When i select Time Reverse Layer and my video becomes reverse, the video is very slow, and it says "Not Realtime!"

@MikaGames I believe that is because playback is slower while your computer is processing more information (the video in reverse), once you render it, it'll work fine

@wertos22 Double check, but if it's really not there, try QuickTime (.mov) (unless it's completely mandetory you use .avi) QuickTime is higher quallity too! Hope I helped

That's the worst way to export.. you should be using the render queue.

that's what i was thinking, because it forces you to use a video compressor which degrades the quality unlike premiere

No, it just doesn't have the settings you need. You should go to composition -> Make Movie or render queue

Hmmm. Does AAE 6.0 have time reverse stuffed somewhere else besides the layer dropwindow?

not that I know of - I went through all the effects and that's what seemed to work - were you having an issue with the effect?

Well. I'm using AAE 6.0 and it seems that your version is not the same as mine. In layers, the only things in the list that pertain to time are 'Enable time remapping' and time stretch.

And would you look at that! I enabled time mapping and it gave me the effect in the timeline window.

yeah i think my version must be out of date, this tutorial IS using Adobe After Effects CS3 Professional, i got it with Adobe Creative Suite so it came with an effects pack

after making a video and want to decrease the size using either after effects or Premiere. How?

to make the rendered vid smaller, do this- the higher the quality the larger the vid, but export as best quality, but that's for after effects. Adobe premiere has a better rendering engine so I'd go with premiere, actually. Export the vid file -- THEN put it in windows movie maker then do file>save movie file and under Movie Setting do "show more choices" then press OTHER SETTING button and choose High Quality Video (NTSC) from the dropdown menu. Then export. Yup. LONGEST COMMENT EVER!!!
