remaining. I knew something was up when they played The Road Warriors' music before the match began. Poor Animal didn't have a snowball's chance in hell to get in the ring and help his partner,on top of being piledrived onto the arena floor. Paul Ellering took his licks too. Then came a completed isotaed Hawk in the ring as they appied a gordbuster to him.

  • Zane was the man back then, he deserved the title.

  • What few notice, but was indeed noteworthy, while the 3 horsemen and dillon carried on their theatrics on the floor, Arn Was one on one with the Hawk, and literally beating the living crap out of him! Arn was one tough SOB! The one and only Enforcer! As JR would say, surveying the literal mass of bodies scattered across the studio, "MY GOD, THE CARNAGE!"

The 4 Horsemen, Unmatched then, Unequalled now!

  • Classic Horsemen kicking ass!

  • Classic Horsemen beat down!

  • I love how the 12 year old girls would start a "rock N roll" chant at any opportunity in those days. 2:05 I remember the hawk vs. flair match at the bash in philly. it was one of those endings were the challenger believes he has one the belt only to be devastated by the referee's decision.

  • @WilliamLonghini Dusty Finish at Philly.

  • awsome.

  • DAM FUCK A GUN IN THIS WORLD!! IM CALLING THE HORSEMEN

  • WHAT?! no Flair rant/promo at the end.

That's what you get when you play with the Big Boys. woooooOOOOOO!!!!!

  • HorseMen 4 Life! Woooooooooooo

  • how da hell you gonna jump somebody and get ya ass whooped!!! lol

  • what was Hawk thinkin...coming into Naitch's time and trying to mug him...lesson learned, the hard way.

  • These were the best days of wrestling. NWA/Jim Crockett Promotions in the mid-80's. Flair, Warriors, Magnum, Nikita, Dusty, RnR Express, Midnight Express, Freebirds, 4-Horsemen, etc, etc., etc. The best wrestling ever. It will never be like this again.

  • @danteras23 You're right because you will not see this duplicated ever. The 80's was the best time in pro wrestling with Hulk Hogan leading the pack and there were lots of wrestling programs to watch - WWF, NWA, AWA, World Class, Memphis, and Florida. NWA had the better talent.

  • The 4Horsemen was like the Mafio bosses of wrestling. normal mid age dudes that looked unassuming but kicked ass and knew how to work together.

  • Thank god Animal showed up.

  • @notta3d Didn't help matters much lol Flair took him out with that flying knee and the rest beat him down too

  • One thing about wrestling of today that I like is that there's no more jobbers.

  • @RichieEastside I don't like today's wrestling at all, but I have to admit I don't miss the jobbers at all.

  • I think this was the first time the Road Warriors were absolutely manhandled. The Horsemen were the most dominating force EVER in pro wrestling.

  • @CarolinaRebellion Yeah if they had entered the ring together it might have been a different story but they each got isolated and it was bad news!

  • @CarolinaRebellion it probably was, but also the midnight express and jim cornette had got the best of them at one time as well. road warriors my favorite tag team of all time which is why nakita koloff and dusty rhodes joined alliances with them and took on the horsemen. classic i tell you classic

  • classic 4 horsemen beatdown...the LOD were phenomonal but they got their asses handed to them!!!

  • hmmnnn - i wanted to see Flair squash Tony Zane. I actually somewhat miss the old TV squash matches. Gotta love the horsemen beating on Hawk and animal though.

  • hey the horsemen was the sh@t they always kick ass when they had too lol i was like road warriors had no chance that day bring back the 80's

  • one of the greatest moments in wrestling, warriors and 4 horesmen which would lead to war games ect!!

  • The truth be told is Vince use to actually watch NWA in the 80's and often contacted Dusty Rhodes about how much he loved the show. This is just a small example of why the NWA in the 80's was the greatest of all time.

  • Sigh. Why can't these gentlemen sort out their differences without the use of violence?

  • Mcmahon who took over wcw and I guess awa should just put out a DVD set on all this stuff. He'd make a fortune and actually give wrestling fans something to watch at the same time. If he can't figure that out he's an idiot

  • @race3338 WWE runs this stuff on WWE Classics on Demand. I just watch a match from Stampede Wrestling yesterday. WWE owns footge from Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, Championship Wrestling From Florida, World Class Champonship Wrestling, The World Wide Wrestling Federation, The World Wrestling Federation, The National Wrestling Alliance, Extreme Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment and they post footage from some of these promotions every month..

