  • I like the car but I can't stand the racket of a gear drive.

  • woo omg hot rodsz 4ever

  • The gear drive can get old after a while, trust me!!. They do produce a quieter version, not sure which one this car has.

  • that is one badass ride

  • Looking down this comment board I see positive comments & congrats for having a nice vehicle. I like this rod too but I also like cars with big rims & systems yet I look on those videos & see hate comments saying ni**er cars & people downing the work done on the cars. Why is that? Why is it okay for this guy to build a rat rod that has no useful purpose other than being COOL as hell but it's not okay for someone to put 30in rims on a car that also has no purpose other than being cool?

  • Love the body style...and the noisie geardrive..have tried to find a steel 26-27 tudor here in sweden..but noo noo...just fiberglass...so im building a t-23 with a 355 blowermotor from big als toy box whith a noise geardrive...hehehe

    Love youre work bethel bros

  • @swedenbucket Thanks! Du skulle alltid kunna kontrollera JEGS online, är jag säker de skulle ha delarna som du ser för. Och tack för att titta utställningen, härskar Sverige!

  • car is ok,i guess i dont get why its''award winning'' but that aside,i really hate the spastic guy on camera with stupid comments and actions

  • i saw that there was no blower dose it have the gears in it

  • yep

  • whats making the supercharger type noise?

very tasteful car, decent sized wheels up front aswell so it will actually corner.

  • $30 k w/out an interior?....how much did you have into it...give me the guys number...have i got a car for him...

  • Some guy from Oregon, but the one's he sells to most are at the Car Shows in Cal Expo in Sacramento, the Autorama

  • I love the stock top. But when you're as tall as my brother and myself.....you need the extra head room.

Reason one why I love my '50 chevy!

  • no wayy! i effing love it!!! great job there bethel wish i couldve riden in that!

  • Yep, it was a cool ride, Ed sold it for over $30,000 without interior.

  • i get it but i dont like it. you need to chop that fucker

  • I think the car does look nice un chopped To many people chop the tops on the old Fords it's nice to see a beautiful Ford un chopped sounded great and looks awsome. It's too bad they don't make cars like this anymore.

  • yeah looks lovely like that. chopped an slammed is nice but the tallness makes it that bit more elegant an old school

  • I also like the chopped top look but so many people do that that u never get to see many without a chop.

  • very clean

  • chop the top and or the price...

  • it sold, and for $35,000 US dollars duuuuuuuuude. I recommend you get a better job and/or save your money. Just think, if you stopped being a drunk looser, you might be able too afford one of these.

  • Nice, I like the full height/ non roof chopped style, and the front tyres look right without being dangerously skinny.

  • definitly needs a chop top

  • WORST camera man EVER

  • You can suck all the cock on your coast, you fucking looser, booger eating harley rider!

  • thats real wrong/-wanna-be

  • chop it!

  • yes gear drive a little bit of oversized cam sure sounds nice but looks ugly needs like just about a foot out of that fucking ugly top and them will talk either a rat rod or a hot rod not both

  • annoying whine sound

  • Annoying whiny comment...............

  • nice tractor but, when i hear a whirr and a rod then i expect to see a pump on top of the donk not a bull shit air cleaner on a holley.put a cover on the engine and keep people wondering and not dissapoint them..i mean(me)better still, whack on a 6/71!!!mmmm

  • I agree... oh wait no I dont... its his car he can put what ever motor he wants, I am thinkin most guys that go on here and cut up someones rod doesnt have one of there own, mines a 35 ford with a 355... oh no its not the right motor i am not cool boo freakin hoo

  • I would agree with mopar.. Just because it's got red oxide primer and is made out of a model t doesn't make it a hot rod.. atleast not a traditional one.. IFS, giant shotgun air scoop, giant chrome wheels and no windows.. Not to be dissing you or anything man.. but that doesn't look like my idea of a hot rod.. 35,000 for that?

  • Agreed. Not only that, but I'm a purist and I'd rather see an engine from the same company that built the car. If you take a '54 Buick and shove a 455 Buick into it, that's cool, but the concept of putting a Chevy 350 into anything you can get your hands on is the lazy approach to hot rodding. The coolest car I ever saw at a show was a mid 1930s Dodge coupe with a hopped up Slant 6. That's ingenuity.

  • hot rodding is about making your car what you want. you wouldn't know ingenuity if it bit you in the ass. I think the ups man is at your door with your euro tail lights and nos stickers... run along.

  • The price is high lol but its still a hot rod.

  • not a hot rod? It's like a full sized "Hot Wheels" and you can't get more hot rod than that!!

  • Some guys are just that retarded! lol

  • Its the cam gera drives making that sweet noise..nothing to do with the trans..all autos have a flex plate and nothing to do with an ss camaro....google peter jackson noisy gear drives

  • great!

  • its the cam gear drives making that sweet noise..nothing to do with the trans..every auto has a flex plate.....and nothing to do with an ss camaro..google peter jackson noisy gear drive

  • gear driven what? ( what gears are making the sound)

  • the type of tranny.....gear driven. The noise you haer is the gears in the tranny whinning. Most tranny's are flex plates, look around, you'll see what I'm talking about. Camaro SS had them in a secific year, but I can't remember what.

