  • Great track to improvise!

Also take a look at Chucho Valdes videocode 3A5FC34dhC4

  • Doug,

I just started getting into Timba and learning the Tumbaos. I have never thought about the Salsa Stride. Thanks! Great feel. I know what you mean about the "autopilot" comment. Playing this verbatim just doesn't seem to cut it as good as just feeling it.

  • I'd love to try this I just think the left hand would be too hard for me to keep in rhythm with I'm awful with off-beat notes ;(

  • Great tutorial on this style of playing, Doug!

  • SABROSO DOUG!

  • vaya!!!!!!!!!!!

  • VAYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!that means YOU GO DAWG!!!!! IN THE IMMORTAL WORDS OF sNOOP DOG diz AND ANT OTHER LOVER OF lATIN JAZZ WOULD LOVE THE RENDITION

  • The nice part of this is it dosn't have so many notes that us mere mortals can play most of these!!

  • Great arrangement! "More wrong notes for spice." Haha.... you mean, all this time my playing has been spicey?

  • lovely play

  • Awesome!

It's a pity the rhythmic track covers the piano track so much (it sounds very soft).

Other than that, the few figures you've used there are pretty cool.

  • Thanks, Doug! I really enjoyed this one. I like the light, airy open arrangement. I listened to a lot of the other versions tonight too. Yours was among the most fun!
