i think the jailbreaking instructions are really bad. the ipsw download for example took about an hour, and there was ZERO mention of this on the seas0npass site. there's no mention that the jailbreaking instructions are current to today's date. (the instructions are a year old)

1. Update your iTunes

2. Restart your PC

3. Restart the jailbreak make sure your following the 4.4.4 jailbreak and nothing less

@hcdx92 error 14 means a few things, check your PC USB port, don't hook up with extender, make sure this is only iDevice hookedup, and use another USB Port on your PC or another MiniUSB for make sure its no longer then 1 meter and it should 5 pins

I have run the install, but when it gets to the part where iTunes asks to retstore the firmware, I can say yes, but iTunes goes into Not Responding mode. I have updated to latest iTunes version. Do you have any idea what causes it and what to do ?

@SBlakMr This problem accours for few different reasons first check your C drive make sure you have alteast 1GIG free, 2nd make sure you only have AppleTV 2 hooked up and no other iDevices try again i am sure it will work

If you watch this video you notice that there is error in the edit of this video right after you press menu & play on your remote and Itunes boots up. He forgot to say that once Itunes boots up and you accept Itunes restore. Let Itunes continue restoring all the way through and then disconnect the micro usb. SMDH That was the problem I had. I watched this video five times before going ahead with the break. SMDH

StangoDango: if you watch the total video it explains line by line what you should see after jailbreak is done, if your stuck on loop screen that apple logo comes up and the goes black again just simply place your AppleTV 2 in DFU mode process the reloading of iPSW and it should be fix in no time and then mag me what happens

My problem seems to have been that I thought all aspects of Apple TV2 were made "free" once the jailbreak was in place. I didn't realize that you couldn't use the main TV or Movie selection drop downs. I will try to find alternatives for both through XBMC and NitoTV. I no longer download movies or television shows so I thought this was going to be an easy option for me.

@sweetcalita you know when our jailbreaking the your AppleTV 2, you need to install nitoTV and XBMC and you need to share your movies manually, you can't just click on movies that are showing outside of XBMC or Movies sections on AppleTV 2 sections because those are still working with Apple Company and you need to pay for those just to clearfy to you my friend

Just a follow-up, I had no luck doing this tutorial on Windows 7 at home. I took my Apple TV to my office and tried it on my XP machine. For whatever reason, it worked perfectly. It worked exactly like your video. I'll take it home tonight and test it but I'm confident I got it jailbroken.  Thanks for all your help @xctechs.

Did the jailbreak, installed nito > xbmc worked perfect. during the jailbreak i had to plug in the power cable though till DFU mode was accepted then i disconnected it again before itunes started > perfect. one question: do i have to do something to stop my apple tv from updating on future software versions?

One more thing. When I went to install XBMC I tried to use WinSCP ( in command line mode) but I was getting all kinds of errors. I switched over and used Putty and that seem to do the trick. I do use WinSCP to drag and drop the .zip files for Icefilms & Navi-X (as that works much better for that task).

Everything is up and running and it looks like they fixed Icefilms FINALLY!

I also installed Hulu (via bluecop) but I can't seem to get any shows to actually play?

I used your video the first time I JB my ATV2. After running great with XBMC for months something went wrong so I restored my ATV2 to factory setting with the new firmware.

This new video was very helpful (again) and I'm back up and running. With the new Seas0npass....the option "would you itunes to restore the firmware automatically" didn't seem to work for me so the 2nd time I chose "no" and manually found the ipsw file and that option worked great.

When I did this, my AT2 would not go into DFU without being plugged in to electricity. Also, my restore file would not install automatically. I needed to find the file in the seas0npass folder and hold the shift key

download iREB RC 4  from iH8sn0w . com

1. load iREB

2. place your AppleTV 2 under DFU mode

3. let iREB do its thing

4. iTunes and load your iPSW SP created

it should work then, here is the only part, onces its jailbroken there is no tab for seas0npass which tells you its jailbroken but onces its done you know its jailbroken then just SSH your nitoTV to it and your done

@MrWilW error 21 means, the computer can't see your AppleTV 2, usually this happens if your Micro USB is 8 pin, or not working USB cable, check again, change the place for USB on your computer, and try again

My atv2 reads 4.3 (2552) in about menu. Ive tried many combinations of what your video describes and on my 64-bit win 7 computer it always reads sucessful except when I plug back no "seasonpass" tab there.

So I tried to jailbreak on my 32-bit basic win 7 netbook and now it keeps giving me failure error messages at restore point in itunes. also dont understand how to changeWin 64-bit compatibility settings, is that the problem

I cant get into dfu mode as you have explained. after trying a few things i got it into dfu mode by pluging in power and then holding play and menu and then removing power. maybe the process has changed??