  • Great clip!

  • notice how Ric went right after Hawk as soon as he hit the ring apron.....and the Warriors were scary back then....that's one thing I loved about the Horsemen, they may have been heels, but they took on any and everybody

  • Tony Zane got screwed before Bret did

  • Nice video. Classic L.O.D. and Horsemen.

  • The scary thing is, to this day, there are still people out there who think this stuff is real. lol

  • It may be scripted and pre determined...but you try it and tell me that they aren't the greatest athelites in the world...

  • The amazing thing is these were done in front of a tiny live audience. These superstars and masters of the art did A++ work whether nobody was watching or millions were watching.

  • Holy Sh**t that was amazing. Ive never seen this before. mrlatnie you said it best. Vince could only dream of that type of action today.

  • Would rather watch reruns of this stuff instead of a live WWE Raw event.

  • that was classic vince only wishes he could put on a show that good that was better than raw and smackdown put together any time

  • Flair invents the plancha @ 1:13. He was 10 years ahead of his time although not by choice

    lol

  • Randy Anderson and his patented quick counts...

  • Hawk did Nature Boy a favour if not for the outside interference DQ Tony Zane would have easily won the title

  • @3stanthony that is the funniest shit i heard 2day. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!

  • @3stanthony And he had trained so long and hard for his title shot. I felt bad for him.

  • That gourdbusterby AA on Hawk looked nasty... damn near dropped him on his head.

  • gotta be 4 pussies aganst lod 4 horsemen SUCK!!!!

  • Tony Zane is the REAL WWE CHAMP

  • @buff15 a toss up between him and Rocky King

  • "David, the Four Horsemen are really on a roll." GREAT! Do you have the preceeding Flair interview where he said he wanted to, "just for fun," slap Hawk's face?

  • Hurricane Tony Zane...LOL

  • Shit this is cool. The Road Warriors were

    tuffer and roughferr before this.Brnsgr45,

WCW was the staple on TBS from 1972

to Summer '84.Nazi vince jr took over for

sevrel months,WCW was on in the AM

before WCW came back by Crockkett.

  • Hawk and Flair had a good match during the Bash series of 86. I remember renting that video and thinking what a great singles career hawk could of had.

  • in real life it would take all 4 to beat hauwk

  • great there went tony zane"s chance to make a name for himself lol

  • it was hawk vs ric flair it was a fair match but then the others came I got no respect for this it could have been a fair beatdown

  • yh yh give me a bad thumbs I love all these guys so fuck you man(Y) yes I lvoe four horsemen too

  • They almost broke Hawks neck in that last spot

  • Long live the horsemen. They beat the warriors down!!! Like WillnChicago stated...Don't mess with the horsemen!!! This video was a typical horsemen beat down. Ask Dusty Rhodes, ask Magnum TA, ask Barry Windham -- don't stick your nose in the horsemen's business. Windham got beat down so many times that he decided it was best to join the horsemen and beat others down. WOOOOOO!!!!

  • Nice to see this clip with "Iron Man" intact.

You know, keeping someone out of Philadelphia can be considered a favor ... just kidding.

  • looka at flair selling out 'arenas'

  • gotta love JJ's shoe

  • In which year did this take place?

  • 1986

  • 6/21/86

  • Message delivered..."Don't fu $# with the Horseman"

  • I don't care how big you are, how tough you are, how jacked up you are or how much you can lift, if the 4 Horsemen wanted you down they took you down. Wooooooooooooooo!

  • @fjccommish are you saying that you actually believe in this shit?

  • @ricbowenjr You may not believe in the Horsemen, but let me tell you one thing. Like them or not you better learn to love them because they're the best thing going. Woooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @fjccommish

Yeah, because that's what the script called for genius

  • @fjccommish

And i will take on the Horsemen anywhere and anytime...Bring them on and rest assure that EVIL never prevail

  • @SubBlaze1 Be careful what you wish for, the Horsemen may be listening.

