@amgaaaaad normally this is purely a video card issue. Sometimes when applying Mental Ray materials like car paint shader, or DGS materials or something similar the object might turn black or become transparent. First thing to check is to hit the 5 key on the keyboard (that's untextured shaded view for the viewport). Sometimes if your still in Lighting View (which is 7 key on keyboard) things will go black or transparent as well. Last resort, try to roll back to a previous driver for video card.

I've got a problem, my rendering stops after rendering a few hundred frames and then it doesnt want to start again, it just says rendering complete without even rendering a single frame. dont know what to do :S Think all my settings are correct. Its supposed to render 2000 frames but stopped at 208.

I'm trying to render an animation. I've done it before but now I'm having trouble. I batch render and it renders every frame but I can't remember how to save it as a Quicktime to watch it.

you need to batch render the frames to a format such as tiff or targa. Then import all the rendered frames into after effects, then re-render it as a quicktime movie.

Oops forgot to add that I use Maya 8.5...but for the animation stuff and tutorial I will be using Maya 7.0 since it seems to be more prevalent.

can you do a video show how draw an object or character for animation.that'll be kool i really want to learn this and its so hard to a tutorial that shows how to make an animation from scratch.if possible i'd appreciate it very much.

Do you mean how to create an animation inside of Maya from scratch? It sounds like you mean how to draw out a 2d animation from scratch on paper? I am no animator on paper at all...lol, but I can do a tutorial on it within Maya. I could do one for putting a character, rigging him with joints...making controls for those joint and then how to set keyframes on him/her to get them to move from pose to pose.

You said something about saving the Maya file as a .jpg file. I went through this tutorial and followed it, once i saved my project is just showed up as a maya file? why is that and how can i save it as a .jpg?
