  • Thanks for upload man awesome

  • Diamond P also had an awesome monster truck show in the 1990's called Trucks and Tractor Power.

  • Ed Bruce has an epic mustache.

  • They did run at Mid-Ohio earlier that season

  • Drive on one.

  • It's a street course, that's the only reason you need.

  • Why not? The Columbus track was so much better than Mid-Ohio is.

  • I remember my parents taking me to this event one year when I was real little. I think we went in either '86 or '87. I always wondered if they discontinued the event b/c of a lack of interest and/or a lack of revenue?

  • wow nice! Unfortunately, I really got into racing in 88 and I live in Cincy. Would have been cool to see this.

  • Yep, this was the 1985 race - my apologies - I uploaded the race using the multi upload tool and I made an error and put in 1986 instead of 1985 and kept forgetting to fix the title and description. I should have known better as I was at this race! Thanks wagnerov and doctorindy for catching the mistake!

  • And thanks for adding the Intro to the American Sports Cavalcade with the old 80's theme to the show (at 0:08 to 0:34 seconds)

That was what I was talking about the whole time. Keep it up buddy, you rock!

  • I grew up hearing that theme on so many NHRA broadcasts on TNN!

  • At least I'm not alone then.

  • I watched that program every saturday on TNN!

  • By the time I saw American Sports Cavalcade in the early 90s...it was mostly just NHRA events (races which Diamond P would later produce for ESPN as the decade wore on).

  • This was from 1985. The "Inaugural" comment is an indication. At 3:15, the track map indicates the S/F line was on Front Street. it was only like that for one year. Starting 1986, they moved the S/F line (actually just the finish line...the starting line was on the backstrech) back a tad to Broad Street.

  • I think this is actually the 1985 GTO/GTU race, not 1986. Clues: Old RX-2's and Monzas, AAR Celicas in GTU, Bob Earl's Son of a Gun Fiero, Craig Carter in the Peerless Camaro...

  • 0:08 to 0:34 sec, Now that is the Intro to the show I'm talking about, thanks a bunch.