  • WRONG DUDE the gear drive is the timing gears,, instead of a timing chain, they install gears to mesh together, and that is the whine you hear,,

  • wheres the whining coming from its not supercharged?

  • Gear driven.....the car sold daaaaaaaaaaays ago.

  • ***** NICE!

  • Where do u live? I am right by Citrus Heights.

  • We moved out of Sacramento, we are up in Masysville California

  • more of a rat rod than a hot rod right? - whats the difference between the two?

  • A rat rod is a hot rod, back in the day they didn't call them rat rods, they were just Hotrods. A true Rod is built in your garage with your own two hands, and you use the best parts you can find lying around your garage or local junk yard, you take various parts of every make and model and put your dream combination together. Back in the day kids didn't have money so they built what they could so they could go fast! No billet and fancy paint. just a tru rough industrial rod! Hope that helps

  • thanks - that makes sense lol

  • beautiful

  • Just sent you two videos of my car and my son's car Dale and Chris Bethel from Ohio.

  • my family biluds hot rods like road star 1939 and hot rods are the best things around in old cars hoted up

  • i like it! i'm thinking about going gear drive also. what kind is it? is that the jackson one machined for noise?

    thanks!

  • You'd have to ask the new owner, the car sold last summer.

  • Some guys can spend megabux and still have an abortion on wheels but that car has "the look" nailed! Too bad those back tyres and the gas tank position would never get passed in Australia.

  • would look better if the top was chopped a bit

  • bad ass car!

  • if my 41 willys sounds half as good at that when i finnish it, i am happy. sweet!

  • Ladies and other dudes, just an update, Ed sold the rod at the good guys show, after taking second place he sold the car to some lucky rich dude in Oregon. But at least you saw it first on Bethel Brother's Hot Rod, and got to see a part of it's history.

Where the car will end up, is anyone's guess, hopefully not the scrap yard.

    Dan Bethel-

  • if i had to guess i would guess that its a 1932 ford three window coupe but i can be wrong

  • The owner says it at one point, why not just watch the vid?

    Dan Bethel-

  • wat kind of car is that?

  • Nice ride guys..but...CHOP THE TOP and get rid of the gear drive..sounds like a bearing getting ready to die! Keep it Cruizin guys!!

  • NO not the gear drive. The sound of a gear drive just says..........GEAR DRIVE! I like it!

  • i concurr...chop that roof already! then you've

    got a serious rod.........do it

  • chop the top a bit. cool car.

  • california is warm even in december. must be nice to enjoy rodding all year long.

  • Yep, and sweating, you get to baste in your own juices! lol

  • love the car but would look soooooo much better with a chopped top

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  • i got the noisey gear in my motor too i love it

  • Sweeeeeeeeeeet!

  • enjoyed your hotrod very much. cheers from tasmania australia :)

  • wow thats a loud gear drive you got on there i thought it was blown when you first fired it

  • ok Dan,make some video,so we gotta see you car,how it looks now and when you finish it how it will look then

  • They are on here....some of the first episode of Bethel Brothers Hot Rod is nothing but Sam.

  • haahahaahaha, stupid question a,put some color brother,i think black will be perfect

  • That is the color that Ed wants on it, the existing color that is. He paid quite a bit for that rusty looking paint.

If it was mine, I would paint it black.

    Dan Bethel-

  • ok Dan,where is you ride brother, this is Ed`s ride,i don`t like this color,it looks purple i think ,but this is his choice/can you tell me how much Ed spend for this toy

  • My ride is the 1951 Dodge Pick up, I call him SAM. I'm still working on it, I'm just running low on money. I already put $10,000 into it, there are a few more things to do and then SAM will be done.

Ed built his car, the frame was made out of 2x4 steel, he ordered the motor and tranny, and I think he paid 500 for the bucket T body. Ed gets alot of deals on parts, but he is a bastard when it comes to getting the same deal from him.

  • cool ride

  • Yeah Ed likes it.

  • Hei Dan,do you like rat rods?

  • kooooool

  • I love the tall sedans. This one is awesome, I especially love the wheel/tire combo and the blower scoop. And the gear drive, of course.

  • I know Ed put alot of work into it, I'll pass it on to him.

    Dan Bethel-

  • I love the sound of that great drive. Mechanical sounds always appealed to me.

  • I love the sound. hehehehehehehe

  • Yeah, Ed likes it too....lol

    Dan Bethel-

  • needs more fart jokes and a spontaneous kick to the nuts

  • poor mans blower

  • yes thank god someone knows what it is ...(GEAR DRIVE) I have a build 350 chey wit a (noisy) PETE JACKSON IN IT I LOVE THE WHINE ITS CALL OF THE WILD BEAST JUST WAITING TO BE LET OUT

  • GEAR I MEANT

  • there is no supercharger fitted

  • Ok folks, tired of the ideas of what the noise is. The whine comes from the gear drive. Or hears an idea, call the owner Ed, his phone number is listed at the end.

    Dan Bethel-

  • the whining sound is the supercharger you moron

  • sounds like a power stering pump starving. 35.000? your nuts! keep it and finsh it off and then ask 20. then you may get it! NICE START!:)

  • Get off the beer, and I might listen to you.

  • Sweet but it sounds like an electric motor (coz it whines)

  • ITS CALLED A NOISY GEAR DRIVE

  • like it!