  • @fjccommish

LOL..Flair is the only one left, and he cant beat Bischoff..

Horsemen main rival Sting is still in his prime and may be champion again ..

and btw, i think in the prime of WCW...the horsemen lose badly to the nWo :)

  • @SubBlaze1 Flair alone is worth 10 nWo.

  • @fjccommish

Ummm, that's because Virgil Runnels booked it that way. I don't think Tully Blanchard or Ole Anderson could whoop MY ass. Now Arn survived a phuckin' scissor attack from that nut job Sid Eudy, so I wouldn't put anything past him. And Richard Fliehr...well he learned under Verne Gagne, who was killing men into his 90's, so again...nothing against Naitch.

  • NWO?,Evolution? The Four Horsemen Paved the way. Wrestling will never be the same again.

  • This indeed was a melee if there ever was one! I remember being so incensed at home. I always considered the Road Warriors indestructable, but I was proven wrong that evening! Awesome video along with great nostalgic memories! Fantastic job! This is when pro wrestling was pro wrestling in the golden days for sure!

    Ken Palmer

  • Ya got that right. These guys cared about what they did. They either made you love to love them or love to Hate them. Road Warriors and 4 Horsemen. Never will there be an era like this in wrestling again

  • One of the all time great Horsemen beatdowns. How sad is it that the fans were chanting for the Rock n Roll Express to come and save the Road Warriors?

  • I remember this. It was a few days before the first Great American Bash of 1986, took place in Philly at Vet Stadium. They taped this that morning because ticket sales were in the toliet and needed a build up for a better house. The main event was Flair vs Hawk for the NWA title.

  • You are wrong these shows were taped on Wednesday's at the Techwood Dr. studios.

  • Back in the day you didn't mess with the horseman! Best ass kicking wrestling "gang" ever!

  • The horseman was a gang the sum of which was greater than the parts, invicible with the enforcer and his brain buster, flair on the mic, ole and tulle sneaking from behind and of course, the random factor, JJ Dillon and his occasional intrusion...

  • Where did Tony Zane run off to? He just bolted! lol That first 4 Horsemen Stable was the best!

  • Tony Zane was quite possibly my favorite NWA jobber (maybe second to Randy and Bill Mulkey) - an out of shape ham & egger with no prospects for the future.

  • I always thought it was funny seeing JJ Dillon go upside somebody's head with a shoe.

  • Yes, it was! I wanted to see him go upside Jim Cornette's head for once!

  • that would be a helluva battle

the shoe vs. the tennis racket

  • I thought the Road Warriors were supposed to be so tough. Guess not.

  • It's called "Storyline" to get you to go see Road Warrior Hawk vs. The Nature Boy Ric Flair at the Great American Bash in Philadelphia, PA..

  • does anybody remember a wrestler named Mike Jackson? He at one time was the "alabama jr heavyweight champion" if that belt even exsisted. Anyway why would Ric Flair want to make Tony Zane look good? Zane was a jobber yes, but Flair was the consumate Pro making anyone he wrestled look like a star, even jobbers like Zane

  • Jackson was the balding guy that always wore a red singlet, right? The main eventer's always let him get in a few moves.

  • Yeah that was him and youre right Jeff, the Main guys gave the jobbers a few licks before sqaushing them lol

  • There were a few jobbers like Jackson who were almost mid-card talent, kind of like Mike Sharpe. They never won but they made it a challenge.

  • Good point guys like sharpe, and George Wells (who wrestled Jake Roberts in WM2). I did find it kind of funny that the WWF gave a push to Paul Roma, Jim Powers and Barry Horowitz, all jobbers at one point. and remember the Mulkey Brothers and the 1st time they won on TV? David Crockett went nuts lol

  • Back in the day, almost everyone started as jobbers. I remember a very plain-looking Ric Rude losing on Mid Atlantic every week. What's more interesting is how main event guys became jobbers like Pedro Morales and Jimmy Snuka going from title matches to losing every week on television.

