Seeing these MMC clips bring back fond childhood memories for me. Sad to know a few of the original mouseketeers are no longer with us, especially Cheryl who I also had a young boyhood crush on. No doubt like many other little boys who watched the show back then. She was 6 years older than me, but I loved to see her smiling face each day after school.
As TV further devolves into chaos... One day, people will look back on the stuff from the 2000's and say, "Man, remember when TV was so simple?", like we are doing on this vid.
@irelephant Tommy Cole also was with Cheryl during her last illness. In an interview he stated that he went home tired on the night of Jan 5 & Cheryl died the following morning - with Doreen at her side.
what happend to the old mickey mouse club house with jimmy dodd and the musketeers why did they stop airing the old mickey mouse club house and the old musketeers instead the new mickey mouse club house on disney is lame and boring now days.
I thought Dennis was cute!! He was my favorite of the boys. Sharon is a real cutie in this clip!! But there was something about Darlene that just didn't sit right with me....I can't put my finger on it but there was something about her I didn't like. Karen and Cubby of course were adorable!
Cheryl went to visit Jimmie while on her honeymoon. Jimmie was sick in his hospital bed & didnt wake up. The next day he died.
Doreen was Cheryl's best friend & at her side while she died. Timmy visited her that night & said Cheryl died 2 hours after he left. I dont know if any other Mouseketeers were there.
I sure wish that they would re-release ALL of the old Mckey Mouse Club shows. In order. AS well of the Disney World shows. There is so much from the Disney studios that have not been seen in 20 + years. The children of today are DEPRIVED!!!!
OK,I know I will sound real old here but you can just see the innocence in these kids faces.I am only 39 and I am no religious type but I really wish kids these days could be as pure as these kids.I remember watching re-runs of this show when I was a kid on WTTV 4 in Indiana.Sharon was definitely my favorite.
You got it right..pure as these kids and then we can send 'em to Afghanistan, Iraq..anywhere to make 'em real Americans..as god intended! God bless Mister Disney and his wholesome intentions!
...now it's time to say goodbye to another Mouseketeer for Cheryl has been called away to the great Club, hopefully, not far away --- R.I.P forever young in our memory Mouseketeer...
Originally, Jimmie would say, "And now, Mouseketeers, here's one thing we want you always to remember...", and there'd be a little musical fanfare before they started singing...
I used to watched the mickey mouse club but it was season 3 on the disney channel and they been showing it over and over just reruns of the mickey mouse club season 3.
jimmie reminds me of someone i do not know who... at the top of my head

Jimmie Dodd died way to young (in his mid 50's from cancer).
He was such a kind-hearted, beloved man who left us way before his time.
If there's a Rock and Roll Heaven, Jimmie Dodd is the head songwriter.

Amazing how many times Doreen's hairstyle and hair length changed throughout the singing of this song.

I never got to see the reruns of them that young but I still got to see the reruns when I was little of them a few years older.

I love this show so much, but these alma maters are all creepy. I feel like each word lingers on for just a little too long.

Sharon is my favorite. She could have easily been a big star!

@24faniam Nothing sweet and innocent came out of predator Uncle Walt's evil empire. Ask Bobby Driscoll-- (actually, you can't--he died tragically).

I taped some of them from Vault Disney on the Disney Channel, and others are from the VHS tapes that came out years ago.
