We used a clever device called a saw to cut the wood, the wood can be taken from most trees but hardwood is best. We then use super glue to fix them to the sides and then we drill holes from the inside and screw them in place. We hope this helps!
Have you seen our 10 mod casio vl-1? We do get quite a few idiots contact us but it is good to know where they are and a safer place knowing that they are sitting at a computer rather than walking the streets. Arron
Don't worry about the haters, they are all people that have tried to circuit bend their expensive instruments, thinking that it is easy and so that they could impress their friends but instead managed to jump the wrong wire and ended up killing their machines and having to sell them for scrap.
I don't own a PT-82, but a friend does. My friend and I both hate Circuit Bending, and we both think it's needless. Why not connect a patch cord between the earphone jack on the keyboard and a digital effects processor such as the Korg mini KaossPad, then there's no need to do any Circuit bending of any description. That keyboard is erevocably damaged now, but it didn't need to be. I loathe Circuit Bending, and I leathe S-CAT. Those keyboards are great, and don't need to be modified.
Hello , we circuit bend to make money and have sold over 200 machines and have made over £20,000 for our efforts. We also circuit bend fx units and then run circuit bent machines through them. One thing that is different here is that when you run a circuit bent machine through a Kaos pad then you will get more variation than running a standard machine through it. Have you got a job? We hate people who work for others and do not have any control over their lives.
Do you think that these are rare? We have now modified around 10-15 and are still buying them in. It sounds better, looks better and we hope that you eventually feel better.
Well, I think it would be great to just plug it into a computer with ubuntu (Linux) studio plugins and modify the sound that way. I can't wait to get hold of one of these (untouched). Even more so I had one as a kid. But with the software thesedays I guess a very simple intsrument goes a long way. Btw I'm after either PT-82 or PT-87 at some point (with ROM).
One thing with S-CAT modifications is that when the switches are off then the machine still works 100% as the makers intended. So it not all bad. When you say conect to a computer do you mean just an audio signal ? If so just imagine how many more possibilities ther would be when applying the same science to one of our modified units. Have you seen what we have done with the CASIO VL-1 ? It has nine modifications and really takes the biscuit.
Now that would be an idea.. You could hook up just before the pre-amp stages and possibly make a direct usb connection or via a midi conversion of some kind, even more interesting would to search for schematic diagrams and see what exactly is digitally possible..
One thing though, if you are going to connect the PT via a midi or usb interface then would that not mean that you will be modifying the machine and drilling holes into the case? Just a thought.
hi. I don't recommend doing this, if you want your keyboard to make strange sounds, use an effects processor, or connect the earphone out jack of the keyboard to the line in jack of your soundcard, record the audio of the keyboard, then add effects to the audio using a sound editor such as Audacity.
If you can make the pitch lower and alter the speed of the pattern through a chaos pad then you are a genius. But it can not be done so you are a missinformed.
We would like to invite you to show us all a video of you using the chaos pad to create the same results as the S-CAT modifications, If you can emulate this video then we will give you a pristine CASIO PT-87 that you can cherish for the rest of your days. Please ignore this message if you are not up to the job.
sounds amazing bro!

I don't fancy bending either. Random noises aint musical.

But once you put the random noice in order then it becomes music.

but there is a twisted beauty in it nonetheless