  • Oh good point Jeff. Rick rude started as a jobber and than look what he became huh?. I guess it depended on who the promoters though would be futire main eventers. I remember a young Paul Roma and Jimmy Powers getting that important push, of course, neither of them amounted to anything but you get my point. And as a counterpoint, No one said that John Cena was going to be anything. (I live in worcester and heard from the so called smart promoters who said this) lol

  • It depends mostly whether the wrestler can perform and show good work ethic, but more so it depends on his looks and whether he can gain the female appeal. Thats one of the reasons Lex Luger maded big in the late 80's and early 90's and why Nikita Koloff went downhill. Koloff didn't have that physical attraction that would appeal to women wrestling fans and he couldn't wrestle much. But Luger, he could perform, he had the body, he had the looks/hair and he had an appeal to the ladies.

  • @xhemexx He didn't draw a dime.

  • @yardlet6 Who Luger?? YES HE DID!! All the ladies came to see him!! lol

  • mulkey mania!

  • lol I remember them. One match in particular where they actually won against the Gladiators, David Crockett went nuts haha! It was good TV and it got the Mulkeys in the Crockett Cup

  • @ashleybound you could make a case for George South too, who said in Flair's book....Evey time i wrestled Flair i was making a house payment....George was Ric's favorite jobber

  • Plain and Simple, and the " Champ" would always say this,... " IT DON'T GET NO BETTER THAN THIS "

Even back then, i don't think he even knew how TRUE those words were.

  • Hawk must of been in a good mood he let them beat him up otherwise he was just of kicked their ass.

  • Animal sells this well, he looks like he is dead.

  • Wrestling's heyday was around then. From about 83 to late 80's. It was so awesome. You had NWA,AWA,WCCW,WWF and UWF. I add the WWF in there unwillingly but it was a player. The stroy lines were great and they knew how to build excitement and intrigue. Those were the days.

  • YOU GOT TO LOVE THE SATURDAY NITE NWA sudio ON

TBS NOW THAT IS THE OLD SCHOOL WAY AND IT WAS THE SHIT!

  • Yes, that was the good ole days!

  • the Horsemen where the good goddamn shit!

  • Best wrestling days went downhill not long after WWE got their hands on the whole wrestling gig

  • no one could sell a move like ric flair.

  • Glory days. Horsemen taking care of business.

  • The NWA back in those days was the best days of wrestling by far!!! I don't care who thinks otherwise!!!

  • Yes, the NWA of the 80's and WCW from 96-98 was the best times Ive ever seen!

  • who are the anouncers?

  • Tony Schiavone and David Crockett.

  • The One and Only! Not the Legion of Doom, not the Orange Spikes. The Tag Team that rode roughshod over the NWA, the AWA, All Japan, New Japan and anywhere else they wanted to go. The Might Road Warriors. Hawk, RIP!

  • This brings back memories from when I was a kid, but the along came MMA and I grew up. UFC made wrestling obsolete.

  • I loved the NWA

  • I love those days the horseman gang up on people great

  • Just got done watching this on WWE 24/7. Great beat down and solid promo by Hawk afterwards

  • Nice! This is what wrestling was all about! Without this so called boring wrestling- wrestling would have never made it to be what it is today!

  • I remember this shit like it was yesterday. I was 10 years old when this shit happened. This is classic shit right here!!! I miss real wrestling!!! Smh @ what wrestling has become today.

  • lol you an old azz nigga. jk playa.

  • lol...fuck you

  • I second that Ironman26.

  • Yeah, this is definitely the real!! i wouldn't piss on the WWE if it was on fire and my bladder wuz full!! the NWA and Mid South was and will always be the best wrestling organizations EVER! fuck the WWE and whoever love 'um!!

  • this really put the early Four Horsemen over as badasses and gave the Roadies a good face turn as there was nobody around to really stand up to the heels.

  • That was the best thing I seen in wrestling since the 80's. That surpassed everything in today wrestling.

  • MAN! i miss the old nwa tv studio days it was the best and all of the nwa action everywhere. it was truly sad that the wwf took over, i wish that it was the other way around, cause wwf had nothing on nwa. PERIOD!

  • Some of the newer fans may say "This looks like something that the NWO would do." Well, guess what? The Horsemen did it first. Got that, Eric Bishoff??

  • Thank you. The 4 Horsemen did it better than anyone
