  • What ax were you using? a council tool?

  • Thanks for the vid. I love the idea of the stone for burning out the spoon. I never would have thought of that. I am going to try it this weekend.

  • Fredde, is there any use for a machete up there? Maybe a 10 ti 12 inch one? I was wondering! Seeing how skillful you are with the axe makes me wonder that maybe a machete would be unappropriate for that part of the world! Anyway, the more I see your videos, the more I like them! You are an ispiration to us all! Thanks my friend!

  • @giutoniolo

thanks, i really dont know, maybe it have some thing to do with traditions, and the axe works find here wher i live.

    fredde

  • I think you are a star! So simple. Nutnfancy should learn something!

  • akta kameran

    bra video fredde

  • clever idea using the hot rock to burn out the spoon, I've gotta try that one.

  • You Sir are a very clever man.

    Regards

    Mark.

  • ur food is gonna taste burned!

    :d

  • Great knife skills, allways a pleasure to watch your videos.

    Al.

  • That was just AMAZING!!

  • I agree with NCHiker1970's comment you are truly a gifted craftsman, we love your videos!! 5/5

  • great video!

    what size tarp is that?

  • hehehe i dont know, its a floor from a old tent,

  • Hey dont feel bad. I use an old rain fly as a tarp/shelter. Hey it works right??

  • Love your vids man 5/5

  • thanks

  • Great vids as always Fredde! Love the slinging! Thanks for always posting such useful information, hope this finds you well!

    Slainte!

    Doug

  • thanks, but i rhink slings suck, its really hard to throw precise, to shot A bow is more easy to learn,

  • I was going to ask you about that. I was wondering how you aimed the sling. I have only used a wrist rocket style before. You just have to be very selective of your stones.

  • Yup, I think in war slings were good as just lob at other side but I never did get real good at accuracy despite a million throws as a kid. I kind of like a 12 gauge lol. My step dad was great bushman born 1914 he liked a 38-55 Winchester, his gun looked like driftwood with metal coming out. He thought me weird with my bows lol.

  • Right on. Plus swinging the sling scares any animal you're trying to stalk.

  • but ppl still to day use slings for hunting, so i guess it works good if you know how to do it,

  • do you go hunting?

  • Great job as usual ! I will use these techniques here in norway.

The only secret to a sling is practice and more practice. First at a close range then further and further.

  • I used to be a mad slinger as a kid & my brother & friends. I could sling a rock to China but never was that accurate.

  • hey cool, the sling is and always will be my favorite weapon

  • huh didnt know the technique for the fast spoon. lol 5/5 great job as usual Fredde =)

  • Water proof camera?

What kind of wood for the spoon? How green?

  • my camera is not Water proof, i just cover it, and its not that much rain yet,

what wood i use for the spoon: i give you a clue, i live up north and the tree is white.

i dont store wood for spoons in the bush so the wood is very green,

  • I love these videos of yours! You are a gifted craftsman. Keep up the great work!!!

  • How often do you touch up / sharpen your mora? Especially in the bush?

  • i try to sharp my knife a little one time a day

  • nice...i wish i could get out doors more. You are a lucky man my friend. good job

  • thanks, yeah i know im a lucky man, one thing i have i understand, is i need to take my self time if i like to get out in the bush,

  • jag älskar dina filmer. du gör så mycket av så lite :)

  • tack !! nice to hear you like my stuff,

  • i love slinging!!

  • nice,, are you good at it ?

  • well i've not managed to get hurt or break any windows as of yet!! - for me its just for fun, im nowhere near good enough to hunt anything..

  • i dont like to kill animals just for fun, i have see ppl who like to target practice on aninals, and i dont think that is the right

way to show respect for the nature,

  • I wholeheartedly agree!!..Don't kill anything you aren't gonna eat..One of the many rules I live by..I was using hunting as an example of how good I'm not with the sling..

  • :0) yeah ,, i say the same, ( if i kill it i eat it, ) that is one of my rules for my self in the bush, even accident counts,

  • ***** 10/10 *****

    brilliant - like always ! :o)

Need the teeth of the elk .... had an accident last

    friday - once thoughtlessly ... lost 2 teeth !

  • damn u fredde u always make it look sooo easy! i envy ur craftsmanship!

  • Great video and very nice spoon 5*

  • You want to know what I realy like about your videos??? You show that people don't have to spend money to have fun in the wild. You live in THE country that most people want to buy expensive axes from and you use a nondescript inexpensive one and an inexpensive knife (both of good quality it appears) Thanks!!! John.

  • yeah ppl pay very much just for a name some times, and the knife i use is a high quality knife! but it dont have the good looking things on, like leather, antler and stuff like that, and it is a mass produce knife so it have low price,

  • I have several moras and I think they are great! All of them were fairly cheap compared to the so called name brands. They are much better than my gerbers, kershaw and several others that have been laid aside. Any more if I am going to buy a knife it will probably come from Sweden, Finland or Norway maybe Switzerland.

  • Greetings.

took me a whille to get here..but i made it...

    good to see you again...

  • nice you came ,, :0)

  • what type of pouncho is that??

  • its a pouncho for twins/couple without heads, but we also call it for plastic tarp here in sweden.

  • is it nylon?

  • yeah some thing like that.,,,

  • Any chance of seeing some hunting then preparing and cooking the meat? Great videos...

  • hey great vid!!!!!! just curious to know what kind/brand of knife is that ?

  • Its a Mora 510..carbon steel

  • good video.

  • man i love your vids. most other people talk too much, you just type the key points(and some jokes:P) and show us. its great. keep up the great work man.

P.s. by the way, have you ever hunted anything with a sling?

  • nice video.

  • Nice as allways. That kind of sling i haven´t tried yet. I have to make it and try it. Looks like fun.

  • yeah its a fun thing to have in the pocket in the bush, :0)

  • Thanks! great vid!

  • 5*****

  • skön stämmning

  • good burning technique.

man I think you must repair your trousers ;-)

  • Another great one. Pretty soon my favorites list is going to look like a big Hobbexp advertisement.

    Heh.

  • excellent video really loved the spoon bit. What wood did you use for the spoon im gonna try making one soon. 5/5

  • wat kind of mora is that

  • I think That is the 510

  • i dont know, maybe it is a 510,

i only know its red :0)

  • Great video Fredde. How long did the spoon take from spliting the wood to final touches? John.

    BTW 5/5

  • the wood was wet, so it take a little time to burn out the hole, but i have a good wood and a good knife, and i make a simple design, so maybe 35-45min,

i dont really know, it just suddenly lay finished in my hand,

  • Fredde....which wood do you like to use for making spoons?

  • i like strong soft wood,

  • I think the best place to find round stones is by a river. Not much help if your up in the mountains.

  • its not much stones in the river i have here, only mud,

  • Cool video Freddie, I have never tried the sling before! 5/5

  • Your description says that you're scouting in moose country. Does that mean that you hunt moose or are you just scouting around?

  • hunting moose with my sling :0)

  • If I tried that with the sling I would have killed my camera for sure... lol Another great vid!

  • i'm really bad at slinging but its too addictive to stop lol. loved the fast spoon that was epic

  • epic,, hahaha :0) thanks

  • no problem i like your vids so there's no need to thank me

  • good video. I make spoons extra small (baby size) when I do it so that there is less wood in my mouth when I use it to eat
