@willyboy100 I had the refugium supplied with water from my main return pump I had a tee in the line with a hand valve and had about 200gph of flow to the fuge. I then had it sitting up high enough that the 2 overflows I drilled into the side would overflow back into my sump. This was suppose to be a temporary setup but I ran it like that for over a year
They got along well. I lost 2 of the black and whites for unknown reasons just disappeared one day about 2 months apart. I just tore down this tank about a month ago when I moved and sold all the live stock and live rock to a single person. Now I am just running a 30 gallon frag tank.
Yes, I agree with you scout820, you should only add one fish every 2 to 3 weeks. And clown tangs are one of the hardest tangs to keep. And your tank isn't big enough for it, they need at least 250 gallons.
i have had it right at 10 months now. I have added some new corlas and fish. Working on getting rid of most of the soft corals and going to SPS and LPS corals mainly
i still try to do 10% water change every week. although with my schedule it just isnt always possible. I really believe that a refugium can benefit your tank but water changes are still veryr important to maintain a lot of the trace elements and remove waste.
I had the 2 orange perculas before I switch to the 125. I added the 4 baby black and white perculas at the same time I moved everything else over. So as the fish were concerned they all got to their new home at the same time.
@dch921 Okay that makes sense. Did you run any media in the tidepool? What was your return pump?

some of it had lots of color when I bought it but about 60lbs was white. It took around 3 months or so to color up nicely.

@dch921 I know that you have taken this tank down, but how did you move water from the tidepool to the 20g fuge, or were they plumbed separately?
willyboy100 1 month ago
did you start off with the live rock as colorful as it is now? because it's been about a month since i set up mine and it's still white.

@scout820 not really.... Its a 125 gallon. in perspective 11 fish in a 125 is like 2 clowns ans a firefish in a 30 gallon after 1 month
