  • Did the hollies copy the beatles much?

    Not 'alf.

  • I wouldn't wish to underplay the significance of 'Merseybeat' to the British invasion but I believe the contribution of Manchester bands of that era is often overlooked. In addition to those mentioned - Herman's Hermits, Freddie & The Dreamers, The Hollies and Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders - The Dakotas were already an established band from Manchester before becoming Billy J Kramer's backing band.

  • LUV these Mate`s & F.across the M. IS HAUNTING to This Day & a FAB. Tune & SONG 4 ALL Time,TIMELESS !!

  • Thanks for uploading this video. Fantastic

  • Thats not freddie Garrity

  • @dilwich123 idiot that IS FREDDIE RIP freddie i miss you more every day a great friend and man

  • It takes me back to the days of the 60,s,oh happy days.

  • The guitar player is Peter Noone's guitar player and right arm guy when Peter tours. Quite often they tour and hire the rest of the band along the way ... Frank has been touring with Peter for years! This is an awesome video clip by the way!

  • Oh the good old days - brings a tear to my eye!

  • I love the way Peter Noone talks with his distinct British accent along with most other people & celebrities from England do, including Phil Collins, Sting, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, etc.

  • Freddie looks cool Not so Geeky , Anyway can´t believe that the Brit Inv was almost 50 years ago, My respects to the people who were aware of this phenomenon and were there & attended the concerts.

  • Thank you You Tube for all the great music...OLDIES FOREVER!!

  • Many many thanks for posting this. Lovely to see the old boys!

  • back when music was music!!!

  • What a great sound. I miss those days.

  • That was soooooo brilliant! I grew up in the 60's, and have probably not moved on much musically since then. So great to see my heroes of that time. Shame we all have to get older and pass on, but these guys are forever locked in my childhood memories.

  • Oh, thanks for uploading this, Bobby. I remember this VH1 series. How good to see these guys on the ferry....it's a lovely part of Liverpool.....

  • Don't know. I would guess a band member from that era's version of either Freddie's band or Gerry's band. Just a guess....

  • Who is the guitar player toward the end? R.I.P. Fred! We still love you.

  • The Guitar player's name (if I'm not mistaken, I'm almost sure ) is Franky, he plays with Peter Noone's band.

  • I love that song and play it out at every gig..

I hope he enoys seeing it.

    Peace

    Bobby

  • Hey thanks for this....just great! I have sent this clip to Les Chadwick in Sydney, Australia. Les is the original bass player with Gerry and the Pacemakers. He's alive and doing well. Les co-wrote "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" with Gerry while in Hamburg in 1961.

  • Thanks for the info about "Chad" ... I had understood that he emigrated to Oz and was apparently quite successfull in business there. Good to hear that he is well. He did re-appear briefly many years ago when Gerry was the subject of This is Your Life. He and Les Mcguire came on ... but strangely the cameras panned away from them , so they were never seen. I've often wondered just what happened there !!!

  • You are 100 per cent correct. It was 1989. Gerrys mom and dad and brother Fred and many other including the two Les's. But as they came on stage the camera did indeed cut away!! I have mentioned this to Les Chadwick but he has never commented on it to me. I have a video of that show and you have to run slow-motion and freeze frame to even get a tiny glimpse of the two men... Les C. and Les M. Very strange indeed...

  • Thanks for posting this! Unfortunately I didn't have cable when this originally aired, so I missed it then. This Noonatic thanks you sincerely!

  • So many of us all on the same page.

  • Wow! I remember watching this. Great memories...I love this music...it brings back so many memories. Thanks Bobby!
