  • are you sure your RAM is in the right slots?

  • wow just saw this video and decided to tell my brother to clean his cpu!

his was like yours, not very much dust!

  • what graphics card do you have?

  • ATI Radeon HD 4850

  • @justhes thanks for the reply, btw nice video, it was very informative.

  • My HSF doesn't put off heat either, slightly warm to touch. (wish i could say the same about the NB heatsink) But I promise the cores inside the chip, under the heatspreader, are hot. They've got to be above room temperature..

As I said before I don't think you're lying or anything like that. I just want to say that it's much more likely you have bad sensors than having a 'golden' chip. If it's truly that good, keep pushing it, as long as your mobo can take it.

  • As for winter temps, you *really* think it's possible to have a 24 degree C ambient temp and hit 20 C in a chip with 100 watts of electricity running through it? Please, explain how inside your house the laws of physics are suddenly skewed.

You *can't* have temps below ambient. Think about it. You're using air to cool.. the coldest possible temp is the temp of the air you're cooling with. I.E. 24C. And that's not going to happen, still.

  • All i can say is, there is literally no heat coming off the intel fan/heat sink and the new cooler... even when gaming.

  • You've used a bunch of temp monitors, but that doesn't mean your temp sensors aren't broken. If they're broken, of course all the monitors will show the same thing.

No one *else* has a wolfdale clocked at 3.3 that runs at 40C on the stock cooler. How the hell do you think companies like Prolimatech would be in business if the stock cooler was that good? You're getting water temps in the stock HSF. That should be the first red flag.

I'm not saying you're lying. Just keep that in mind.

  • It's physically impossible for it to be idling below room temperature on air cooling. Unless you don't bother to heat your home in the winter, it's not hitting 20 C idle. For that matter, I don't believe it's staying at 25C in the summer. You obviously have stuck temp sensers.

Regardless. Idle temps aren't what matter. I'm dumbfounded that you don't realize that.

BTW That's a "Northbridge" not a "front side bus". ;)

  • Well my temps usually change depending on what i'm doing and the temp sensors are not stuck/defective. This CPU really did hit 25 C on idle. after a few months the idle temp and load temp went up by 10 C so I put on a new cooler, temps went back to normal. Now idle temp is 23 C and load temp is 40 C @ 3.30 ghz. So I don't know any other way to prove my temps, I've used 4 different temp monitors and all turn up the same. So there.

  • Oh and we do heat our home in the winter time, usually its about 75-80 F in my room and I get these temps. SERIOUSLY!!!!

  • u must be living at North Pole in order to have ur CPU overclocked without overheated with just a stock heatsink =)

  • Where do you live, exactly? A 2,3Ghz CPU running at 3,3Ghz at 25c would be running at 17c if it was not overclocked.

Seeing as you can't go below ambient, it'd have to be pretty cold there.

  • lol that cant! i have Q8200 and if i OC from 2.33 to 2.40 my cpou gets 55 degrees, without gaming ,lol

  • Mine Q6600 G0 2.4ghz to 3.0ghz got 55 celsius when im gaming, 45 when im not ;)

  • Are you able to tell how cool the computers running due to heat sink? Also did you used compressed air to clean your fan?

  • I use Easy Tune6 to view CPU temp and ATI Catalyst Control Center to view video card temp. I also feel the heatsinks as well. No compressed air, just blew it out using my breath.
