the guy was correct about the red snapper. the world record for a red is 50lb 4 ounces and was caught by my uncle out of Port Fourchon Louisiana. look up Doc Kennedy. Very nice fish you have there, but I would say it is in the mid 40's.
It looks more like a dog snapper, if you look at the light stripe below it's eyes, and the brown coloration. Cuberas are more grey and they have darker stripes along their backs. Either way, that's a sweet f'ing deal.
I havent been on a boat in a few years, but when i did, nobody but rich people could afford video cameras, plus even if you owned one, who would be f&cking stupid enough to take it out on a boat with chance of it getting wet or sinking to the bottom of the deep blue.
50 - 60 lbs????? Really???? NOT!
Its a nice snapper but it is no where near 50 lbs. Sorry Charlie

thats not a red snapper its a cubera snapper
TheLespaul316 8 months ago
Definitely a Cubera. What a shame to kill it. They are probably the worst eating of the snapper species.

Sniper4fun6, It probably is a cubera snapper. This is in Panama in a town called Boca Brava. The company we did the charter with is Panama Big Game
